I got a Spyder5Pro Elite in 2017 I do video editing and use Photoshop but don't actually print photos or have them printed However, I have 3 computers with multiple mid grade IPS monitors Some boast as being color calibrated to 99% accurate or some other lofty claims Which is never the case for flesh tones in particular Once the monitors are calibrated, if you turn off calibration the difference can kinda smack you in face I'd never want to be without it

Tremendous difference on some monitors for sure, I show examples of this on each of the monitors in this video, and I have another one in coming, I hope to catch you on that one and I hope you enjoyed this one.

@@ThisBytesForYou It was interesting seeing the newer version of software I'm well versed but it seems to make some functions less confusing than the older program I sort of misspoke, my monitors are of high quality and the color is quite good without calibration, however if you right click the Spyder Icon in the system tray and select turn off calibration , you can't miss the changes in the monitors before your eyes I doubt theres many if any monitors that would behave any differently I suspect $1,000 and up versions might surprise me I buy 32" IPS in the $400 to $500 range and only when their on sale (:>)

@@ThisBytesForYou I'll check it out, since I have multiple computers I set all my monitors to a brightness setting of 140 It gives me studio match results and the monitors work well in all lighting I have a Skylight and 2 other windows within a few feet of my 2 main computers and never close the blinds Moving the Spyder sensor from 1 computer to another is not practical Plus, they only have 3 auto brightness settings, which means technically, what you see is rarely if ever spot on 200 is miles away from 120 which is you want to be for photos 160 is a good number for video these are numbers I've researched extensively That why I like 140 , its in the middle Anyway, thats my perspective

I'm looking into publishing my gaming sessions on youtube (I know it's saturated). Would this help edit the videos? I don't even know where to begin or how I should even start recording the footage. I imagine I would need a capture card? I'm not interested in streaming just yet, only youtube.

Awesome bud, go for it, it is saturated but it's saturated with garbage, and don't get discouraged, chances are your first few, even your first 100 will be garbage, but you get better with practice. Since your colors are in the game, you are fine, for me, since I am matching the screen with the camera, thats where it gets difficult, but if you want close to perfect colors, then yes this is it.
After that, you will want to learn how to record your screen, for gaming, personally I use Filmora Wondershare or this Avermedia card: th-cam.com/video/tQMA0RY86t4/w-d-xo.html (avermedia can be used for streaming or recording), though most others use OBS Studio (for streaming) since it's free, a Microphone like this: th-cam.com/video/YW3Y24kbmEE/w-d-xo.html and a webcam like this (even thought this is an older video, it's a perfect camera, this video is very old) th-cam.com/video/XhAo2T11rcM/w-d-xo.html and a decently powerful PC,
