Loving seeing the historical side of your travels as I'm an Aussie and have never been to the U.S.A. It's amazing that you plan ahead so well, to have interests and activities for EVERYONE, not just Abs

Awe. I have lived in Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg area my whole life. It warms my heart to see people enjoying the history and the atmosphere of the area. I got so interested in history in fact, that I went into the public history field and now work in museums. I work at George Washington’s ferry Farm in Stafford, Virginia, across the river from Fredericksburg. So it’s always good to see people enjoying what I do for a living.

My ex husband and I spent many vacations touring various civil war sites. We are both history buffs and we both enjoy the civil war Era. On the other hand we are both very much camping and nature buffs so enjoy that part of travel. We have been divorced over 20 years and have still managed to do several vacations together (2 tents or rooms nowadays lol]. We take our son, who is on the spectrum and are always looking for places along the way that will be interesting for him as well. If you get a chance, go to Thomas Jefferson house. It is amazing and a lot I think abbie would enjoy. Beautiful area you have been through.

As a cider drinker I would have been in heaven, providing that was hard cider. When I travel, I try to see both some history and attractions. Especilly a lot of cities here in Europe provide easily both when you just walk around. For example London is perfect for just walking around and see the famous landmarks without actually queueing and going inside.

Whilst not fully 'family friendly' because it is an adults only campsite, there is a place near Okehampton, Devon UK called Hole Station. It is set in an oak tree woodland and you can choose between bringing all your own gear and pitch up on plots set fairly deep (one is called the Blair Witch plot) OR you can choose to just bring your clothes and toiletries and use one of their pre-set up pitches. PLEASE NOTE this is not an advert this is based on my experience and I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, you can't bring campers because the site is not set up for them. However, it is the most peaceful, relaxing, both private and friendly place I have ever camped. There is so much to do in the area that we had to keep going back... Asa, I envy you the camper/RV that you have, and the freedom it gives you to visit all the states - hopefully we will be able to do something similar when we retire. USA history fascinates me and the fact that you introduce Abbie to it and she seems to enjoy it is beyond great. I could do with you and Priscilla in my life to organise me. If we came to the USA from the UK, would you recommend we bring a trailer with us (if such a thing is possible) or rent/hire one while we're there... spot the person who has never travelled outside the UK. Thank you for just including us in your life, every vlog teaches me something.
