Public transport is a socialist plot to destroy American auto manufacturing and prevent college students from getting more loans. So of course no light rail to university /s
I think the light rail is great! Maybe it is an idea to extend one of the lines to the university as it doesn't have a stop yet. An red line on the other side of the river would also be nice.
Depends on the network. Trams in my hometown Belgrade use loops to change direction. To me it was a novelty to see tracks that dead-end and trams with doors on both sides of the vehicle
A good replacement for the teams would be a Straddler Model. Spanish built train commonly used in the United States of recent years for light rail networks. Look to Tex Rail in Fort Worth, Texas or DCTA in Denton, Texas
Your comment on wanting a more realistic and/or larger train got me thinking. This particular city gives me more of a bay area vibe and SF has a broad gauge metro system called BART (Bay Area Regional Transportation). Broad gauge is a foot and some change larger than standard gauge, due to the fact earthquakes are so common in this area. BART trains resemble more of subway trains. San Francisco also has a heavy commuter rail system called CalTrain that rosters F40PHs and Gallery cars, and I think this is available on the workshop in bsquicklehausen's passenger train packs. I would particularly like to see a system like CalTrain expanding out from Montana to serve the smaller communities in the county.
@@twodollarstwenty I am actually a railroad conductor in the state of Illinois so if you have any questions or would like some guidance to make your railroads and the industries they serve more prototypical, just send me a message and I'll see what I can do for you!
Light rail system is looking fantastic $2.20. Really appreciate that the stations and lines are named now. That helps create a more vivid sense of place. I would love to see you give some attention to a bus network. Buses are a huge part of any American transit system and seeing cims transfer from different modes is super satisfying. You could even use that plaza outside the curved station as a small bus hub since you already have bus lanes on the adjacent street. Keep up the good work!
100% with you on the station that you were having issues with. Possibly do it as a raised station not being built up with land? See how that flows? A carpark/drop off under the station?
Maybe like a post war city, or post apocalyptic, or some interconnected small cities in the middle of the desert, or egypt? Lots of ideas running through my head as to what the new project is. Cant wait to see!
I think it is brazil/South America in general, I remember you commenting on a collection I was trying to subscribe to. You said around August "This is perfect for my new series" or something along those lines.
The new networks really look a ton nicer. I can’t wait to see some spotlight videos on them! And I can’t even imagine how good the custom radio stations will be. This is such an awesome project ❤️
Pretty confident it's Kazakhstan or somewhere nearby in Central Asia considering 1) he's visited there recently and 2) he's mentioned it will be mountainous
Okay okay so you have the yellow, blue, and green line. The local colloquial term for the trains should be called the m&m trains because they’re painted in such a color that reminds people of the candy. M and M can stand for Marble Mountain Rail Authority or something like that
Actually in European cities it’s quite common that trams have little turnarounds at the end of the line. One of many reasons is that trams share roads with cars and they obviously need to get to the other side of the road. Track switches simply were not an option when the tracks and roads were built and planned decades ago. From a CS perspective the devs obviously added the ‘European’ trams and not the ‘American’ light rail which are two completely different things.
I'm so looking forward to your new series and thank god that you decided not to go for another european or american city but for something new, this sounds refreshing! Also the light rail layout is really nice in my opinion :)
I was really hoping that residents and visitors to marble mountain were going to have to frogger it across the interstate to get to and from the stations. Oh well can’t please everyone.
I hope it's a Japanese city; I've been doing one based on Osaka, and it's been so refreshing to build, since it's simply so different compared to the American cities I normally build. I think something like it would really bring some new life into the game for you too; and plus, there's LOTS of great assets on the workshop for it. Can't wait to see what it is!
that little light rail stop that's unknown. What about Guzmán or Beltrán, because Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán was the presedent of new spain (mexico). He was told about a land paved with gold and beaches filled with amazonish women. He was told the place was to the northwest. He began the search and found the coast of california. I think it could be nice with some of that history in the game. Therefore i think those names could be nice

If it's not American or European that leaves 4 continents. South America has some good options like Rio, but I don't really see that working out in Cities Skylines as well. Africa has lots of relatively unknown cities, I could see something like Capetown or Cairo being interesting(but are quite a bit different themes). Australia/Oceania is way to similar to American, so I doubt that. Asia being the largest continent has a lot of options from Indian style to South East Asia(Vietnam area) to China to Japan, so Im guessing it's going to one of those themes.
Hey, i downloaded discord to make a suggestion but unsure how to use. i wanted to suggest placing a park n ride stop. it would be like a parking lot area with a few shops at the very edge of town made to help commuters coming from outside the city to be able to hop onto transit without having to drive into the city or to the beach area.
I have to disagree with you on the tram stuff: in Vienna for example, tram are unidirectional, meaning they can only drive in one direction, consequently requiring reversing loops
Just wanted to mention that in Denver, CO we do have looping lightrails. The L-line downtown is a good example.
Super corny, but, high-five for another Coloradan!

The central station is probably close enough
I don’t know, but
A South African City, like Capetown or something like that
I think the next city is gonna be a Korean city or other Asian city
Maybe south east asia?
Something like Singapore, Jakarta and etc....
Who knows, a Russian snowy city or an Arab are also some possibilities
I think so too...perhaps a Japanese city? Would also be interested in an Australian city build.
The interaction between you and the viewers make the series even bigger it's amazing
I'm gonna put my guess in for a Chinese city.
Whatever it ends up being, I'm excited!
Yeah sams

Pretty much just urban sprawl on steroids....
this may be a weird guess, but im guessing somewhere in russia

This light rail reminds me a bit of the new Sydney light rail... A couple names in Sydney and unfinished with only 1 line working
Imagine a snowy city... there are ABSOLUTELY NO TH-camRS who do realistic SNOWY cities.
I am going to see if I can make some television stations for you too. Marble Mountain and Montana seems to be growing quickly
You truly have an incredible talent, keep it up!
I love the look of the system and stations! It feels a lot more realistic :)

Clus' light rail network is great. I've moved to exclusively using it instead of the vanilla tram network in all of my builds.

Nice city, hope you share this city for everyone
My guess is China. Didn’t you go there quite recently?
Or japan
Name for the station: Brokehammer St.
Name for the beach: Thruston Beach.
In San Francisco the platforms on roads are in the middle of the road with crosswalks to them. If you could incorporate that it would be really cool
Meshd has a really nice tram model, i forget what its called but its a slick looking one, it also has a train version.
Pretty confident it's Kazakhstan or somewhere nearby in Central Asia considering 1) he's visited there recently and 2) he's mentioned it will be mountainous

The city would need a zoo, so mate you have to get going.
I have a name suggestion for the beach, Dagenham Beach.

The blue line should join up to the Central Station through the University
On the curved stations, you should’ve made some “extendable” platforms. Curved stations are not accessible for people in wheelchairs.
i used to live in a neighborhood of phoenix, az called arcadia. sort of an older-but-being-gentrified area.
The word arcadia came from a greek province in the Peloponnese. The capital is Tripoli ( the greek one ).
What if it's Australian?
I was really hoping that residents and visitors to marble mountain were going to have to frogger it across the interstate to get to and from the stations. Oh well can’t please everyone.
trams in real life mostly do make a loop back and acts more like a bus, the tram in gta does it
He doing light rail not trams
Yes
I think you should build a cool navy harbour
My guess, South African city ,South America or a Russian city
Im guessing more of an asian twist...
You will build some city like Astana (Nur-Sultan) or Baku. You were in the Kazakhstan and you are inspired probably :D
Nice guess but not there 🙂
Looks so good!
I think the station near the highway would look less weird if it had a pedestrian connection to the avenue/ bridge that's above it.
I think the unnamed station should be a street name
Station name could be
'The Crossings / South Downtown'
Crossings because of all the freeway crossing action going on there
fast fact 6:47 arkadia is a greek province
The light rail station can actually be more realistic by adding platform screen doors

Arcadia is a wealthy suburb of eastern Los Angeles.
There is a main beach called Arcadia at Odessa, Ukraine.
