Seems like for question #4 the wall assembly is what it is, and if we're talking about a finished and occupied building any change to that wall is basically a non-starter, at least practically. For sure it's the wall that could stop the sound, but given that it's already done, maybe some sound dampening materials would be the better choice?

For question #4 one of the main issues is having the outlets back to back so shouldn't we look at answer A as well? Thank you

At 13:31 you COULD fit the entire staircase into the smaller dimension. (44" bottom landing) + (99" stair run) + (44" switchback landing) = 187" which is 15'-7". So is the correct answer actually C or do they just expect you to assume there would also be area of refuge requirements.

I think you need to consider the staircase enclosure that should add a minimum of 1' to the footprint of the stair, so, we are talking about 16'-7" minimum even not considering the area of refuge. The correct answer should be B then.

The question is also not specific enough. A staircase serving an occupancy load of 49 people or less (which we don't if that's the case here) needs to be only 36" wide per IBC. 36*2=72 which is 6' wide. The question wording also clearly states "Stairwell" which is a measure inside of the walls, only the negative space/shaft within the enclosure, so I think we can disregard Moma's comment (since we don't know the wall assembly, assuming a wall width would be guesswork). Overall, the question is poorly presented and I especially don't like that they skipped to telling the answer before explaining, seems like an exercise in confirmation bias to me. The correct answer should be: D 18' X 6'. Since as you stated there is a minimum length of 15'-7", and the width of 6'. The closest acceptable choice to 15'-7"x6" is choice D.
As an aside, Black spectacles really is not a great prep tool in my experience. These mishaps in their lectures and explanations are far too common to be useful for someone who needs the exact knowledge required for passing the ARE's, not to mention the mundane style of their lessons and less than stellar production quality.

@@paintingdata819 Even though he says "small" hotel, I think for this question, its probably safer to assume that the occupancy is greater than 49.
Something that also needs to be considered is that you will have handrails on both side of each stair run. Code permits the projection of the handrail itself to not reduce your egress width, but the inner handrail would be mounted on a guardrail, which if the overall dimension is 6', the guard rail would have to be installed on the stair surface reducing your min. egress width so you would need to have some space between the runs.
