Another point in Warfarer's favor is that is passively levels up all your other vocations too. Half the vocation points go to Warfarer, and the other half is split between all your other unlocked vocations.
You can also get some insane horizontal distance if you activate it a bit late into the jump, you'll drop a little but levitate back up and go twice the distance.
The only bad thing is that you get out of bounds so easily that sometimes you don't even realize you're not supposed to reach the top of the mountain you're on and get shocked when you bump into an invisible wall.
Magic Archer will always be my favorite vocation in these games. So much fun. Mystic Spearhand is next for me, then thief of course, archer because I love using the bow in these games and Warfarer because I can mix and match to m hearts content. Yes, it's number 5 because I will predominantly be playing as Mystic Archer. It's maester skill is awesome
Yup, for me its Magic Archer as best vocation, then Thief, Spearhand, Archer (though I hate the consumable arrows), Warrior, and so on. Trickster would be at the bottom of the list, with sorcerer next in line for the lack of spells compared to the first game.
IMO, Magick Archer playstyle on DD1 are way better for me. In DD2, once enemy reached me, nothing (any skill / core skill) will help me escape and get distance without being Warfarer to swap weapon...
Wayfarer is by far my favorite vocation thief/ mage or sorcerer for some traversal/ and archer with Medusa bow for that sweet sweet 400% xp buff plus any gear, and a passive that levels all other vocations at a slower rate. I’ve been using it since I unlocked it 😂
I mean yeah if you want to not only carry around 20lbs of weapons but also have to jump into the menu every combo to swap weapons. Even then I think you can't swap weapons during certain animations so its even more annoying. BUT you can carry a mage staff around for out of combat levitate / heals.
Subjectively fun warfarer set ups. Super tank: Fighter/Trickster, the trickster taunt seems to be stronger than shield summons in my experience. Pawns. Together. Strong: Mage or Magick Archer/trickster/Mystic, the damage buff to your pawns slowly drains their health which can be offset by the healing from mage or magick archer, mystic’s mirour shelde lets you focus more on the enemy. Personally I prefer mage so I don’t have to run a healing spell but lifetaking arrow does also do decent damage so it’s up to preference. Drake hunting: Warrior/Archer or thief/Sorc or mage. Mountain breaker with a full dwarven upgraded warrior weapon will almost always result in a down, sorc + flare for faster kills or mage + silence for safer kills, archer + spiral arrow or thief + skull splitter. I have yet to have a drake or lesser dragon survive the first knockdown at level 65. Tactician - Archer/Trickster, putting a wall between you and the enemies that you can shoot through is just fun imo.
I broke the game last night... 3 sorc pawns and warfarer myself... 100% uptime on MSH and mage bubbles negates all damage and doesn't stagger sorcs making all casts go off. Killed 5 bosses last night taking ZERO damage lol. My 3rd skill is mage silence... Very situationally useful.
@@jaynen you could run the pawn buff, but I'm running the mage's AOE silence. There are certain enemies that can silence your pawns... Which really hurts DPS in a 3 sorc comp... As such, I run silence so I can silence them before they can silence my pawns.
@@Zaane1291 - It's really great on any enemy that casts... and to your point that it knocks drakes out of the sky, it acts as a hard interrupt. Very situationally useful to have.
Trickster is either a second playthrough class or one that you pair with mage and mystic archer using Warfarer so you can play the ultimate pawn support.
Actually it works well in your first playthrough, I mained it and the pawns I bring was archer, mage and switch between thief or fighter depending on what I feel like using
I have to agree, I’m surprised Mystic Spearhand isn’t top 5. The invincibility is such an easily abused mechanic, I think it’s worth the damage sacrifice if you setup your pawns well.
@KenjitsuHokori it's not a passive it's an active effect, with that being said, there are some attacks you can still be hit with, large aoe spells seem to bypass it. The drakes and other large monsters grabs sometimes will get you as well. Other times it will get dodged. The shield just stops all those attacks so in theory its a better skill, but both are the best defensive skills in the game.
Also a note on the wayfarer, You don't need the skill that lets you change your weapon. You can just open up your menu and swap that weapon so that you don't have to lose a fourth skill slot. It does take away a little from the flow of combat but it makes you that much more powerful to have that fourth skill slot all to yourself
There are animations that lock you out of switching until finished, its not fluid enough to be worth it beyond using a mage staff to levitate and heal out of combat.
Warfarer with Sorcerer and Magic Archer is way mre reliable as you don’t even need to be close to the enemies and you get to destroy everything with Magic Bow as you go along anyways. Boost your magic as high as possible, equip rings to reduce spell casting speed and there you go...
Thanks for sharing that...fun too watch. I am a lvl 28 thief and lovin the gameplay. I only just found out these other vocations. I want to give the Warfarer a go :)
High level trickster is the best class in the game for killing dragons period, you just need 2 sorcerers with meteor and male storm and a mage, you place your simulacrum, buff your pawns and watch how they delete the dragon. Don’t try this on PC
Meteoron can potentially do more damage than Augural Flare but it's a bit RNG and depends on the enemy. The real purpose of the sorcerer maister skills is, Maelstrom: good against large groups of small to medium sized enemies especially in a cramped space, Meteoron: High physical damage component and extremely high impact + burning DoT. Also good against multiple enemies. (But practically useless indoors)
Thief with avidity vigor and lethality augments with draw and quarter is so much fun, climbing big enemies really fast, getting to there weak spot and one shotting them with a perfectly placed draw and quarter
Trickster is simply an Arisen vocation that should've been a pawn vocation. The Warfarer thing goes deeper than what this class is anyway, it simply trivializes the game: If you undress and change, you'll soon realize the only *pure* worth vocation is Warrior, as it has 400 basic knockdown resistance. Warfarer doesn't lose stats either, it's a rebalance, as it trades damage for resistance knockdown and the ability to wear any armor, which means you can be a plate Thief. The utilities also make the game too easy, as you won't need a mage anymore in the endgame, you'll swap and _triangle_ yourself while also being able to fly whenever for exploration. But it doesn't end there, as by using 3 weapons at least you have the perfect balance; I go Magic-Archer with Frosthunter Bolt and a thing I don't think many knows is that after that skill, you remain enchanted for a few seconds, meaning that if you're playing Thief without enchanted daggers, you can actually swap and do one enchanted skullsplitter before it wears off or fire one more volley of standard enchanted frost arrows (you can actually freeze bosses alone). And by playing Recovery Arrow, you can use always keep altitude to your advantage, kill enemies or revive fallen pawns without having to move there. Personally yes I think that Warfarer is easily the Top 1 because of mobility and options but my Top 2 right after that is Warrior, the only class Warfarer can't match in stats (Weight, Strenght, Knockdown) and a very valid Mastery skill. Every other class: Warfarer can do > but with plate armor. My personal setup with Warfarer is: Magic-Archer /Thief or Warrior / Mage - Frosthunter Bolt - Skullsplitter or Heavenward Sunder - Recovery Arrow - Rearmament Augments: - Thew - Dynamism - Mettle - Apotropaism - Dominance - Detection (to be changed with Constancy once you're done hunting tokens).
1. Magic Archer 2. Sorcerer 3. Trickster 4. Archer 5. Thief I would not say the game is too easy. It's just not an imbalanced, kill you 100 times trying to beat the first boss souls like game. Thank you Capcom.
Oh, I see you all forgot to play mystic spearhand. Mirour shelde: invincible button. Magike speregonne: health bar remover/ranged nuke. Dragon foine: almost as good as levitate for traversal. Can hit flyers. Skiedragon’s feste: Mount monster for free. Meister skill Wild Furie: The single highest dps/crowd control in the game that deals both physical and magic damage against whatever it hits. Fashion: MSH has access to 3 of the endgame armor sets, and is the only one to be able to do that except for warfarer, but you still keep your stat growth and Meister skill. Plus spearhand gear looks amazing anyway, it has the best fashion options through the entire game.
Turns out I wasn't all that wrong; My favorite has been Thief since the very start, to be fair I played Assassin in DDDA which is very similar (but in DDDA Assassin also had a bow)
No, Warfarer ranks real low my guy, simply for the reason that every other class you want to use with it needs to be levelled up separately, skills do not stay active upon switching weapons, and you cannot receive maister skills which can make or break an entire class build.
@@narcisis4147 you can level up every class simultaneously with warfarer active. it levels up slowly but im around rank 5 on vocations i haven’t even touched.
@@narcisis4147this is why you don’t get it until one of the final zones of the game, so that you would reasonably have multiple vocations leveled up if not maxed out and it leveled each vocation simultaneously. As stated in the video most maister skills aren’t anything to right home about. What skills don’t stay active? Every spell that doesn’t require further input (which is just flagration and levin iirc) will remain active for its duration. Example you can silence a drake as a mage, then swap to warrior to knock them down, then swap to archer a do a full tempest shot into the heart. You can dislike the vocation but at least have correct reasons.
@@sephirian688 thief maister skills, magic archer maister skills, mage maister skills, and sorcerer maister skills are the most powerful in the game dunno what you’re on about. But if I am Warfarer and master of all I should be able to use mastery of all. Why put in all the effort of unlocking each class I want, getting the weapons I need, upgrading the weapons I need, and getting the augments I need if I can’t even use the most powerful skills that come with those classes. The point of the grind is to get to the most powerful point, Warfarer doesn’t have that, it has versatility but not power, and falls way behind in terms of stat raises and master skills that other classes have. If I’m going to have to grind entire other classes to get the augments and skills I want just to properly use the base version of a class I’m not gonna run that class. I’m just going to run one of the other classes that will have higher stats, still have any augments I want, and have access to their most powerful skills. Not to mention being locked to only 3 skills from each class because the Rearmament skill isn’t a core skill but a weapon skill.
@@narcisis4147 When I play Warfarer I only use two abilities and two weapons, and just threw a third random skill in there for shits and giggles. All bosses, including end game bosses (minus the rock guys, because sometimes you gotta wait for them to open their weak spot) die almost instantly and I kill things faster or as fast as people using Astral Flare + Skullsplitter. Warfarer is the best, because you don't need any of the master skills AND it is the only way of equipping every piece of the best gear in the game. I often ran base vocations though, as being Warfarer made an easy game even easier to the point of sheer boredom.
I watched a video where they broke down the stats of the vocations, and though the warfarer doesn't reach same peaks in stats that other vocations can, it also doesn't have the same valleys. So it can make for an overall tougher version of the squishier vocations while only having a slight damage drop-off
They made the game so you can be OP with any class if you play it righr. That being said... Warfarer with the sorcerer spell that gets stronger after being hit mixed with either the thief's skull splitter or the spam attack from the magic staff is straight op
sigh, ofc it was wayfarer don't get me wrong its utility is awesome and being able to wear what you want, combine what you want is cool but sometimes i wonder if it was just a cop out for instead having another cool vocation that did something different instead of doing everything.
I under stand magic is op. But Archer is the class I have the most fun with as it keeps me more engaged with having to AIM my shots rather than the boring auto aim magic vocations.
Warfarer would be so much cleaner if it automatically switched between weapons whenever you use the corresponding weapon skill. Its still the best class in the game imo, but it for sure has a clunkiness that I would rather not deal with. Maybe as a future augment/equipment enhancement?
Ive been using Trickster recently, and it was not appealing in the beginning. But after playing it for a while, it can be pretty good. It does have some HUGE downsides, considering you cant do any real damage by yourself, you have to rely of your pawns when they are not trying to yeet themselves off cliffs, and if you are hit while in a group of enemies, you can VERY easily get stunlock killed before you can get your clone to take the attention. But on the other hand, you can buff all your pawns to do some pretty good damage, i had killed a drake with a mage, a thief and my low ranked pawn on an archer with really no huge issues other than the thief got downed to the meteors. Sure you can just have stuff waltz off cliffs or water if you get the chance, but you lose whatever loot they might have, which i personally think is a downside. And if you ever get bored just sitting around while your group kills things, get the censor from they sphinx reward and just go smack things for gold. Get some free gold from another ogre that your group is bullying.
Thief excels for more than the reasons cited here. Ensnare/Implicate set up for instant kills on smaller enemies like nothing else. Shadow Veil made the Sphinx riddle that involved carrying the jar a relatively simple affair. Thief also has Double Jump in the form of concussive leap. It's crazy how useful thieves are in this game.
Thief dodge + light atk spam is also faster than sprinting and is stamina positive, so it basically has unlimited faster sprint. The jar carrying you can bring the guy to the jar btw which is easier than bringing the jar to the guy, just grab him and ferrystone to the sphinx.
I used to love it. Wearing all armor. But after a while ot starts to feel shallow. Like thiefs formless feint is so ridiculously strong and not being able to use it sucks
@@adamstevens3661 Formless Feint is nice and good, it's kind of why I stopped using it same with Mirror Shelde. It just steamrolls through the game and after a while it makes it less fun.
@adamstevens3661 I suppose. Not using it just means you're actually playing the game. Once you pop Formless Feint you may as well be one of those people who modded to lvl 999. I feel like they should nerf it to where you no longer gain stamina while it's active, and stamina decreases by like 15% for every dodge.
nope warfarer is at the bottom of my list simple due to only having 3 skills, across 3 weapons. you may like that, but i completely hate it. i can list without the mister skills, the start drops and other negatives but the negatives outweight the positives for me. simply making it be a 3 skills per weapons would have made it much more fun. it's far too restricting for what it's suppose to be. i at least agree with the rest of your choices.
I love the idea of Trickster, but it is the weakest vocation in the game by a very very large margin. In my opinion Trickster desperately needs levitate, a heal and a launch (or something to command your pawns more actively) to even be close to the power level of Mage or Magick Archer as a supportive vocation.
(Please confirm or deny this) My husband said that there is an NPC that lets you gain extra stats per level up for 1 vocation, and that there is a max limit of stats you can obtain at around level 200. So in theory, shouldn't Warfarer be able to reach the same stat cap in the future?
Trickster is one of the best tanks in the game. or it one of the best at pulling agro and putting that agrow on you Ghost clone (simulacrum )thing. Problem is once you all enemies are attacking your ghost clone your just watching your pawn do all the work of killing the enemies. So is one of the best controller volcations . Unless you pair it with Warfarer . Trickster is a good single target tank with with out any weapon skills. But if you want to pull multiple enimes to target ghost clone you will need weapon skill but not needed with Warfarer. 1 mage for heals buff, 2 theifs , your Warfarer for dps and single target tank
The issue with Trickster is that pulling aggro is all it does, it's gameplay gets really boring really fast. If you want to run a tank play either a Fighter with Shield drum or a Warrior with Roar and you get to pull aggro and also contribute to the fight in an active way. And it's also the worst vocation to use on Warferer since all it's illusions vanish when you switch weapons from the censer. It sucks, they got way to carried away with it doing no damage at all, even Mage which is mainly a support role has decent damage spells.
You dont need to use Rearmement at all. You can just open you menu and swap weapons to use a specific skill. then swap back. So you can use three thief skills and mage silence. swap to the staff silence a drake, then go back to the daggers and dps. It's a pain to switch but it works.
Wait Warfarer can't use Maister skills? I just spend hours to unlock the Sorcerer Maister Skills in order to be able to be the ultimate magic badass with Mystic Spearhand, Sorcerer and Mage all equipped and using them as the need arises with the ability to just yeet out Tornadoes, Meteor and Sky heals at any time. This sucks some major ass.
I leveled every base vocation to max right before switching to Warfarer and I havent take it off since. Its too good for the way I play and crucial for both explorers and completionists. Ok, I dont get to use the fancy Master skills but I melt everything so fast that just doesnt matter. Even with a difficulty increase im not sure it would force me to change, i'd just grab heavier gear with more defense, possibly switch an augment or 2 and go right back to smooshing things with my Thief-ceror build (Re-armament, Augural Flare, Skull Splitter, Plunder). It's so strong I have been thinking about a no HUD, Pawnless solo run in NG+. That is if I can mentally get past the level gap it would create between me and my Pawny! :)
Pawn ranks: 1. Mage - you need it. 2. Fighter - lock down, knock down, always ready to get down. 3. Thief - sorcerer damage, rarely gets hit, and steal. 4. Sorcerer - Augural Flare. Don't put anything else on the bar. 5. Warrior - poor man's tank that deletes the things. Honestly, any combination with a mage is going to work.
Issue is that Sorcerer does that better, has levitate and can deal damage. Pulling aggro is the only thing Trickster can do better than any other vocation, but that's only useful until you realize that you can create a group that is immortal to begin with.
Before watching this, just going to say it's absolutely Warfarer > Thief > Sorcerer/Magick Archer. Can't really think of a fifth other than I guess Mystic Spearhand, but they aren't really so much "powerful" as they are "I can stand here and take no damage", which is a pretty slow playstyle when you consider their damage isn't really as good as the previous four vocations. Warrior is super fun and feels really powerful, but overall they really aren't compared to the top four. Mainly due to a super lack of either ranged options, or no good mobility options. No, skewering something and charging with it is not really a good movement option. Fighter and Archer are absolutely bottom of the barrel in terms of "power", and Trickster is just the dullest vocation ever, even if they can be "strong" through manipulation. It's too bad it relies so much on faulty pawn AI. Also, I really dislike how much the game is so biased towards Levitation. It feels awful playing any other class that isn't a Thief in regards to exploration and especially searching out tokens. Even the Thief can't reach some places the Warfarer/Sorcerer/Mage can though. No one is going to run around with 50 harpy beacons, and Warrior/Fighter pawn AI is too stupid to use springboard reliably. Anyway, since you want to do tier lists... Player S - Warfarer, Magick Archer, Thief A - Sorcerer, Trickster (god is this class boring though) B - Warrior, Mage (very close to A), Mystic Spearhand (S tier for style though) C - Fighter D - Archer Pawns S - Mage (High Levin, Shield, Celerity/Ultimate) A - Fighter (without Shield Drum) B - Sorcerer (High Levin and Flare, and no ultimate slotted), Thief, Archer (with only Mainfold slotted) C - Warrior F - Fighter (with Shield Drum) You rank Sorcerer too highly. Flare is the single most useful boss killer spell in the game (by far), but Magic Archer is just simply better for general killing...by a lot. For bosses they aren't as good as a Sorcerer, but they are still better than most, and that is without Martyr's Bolt. Sorcerer's are just Mages with Flare when it comes to trash killing. Their other biggest difference is that they get higher Magic Attack just because of gear. Mechanically they're the same when it comes to combat other than Flare. Mages get Celerity and Shield though. Sorcerer "AOE" spells that are exclusive to them are all trash tier. They take way too long for the results vs just spamming High Levin. The only two that are situationally good would be Maelstrom (but only with Spellhold, which means you lose a slot) and Seism. Both of which are exclusively for golem killing...which is like 0.0001% of your encounters.
I am curious, why do you think Fighter sans Shield Drum are A tier pawns, and perhaps more specifically what makes it A tier above Warrior down in C? I have to agree on Fighter for the Arisen being one of the worst, although I'd actually swap Archer and Fighter since at least Archer can spam Explosive Arrows on anything but Drakes. I felt largely useless and inconsequential when I tried out Fighter. However, I also have had Fighter pawns occasionally and I haven't noticed them performing particularly well. That said I haven't noticed any pawns performing particularly well outside of Mage and maybe Thief for stealing, so I'm curious about your reasoning for ranking Fighter so highly.
best female archer gear is on warfare with archer skills.. i love archer of all classes, check this gear look: [Head: Crown of insite, Filcher Kerchief] [Body: Brunhildas Embrace] [Legs: Blessed wasitcloth] I know you dont like these but this is the coolest one -> [Cape: Abyssinal Neck Wrap] Again you gotta be warfare vocatron to use all but its the coolest female armor So ya number 1 best job is dragon fashion love the list
Yeah coming here to say that mystic Spearhand trivializes the game. With shield, stam drain, charge, and the crazy stam move, you could get a mage that does the stam dome, pop shield and swing and just never die. It’s a truly nutty class.
My guess before the vid starts: MA and thief because obviously, Warrior for stagger and big bonk, Mage because crazy supports and then something like archer or Warfarer (but alas, it’s only augural flare, skull splitter and some random skill like the dragon dash from spearhand)
Warfarer with all weapons but no trickster weapon. Mirrour Shield from Mystic Spearhand or however they spell mirror, plus Helm splitter from thief, and one interchangeable spell from sorcerer or mage or magic archer ability which can be swapped at any camp. Weapons Ordered Mystic SH, Warrior, Sorcerer, mage, Fighter, Thief, Mystic Archer and then Archer, back to Mystic SH. this order combo is amazing and creates combo opportunity with almost every switch of the weapon. Mirror shield for whole team invulnerability, teleport to an enemy, switch to Warrior for huge knockdown and power. Swapping to Sorcerer to fly away and regain stamina, into mage for quick heal, (no mage in party needed now either) into fighter for shield blocking and basic, but good attack combo and counter capabilities after heal into thief for helm splitter for high targets finishers or quick step attack to move faster / reach farther targets quickly. then mystic archer for any flyers / pre fight sniping and just in general good. then the regular archer for better direct shots when obstacles or pathing is messing up or blocking Mystic archer shots. Oh shit enemy coming too close. swap back to Mystic Spearhand, pop mirror shield and lay the smack down on em for even thinking of diving at you. Hold R1 to charge your blast while fighting for the next farther away enemy and teleport over to them(like Goku instant transmission). So much mixing up plus every situation is covered in more then one way. it's awesome.
Personally speaking, I can't think of classes in this game as one tier list only, in great part because the mobility to explore certain vocations (Mage, Sorcerer, M. Archer, Thief and M. Spearhand) have.
I’m just finishing up the last two classes (trickster and sorcer), and of all the classes… I’ve never absolutely melted enemies as fast as magic archer. Like yeah warrior can hit for 1,000 damage in one strike… but that one strike takes 5 seconds to charge, 2 seconds to use the attack, and then 3-5 seconds recovery time… vs. magic archer you’re just spamming magic arrows like crazy… you’re doing like 5 times more damage per second comparatively… and so far sorcery has been the longest DPS so far… like the meteors can potentially one shot stuff or like take 3 ticks off a dragon’s health bar… but the cast times for everything is just sooo sooo slow… that even just getting off some lightning bolts or frost storm can be pretty tedious, especially when you can get knocked out of your cast and have to start over… the worst part of meteor… it’s like 10 full seconds to cast, but you also have to be close enough to lock onto the enemy if you want to guarantee the meteors hit the enemy… so it’s pretty common an enemy will knock me out of casting meteors… which is pretty damn frustrating!
I agree with this list minus spear hand being off of it. Best method for melee fighters. Become Warfarer, and make your three skills your three favorite skills from theif. And equip the daggers, spear, and bow. You have to have the bow in case a dragon or griffin tries to fly/over over you.
People are sleeping on spearhand ultimate skill, dps is much higher than skull splitter. Probably second best dps combo in the game when you combo with celestial Paean and wild furie, only second of course to augural flare with M.archer sagittate avalanche/ pinpoint volley.
@@Naughty-Carlos Skull splitter on flare will out damage Sagittate on flare against all but the tallest of enemies. Mostly cause Sagittate takes time to stack up all the way. I replied to the wrong person, but the point still remains.
Skull splitter damage is actually significantly higher, better stamina cost, and has better target access on vitals. Wild Furie looks cooler... and that's about it. In general Mystic spearhand is good, but is lacking comparatively. The biggest problem is rogue just does more damage across the board, despite having better personal utility, with the only trade off being team support. Mystic spearhand's shield after all does work on teammates, so there's that. However, there in lies the problem. The class is held back by sub optimal DPS, and support moves aren't as valued on an Arisen only class in a singleplayer game. If we ever get Co-op however... top 3 for sure, otherwise rank 6 no question.
Personally I prefer to have my pawn as Sorcerer, casting flares for me running as Thief, instead of mixing it up with Warfarer. Warfarer with Sorcerer/Thief gets to clunky and stop-go, stop-go with moving in and out of melee for me. One of the reasons for why I love playing Thief so much, is the rapid movements and non stop attacking during the entire fight, and for me to switch to Sorcerer to cast flare just ruins it for me. When playing Warfarer, I totally prefer to play it as Sorcerer/Magic Archer. They work in perfect synergy and you can stay out at range all the time when using those together.
Formless faint for thief is so op and for anyone saying it drains too much stamina go to dragonforged on ng+ and half the stamina drain on it get archer endurance argument, mage stamina recover argument, and zeal warfarer argument and bam literally untouchable.
I hope they buff some of the other classes like warrior in future updates. I love the idea of warrior but its so sluggish and has so much recovery on every attack that it is too frustrating to play.
I actually don’t have much a problem with warrior. The poise they have is necessary to tank through a hit to counter with a bigger hit. They have range for melee and if you time you’re attacks right, they have deceptively fast basic attacks. The heavenly lash and the other move where you thrust your weapon upwards are really good at breaking an enemy’s “poise” and causes them to stagger if you hit them just right. I’ve kept some things stagger-locked by timing a hit on them
Warriors are absolutely crazy. If anything I could see them nerfing it. Gear choices matter a lot because you're supposed to absorb hits through your charge attacks and tackles until you get really good gear when you're just nearly unmovable, so knockdown resist and defense are king. And knockdown on your weapon is king. It is not sluggish, if geared and played correctly. I don't even use mountain breaker ever at optimized gear because bosses get knocked down from uncharged heavens attacks. Literally walk up to a dragon, do an uncharged special attack and the boss drops and you win.
Slightly disappointing that dagger favoritism resumes in DD2 when DDO got the balance right and truly made "masterworks all." Warrior's knockback power is no joke, but when thieves can just turn invincible and spam the highest raw dps melee move with impunity, it's hard not to feel left behind. Still, it's not like top tier cheese is needed to enjoy the combat. There's nothing akin to Ur Dragon flying around to invalidate Warriors and Fighters at least...
@ShinichiMechazawa yeah i almost wish I avoided thief altogether in my first playthrough because now I've had to force myself to play the other classes instead of enjoying them naturally. Luckily wayfarer has allowed me to switch it up a bit and now I run the same thing Josh does with the daggers and sorcerer combo which is the only thing more broken than thief itself.
1) Warfarer: The best class but requiring stamina to switch weapons is dumb. Also dumb that you cant use a weapon's skill unless that weapon is unsheated and in your hand at the time. 2) Thief: broken class in and out of combat. The best traversal (even better than mage) class for getting across the map and up cliffs. Jump+concussive blast+skull splitter literally jumps like 30-40 feet in the air. Jump forward+concussive blast forward also clears some really large gaps, comparible to the mystic spearhand skill that everyone uses to clear gaps.
trickster requires smart / aggressive pawns, your best bet would be skullsplitter thief and blunt weapon warrior pawns with straightforward personality
I did the flare rogue or flare magick archer but it gets boring really fast since you do the same thing against everything really. So far the most fun was an attempt at making the first games mystic knight SnS + staff for buffs and a variant with bow/tarring arrow/poison to inflict statuses and using shieldbash and fighter moveset because It feels the most satisfying to me with true deflect and enchanted counter
Hey guys love the channel However i feel like i need to say i have never disagreed with you more on some thing than your spearhead ranking. You use the skill mirror shield and its basically easy mode. Sort of like formless feint but for the WHOLE team. And it lasts long enough to cast, them attack for 5 seconds then repeat. It will absorb ALL damage. You can literally stand directly in front on a drakes fire breath for the entirety of his attack.
Mage has high palladium that lasts longer then the MS shield and is just as easy to recast, plus mage also has healing and elemental support Magic archer has a revive arrow that can be used to full heal a pawn and is easy to spam Trickster is better at controlling aggro and a good trickster can win any fight with zero dmg taken Spearhand is middle of the road in terms of what it can do, it combines a few classes ,but every other class is simply better at what they specifically do Plus a single warrior can keep enemies staggered Then magic archer and sorc can easily kill any enemy before they hit anyone to begin with
Magick Archer should be below Mystic Spearhand in my opinion. They are my two most played vocations, and what I keep coming back to is Spearhand because freezing a boss over and over again and once you upgrade the Meister skill in NG+ to cost half stamina, you have the same damage output of a thief (sometimes even higher), total invincibility, infinite stamina, physical and magical damage to deal with any resistances, unparalleled mobility and an execute skill that can nuke 2-3 health bars of any boss. Magick Archer can one shot anything, true. But unless you intend on resting after every single engagement or spam Allheal, it's not feasible to use Martyr's Bolt all the time, it's only meant to be used sparingly. Thing is: Mystic Spearhand requires some skill to play, it's not as autopilot as say Thief or the other vocations, you need to work for it.
I don't remember which one of you three said a few days ago that if one were to play as a full sorcerer or archer, it would be better to play as that particular character instead of playing as a warfarer😉.
Wayfarer is pretty nice i got the DD1 Strider factor with Archer & Theif mixed but the combos are outstanding with Sorcerer & theif reminds me of assassian vocation from DD1 (my best vocation in dd1)
Warfarer 100% i have duospear and magick bow and theres nothing i cant mob in seconds plus added bonus im not locked into armor. 4 skills are rearmament to switch weapons, candescent orb to stick to bosses or mobs for dot, sagitate avalanche for targeted weakpoint damage at range and then switch to duo spear for melee and mirour shelde for team shielding. You got range, melee and no way to die.
Honestly tierlists for vocations Is pointless as each class has its advantages and each and everyone one of them has a different method to oneshot anything in the game
Warfarer literally just seems like the "You beat the game, just equip this and have fun now" Vocation. Reducing stats doesn't matter once you level up above the recomended for endgame, and being able to change skills at campfires means you can just run around and play as much as you want without having to even care about cities.
Definitely underestimating Mystic Spearhand's Mirour Shelde, being able to make yourself and all nearby Pawns (which means all of them if you ever use "To me!") invincible is merit alone to have Spearhand as the 2nd most powerful vocation.
Nah, because the best defense in this game is really the best offense. Also spearhand is much more stamina intensive than Thief, which also has access to invincibility albeit only for themself, but you don't need to shield your pawn when the fight ends in a few Blades of the Pyre/Skullsplitters. Spearhand is a better Fighter but it can't compete with Thief.
I tried combinding Dagger & Bow/Magick Bow like Strider/Assassin/Magick Archer class in DDDA. But it turned out pretty much lackluster, not so smooth for certain reasons...
Ridiculous. The best vocation is warrior because bap, bonk, thunk, pow. The 2nd best vocation is wayfarer because they can equip hammers and greatswords and bap, bonk, thunk, pow.
I'd say that the theif is probably the strongest overall with its ability to just tear through any enemy in the game, but I really enjoy one-shotting dragons with Arc of might on the warriot
The fact that I watched the whole video and not a single mention of the warrior class shameful. You can literally get around so perfectly with the Warriors ability and just no mention crazy
Yeah I feel like the warrior literally breaks the game in some ways. I was maining the warrior from about level 18 onwards and sought out mods to make mobs stagger less and do considerably more damage while also having more health just so it felt normal. Then I switched to fighter and realised how fucking broken warrior feels in comparison. Never being staggered and literally staggering everything, including drake's, in one swing is just nutty.
I was so dissapointed with Spearhands master skill it turned me completely off from it...BUT you made a fantastic point when you said you could just use warfarer and equip all 4 skills from your favorite class and can still use any armor. THAT my friend just made me stop everything i was doing to go unlock warfarer. What can i say....Im a fashion head lol
try this build to tank your thief pawn main skills formless faint masterfull kill pilfer implicate Main augments Mettle for defense Endurance for more stamina Provocation for more aggro Exaltation for stamina recovery speed Vitality for HP Intrepidity to lower HP loss gauge main items 2 rings of disfavor each ring raises aggro by 100% this makes a total of 300% aggro on the thief pawn. watch enemies run past you and see the thief pawn dodge and counter everything. implicate for those pesky harpies and pilfer for extra items
Magick Archer 4th seems odd. This list seems scuffed af. It's got one of the best healing in the game with recovery arrow. Its got the best Maister skill. Its got homing arrows on every target, targeting their weak points. Its got one of the strongest AoE abilities with flame arrow. Rivet Shot is insane. It can apply debilitations extremely quick. Frosthunter Bolt can pretty much permafreeze most enemies with the right bow. Richochet is the best ability for enclosed areas. Sagittate does a great amount of damage and knockdown. All in all, Magick Archer pretty much has everything a player want. Support, CC and damage. And its really fun imo. Augur's flare from sorcerer is massive RNG. You place a bomb on a target and you need to make sure to actually hit your autocasts on the target, and you will want a setup if you want to get the most out of it. Its not as consistent as Martyr Bolt.
unless you rely on a master skill, warfarer is easily the best class, you can have all the fun of beeing a thief while wearing sorcerer fashion. or be a mage thats covered in heavy armor.
Not saying they will but what happens if argal flare takes a nerf? Feel like that’s the only think keeping wayfarer in the top spot and doubt it’s intended to be that strong
i'm only playing for the drip, so currently playing warfarer with only magic archer skills so i can wear the fancy, pancake hat. also keep a wand in my pocket for the levitate.
Iv played all classes and 100 mystic spear is the most overpowered you don’t need any help from any pawn with this class just get your invincible bubble+stamina drain+ majster skill and you are good you never lose hp don’t need stamina items and you deal a lot of dmg 2-3 rotations and a dragon is gone. And all other monsters 1-2 depending on your gear. Yes the other classes may have more dmg output but they don’t have the survival ability and self sustain aspects.
All classes are op depending on how you build them. But mystic spearhand is literally too good to not be put on, almost questionable. Being able to spam an invincible shield second only to the thief’s ui. You basically get CC w the R1 skill and a freaking counter that’s pretty easy to pull off. Mystic spearhand involves skill at the same it don’t it’s just very versatile.
Another point in Warfarer's favor is that is passively levels up all your other vocations too. Half the vocation points go to Warfarer, and the other half is split between all your other unlocked vocations.
If you sprint before you levitate you seem to move further. It's actually pretty insane how useful it is
Yeah it respects your momentum when activated
Try it while sliding 🤭
You can also get some insane horizontal distance if you activate it a bit late into the jump, you'll drop a little but levitate back up and go twice the distance.
The only bad thing is that you get out of bounds so easily that sometimes you don't even realize you're not supposed to reach the top of the mountain you're on and get shocked when you bump into an invisible wall.
i feel like Rearment should a core skill, not a skill. This way you can use a weapon skill and quickly switch to another by pressing that weapon skill
Agree, four skills is not much as it is, giving up a slot hurts really bad.
@@italianspiderman5012 you can get the slot back if you hard-swap in inventory, the tradeoff just being a little convenience
I thought the skills would be tired to the weapons and you not just having three skills between three weapons it was a let down
Yes being able to use every single vocation at the swap of a button wasn't strong enough let's give it an extra buff just because 😅
@RizzRiderEUC you can't do that in combat, which completely defeats the purpose of using the class in the first place.
@@Zaane1291 Spell limitation is pretty lame. They took out some the best from DDDA 2 like the lightning whip
Yea I don't like how the spells look and how low impact they are @@bwestacado9643
IMO, Magick Archer playstyle on DD1 are way better for me.
In DD2, once enemy reached me, nothing (any skill / core skill) will help me escape and get distance without being Warfarer to swap weapon...
Am I only one that feels like dd2 is the combo child of the souls and scrolls games and I love it
I'm a fighter main myself love being in the middle of all the action 😁
Wayfarer is by far my favorite vocation thief/ mage or sorcerer for some traversal/ and archer with Medusa bow for that sweet sweet 400% xp buff plus any gear, and a passive that levels all other vocations at a slower rate. I’ve been using it since I unlocked it 😂
You don't have to bring Rearmament on Warfarer if you really want a 4th skill, just menu switch.
But then what about your weapon skills😢
whatchumean@@NingjaTerdo
That seem annoying
@@MarkoniusRex You have to slot your skills in at the vocation guild. Hard switching weapons doesn't mean new weapon skill.
I'm with you on sorc.... Incredible cinematic style fun
Kinda crazy, all the vocations are really fun. I love how easy they made it to change it up.
Yes but the game is too easy. You don't even have to try to be good.
Very situationally useful.
so you just put the trickster pawn buff on your warfarer, along with MSH mirror, and paladium
@@jaynen you could run the pawn buff, but I'm running the mage's AOE silence. There are certain enemies that can silence your pawns... Which really hurts DPS in a 3 sorc comp... As such, I run silence so I can silence them before they can silence my pawns.
@@sherpagoolsbee8390 That silence is really good, it can knock drakes out of the air among other things.
@@Zaane1291 - It's really great on any enemy that casts... and to your point that it knocks drakes out of the sky, it acts as a hard interrupt. Very situationally useful to have.
This… is perfect. Time to go bully that stupid Excavation Site drake again.
Trickster is either a second playthrough class or one that you pair with mage and mystic archer using Warfarer so you can play the ultimate pawn support.
Actually it works well in your first playthrough, I mained it and the pawns I bring was archer, mage and switch between thief or fighter depending on what I feel like using
Okay but Mystic Spear and can decide to be invincible...
Like theif they legit can't be hit with their passive. Pretty much braindead broken xD
Exactly mystic spearhand is the best no question
I have to agree, I’m surprised Mystic Spearhand isn’t top 5. The invincibility is such an easily abused mechanic, I think it’s worth the damage sacrifice if you setup your pawns well.
@KenjitsuHokori it's not a passive it's an active effect, with that being said, there are some attacks you can still be hit with, large aoe spells seem to bypass it. The drakes and other large monsters grabs sometimes will get you as well. Other times it will get dodged. The shield just stops all those attacks so in theory its a better skill, but both are the best defensive skills in the game.
@BrichaelDonslee mystic spearhand invincibility lasts like 5 seconds thief is basically just permanently not touchable.
@@Zaane1291 depending on the vocation it's not that bad. Just need to be tactical.
Warfarer with Sorcerer and Magic Archer is way mre reliable as you don’t even need to be close to the enemies and you get to destroy everything with Magic Bow as you go along anyways. Boost your magic as high as possible, equip rings to reduce spell casting speed and there you go...
Rage only being warrior lvl 3 is surprising
Those 3* are classes he hasnt touched, he is a lil bit..
I know right, it’s so ironic. I myself love Warrior and I’m also a GS main in MH…
I bet he hasn’t touched warrior at all given how the warfarer is maxed out, which is sad. The insane knockdown resistance a warrior has is nutty
@@matthewharding584 plus the feeling of getting that perfectly timed charged hit is just as good as in MH...
He prefers to play magic classes in classic RPGs, always has. If monster hunter had magic he might actuality play that over GS lol
Definitely agree with Warfarer...but I prefer the mage/magick archer combo.
Tried archer in a new save…wow, it’s good, especially if it’s raining and you got ice boon on your mage 😎
Thief with avidity vigor and lethality augments with draw and quarter is so much fun, climbing big enemies really fast, getting to there weak spot and one shotting them with a perfectly placed draw and quarter
Trickster is simply an Arisen vocation that should've been a pawn vocation.
The Warfarer thing goes deeper than what this class is anyway, it simply trivializes the game:
If you undress and change, you'll soon realize the only *pure* worth vocation is Warrior, as it has 400 basic knockdown resistance.
My personal setup with Warfarer is: Magic-Archer /Thief or Warrior / Mage
- Frosthunter Bolt
- Skullsplitter or Heavenward Sunder
- Recovery Arrow
- Rearmament
Augments:
- Thew
- Dynamism
- Mettle
- Apotropaism
- Dominance
- Detection (to be changed with Constancy once you're done hunting tokens).
1. Warfarer 2. Thief 3. Magic Archer 4. Sorc. 5. Warrior.
11:30 that's what I've been doing simply for the fashion lol and it's leveling all other vocations I haven't played
But Archer is the class I have the most fun with as it keeps me more engaged with having to AIM my shots rather than the boring auto aim magic vocations.
sorc has been my most powerful. espcially with endgame gear and a geared sorc pawn, they just eat everything so fast.
Chain leap to skull splitter for even more distance 👀
Thief dodge + light atk spam is also faster than sprinting and is stamina positive, so it basically has unlimited faster sprint.
The jar carrying you can bring the guy to the jar btw which is easier than bringing the jar to the guy, just grab him and ferrystone to the sphinx.
I'm loving Warfarer vacation 😎
I used to love it. Wearing all armor. But after a while ot starts to feel shallow. Like thiefs formless feint is so ridiculously strong and not being able to use it sucks

Thief is INSANE for solo play. Used to play an assassin in DDDA and just solo farmed crystals for fun. Requires good execution but feels soooo goood

I love the idea of Trickster, but it is the weakest vocation in the game by a very very large margin. In my opinion Trickster desperately needs levitate, a heal and a launch (or something to command your pawns more actively) to even be close to the power level of Mage or Magick Archer as a supportive vocation.
"Every vocation in DD2 is honestly incredible''
Except Trickster.
Theif all the way! ⚔️
Sadly, Trickster Clones on Warfarer vanish when you use Rearmament, making the only reason to use Warfarer Trickster for the ability to wear all gear.
I like to use the dragon skill. Seems to even knock dragons out of their spell casts
@Xfushion2 yeah, I would have liked an enemy slow or an aoe poison or mass charm. It seems unfinished, but I'm still really enjoying it.
You dont need to use Rearmement at all. You can just open you menu and swap weapons to use a specific skill. then swap back. So you can use three thief skills and mage silence. swap to the staff silence a drake, then go back to the daggers and dps. It's a pain to switch but it works.
You can’t do that in combat, right?
Trickter is hard af, but really fun to use. It's my top 3
Pawn ranks:
And what skills for mage are you using?
My favorite thing about warfarer is wearing heavy armor with a rogue hood using an archistaff. Haha
Trickster is actually pretty strong. It buffs your Pawn to the point that it is like having 3 Arisen on your team, rather than 1 with 3 helpers.
You can do that with that wayfarer combo

You rank Sorcerer too highly.
That said I haven't noticed any pawns performing particularly well outside of Mage and maybe Thief for stealing, so I'm curious about your reasoning for ranking Fighter so highly.
best female archer gear is on warfare with archer skills.. i love archer of all classes, check this gear look: [Head: Crown of insite, Filcher Kerchief] [Body: Brunhildas Embrace] [Legs: Blessed wasitcloth] I know you dont like these but this is the coolest one -> [Cape: Abyssinal Neck Wrap]
Again you gotta be warfare vocatron to use all but its the coolest female armor
So ya number 1 best job is dragon fashion love the list
Yeah coming here to say that mystic Spearhand trivializes the game. With shield, stam drain, charge, and the crazy stam move, you could get a mage that does the stam dome, pop shield and swing and just never die. It’s a truly nutty class.
It has its own “levitate” by using the charge move and it can get you to all kinds of places as well.
Mystic spearhand is my top, I keep going back to it, Theif is second and fighter next, melee vocations are the best.
My guess before the vid starts: MA and thief because obviously, Warrior for stagger and big bonk, Mage because crazy supports and then something like archer or Warfarer (but alas, it’s only augural flare, skull splitter and some random skill like the dragon dash from spearhand)
Sorc instead of archer. Interesting.
Warfarer with all weapons but no trickster weapon. Mirrour Shield from Mystic Spearhand or however they spell mirror, plus Helm splitter from thief, and one interchangeable spell from sorcerer or mage or magic archer ability which can be swapped at any camp. Weapons Ordered
Mystic SH, Warrior, Sorcerer, mage, Fighter, Thief, Mystic Archer and then Archer, back to Mystic SH. this order combo is amazing and creates combo opportunity with almost every switch of the weapon.
My List:
1. Mystic Spearhand
2. Warfarer
3. Magic Archer
4. Archer
6. Fighter
7. Warrior
8. Mage
9. Sorcerer
10. Trickster
no way u forgot the best one

@@CodyisKing Thief clears all. vocations
You have to have the bow in case a dragon or griffin tries to fly/over over you.
look at griffin > use the "Go!" command > griffin lands
People are sleeping on spearhand ultimate skill, dps is much higher than skull splitter. Probably second best dps combo in the game when you combo with celestial Paean and wild furie, only second of course to augural flare with M.archer sagittate avalanche/ pinpoint volley.
Can spam skull splitter more often and reach weak points. Also more of a stagger and less stamina consumption
@@Naughty-Carlos Skull splitter on flare will out damage Sagittate on flare against all but the tallest of enemies. Mostly cause Sagittate takes time to stack up all the way. I replied to the wrong person, but the point still remains.
spearhand is the best class imo
This, also Thief is extremely stamina efficient since their dodge light atk is faster than sprint and stamina positive.
It's adorable that someone can be wrong about a personal preference!
I think mystic spearhand invincible is incredible id switch magic archer and mystic... but tbh i use both in warfarer duo spear and magic bow ftw
Same. Tried everything else but Warfarer MS/MA just feels right. Feels like the Samurai/Mage I made in Elden Ring.
trickster requires smart / aggressive pawns, your best bet would be skullsplitter thief and blunt weapon warrior pawns with straightforward personality
Flare + thief really one shot?
Hey guys love the channel
However i feel like i need to say i have never disagreed with you more on some thing than your spearhead ranking.
Mage has high palladium that lasts longer then the MS shield and is just as easy to recast, plus mage also has healing and elemental support
Magic archer has a revive arrow that can be used to full heal a pawn and is easy to spam
Trickster is better at controlling aggro and a good trickster can win any fight with zero dmg taken
Spearhand is middle of the road in terms of what it can do, it combines a few classes ,but every other class is simply better at what they specifically do
Plus a single warrior can keep enemies staggered
Then magic archer and sorc can easily kill any enemy before they hit anyone to begin with
Magick Archer should be below Mystic Spearhand in my opinion.
You have a point. Trickster would be sick in an MMO but it would need an actual pet to do dps.
For all those finding the game too easy on PC, I highly suggest modding the game and getting custom difficulty tweaks mod
My dude you not bout to be hating on my trickster like that lol
warfarer wins since he can choose any form of dps for any case while being able to hsve utility options with staff to levitate to places
And most importantly warfarer has the best drip game.
try this build to tank your thief pawn
main skills
formless faint
masterfull kill
pilfer
implicate
Main augments
Mettle for defense
Endurance for more stamina
Provocation for more aggro
Exaltation for stamina recovery speed
Vitality for HP
Intrepidity to lower HP loss gauge
main items
2 rings of disfavor each ring raises aggro by 100%
this makes a total of 300% aggro on the thief pawn.
watch enemies run past you and see the thief pawn dodge and counter everything. implicate for those pesky harpies and pilfer for extra items
Warfarer is bonkers i like it was a really good idea way more fun then mystic knight and magick archer from the first
Magick Archer 4th seems odd.
I have that same background music in a tarkov video
What vocation would you say is best for wayfarer
Mage was NOT in fact "Worse Sorcerer" in DD1.
Warfarer and fighter best vocations
Theif is the most op class, formless feint is by far the most op skill in the game behind celestial paean
