  • Kampung Sungai Melayu Eco Tourism - Johor
Kampung Sungai Melayu, a village with a history spanning over 120 years, is situated beneath the Pulai district, approximately 7 kilometers from the State Government Administrative Center in Kota Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
Administered by the local authority, the Johor Bahru City Council, this village holds a unique proximity to Singapore. During World War II, it served as a strategic route for Japanese forces in their attempt to capture Singapore.
Boasting a 100% Malay population, the residents of Kampung Sungai Melayu are primarily engaged in fishing, actively managing fish cages, and harvesting shellfish.
Recognized as a traditional village, Kampung Sungai Melayu has also earned the distinction of being a tourist destination under the Iskandar Malaysia Friendly Program, inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Johor on October 13, 2013.

what an interesting video of the fishing village close to the 2nd link border! i really like to see the trip to one of the floating fish farms called kelong rearing muscles or kupang that derives the 2nd link border town of tanjung kupang. i also like the cruise into the mangrove forest. you can visit a few more fishing villages as follows:
    1) kampung seberang ramai, kuala perlis featuring the colourful murals and rainbow bridge
    2) kilim geoforest park, langkawi featuring the eagle feeding session
    3) kuala sepatang or port weld, perak, home to the 1st railway line in malaysia connecting Taiping during the british colonial era and a charcoal factory
    4) klias river, sabah which is home to the famous proboscis monkeys and fireflies

Muara sungai Johor can be build like Ozarks with mansion on river shores and rumah ikan on the middle of the sungai, the tax from the mansions and rich folks spending by the local economy can be use for local infrastructures and skill buildings for locals.. i like Ozarks style because they don't really demolish forests or ruining the surroundings, unlike current housing style in Malaysia
