Radio sent me a Saiko 20" (radiobikes.com/bikes/freestyl...) and a Revo 14" (radiobikes.com/bikes/freestyl...) for me to do something with in the spirit of Christmas, Demarcus Paul and I headed into the world to find a couple of kids who could use a new bike. It proved to be a bit harder than I expected...
WHAT IS OUR BMX?!
In short, we are the Ride BMX staff out on our own. We're building from the ground up and our goal is pretty simple. We want to continue what we love. We want to create great content, feature awesome riders, and contribute, push, and show why we love BMX. My first bike was something picked out the garbage. LOL. My grandfather knew how to fix bikes so he taught me when I was young so I'd just go around the neighborhood going through trash for parts. I built so many raggedy bikes for people. My first real bike wasn't until XMas of 2001 when my mom got me a Haro Mirra 540 Air. I had that frame until 2009. LOL. No original parts but the frame held up for so long.
My first real bmx bike was the Mirra 540 air at the same time I had the yellow one, and Mirra was my hero , I rode that bike for years !!

Really cool video to see from your guys. I hope it inspires other people to do the same thing on their own. This is the kind of stuff that gives the best first impression of the BMX community and makes new lifetime riders.

I know I’m hella late. But this video had me smiling so hard my iPhone 14 facial recognition didn’t know me. I had to stop for a second to open my phone and type this while it’s playing. The first kid getting that bike just made my day man I can’t even describe how stoked that made me. What a cool kid I wish you guys could track him down now that 2 years have passed and check in with him! I know that’d be hard. But damn you guys are the best for this.

Giving away a beginner complete doesn't seem like much to us, but when you're a teenager having some adults go out of their way to show some love will make a life long impact. Such a sick video boys!!!!!!

It would've been cooler if you gave the bike away to an underprivileged kid who wants to get into BMX.
Giving it to a random kid is a crapshoot. If you give 10 bikes away to random kids, I guarantee 9 of them will us them to ride around their street for a few weeks and then they'll lose interest. It's much better to find a kid that's actually stoked on riding enough to go to a skatepark.

@@orangeblue3531 sorry I don't base the value of someone on how "privileged" they are. The first kid didn't even have a bike and the second kid had a shit bike. Fudger clearly said they're looking to give the bikes away to kids that are riding pieces of shit. It's not as if they gave the bikes away to some trust fund kids.
You sound like you're part of the woke crowd and you want the oppression Olympics to take place to decide which kid is worthy of getting a bike. Fudger takes hours out of his life to give away free bikes and there's still people like you bitching in the comments.

Orange, that was pretty much the goal…we avoided parks in specific areas in hopes of finding a kid that would both be a good fit for a bike annnnd “need” it. In the end, you can drive around forever looking for the perfect kid, but actually miss someone who would truly love and deserves a bike. It’s a difficult balance, but we had it in mind for sure.
