I would say Belgium should be on the list because it's a technically excellent song that has the potential for a huge, impactful moment on stage. And he serves great vocals. But Belgium's record for staging is abysmal. Switzerland is my pick (and favourite) but carries some risk as it's a song that challenges people and doesn't always slap people right away ...so Italy might be a surer bet.
Hello again David here from Leeds Uk. I totally agree with four of your predictions but definitely think you're wrong about the Netherlands. This year no country will run away with the televote and there are so many good songs so the nethetlands won't get a huge score. Moreover the juries will not go for it at all. The one country I would definitely add into your 5 is Belgium. If the performance is even more elevated than the video it will score highly with both juries / public . I can see them winning as I can also see your other 4 predictions- Switzerland (my personal favourite) / Italy/ Croatia/ Ukraine.
Very interesting, I think Belgium could do really well but I just don't see it winning. People think it could pull off an Arcade result but this song is not on the same level as Arcade.
I agree with the potential winners. Between the 5, I would say the 2 biggest potential are going to be Italy and Switzerland. The only thing with Croatia is im not as confident with jury points as the other 2. Netherlands like Croatia are going to get big televote points, but all five i see can get a small enough difference between each other in televote points where jury points will be the deciding factor. I just dont see Croatia and Netherlands getting as much jury points as Switzerland, Italy, and possibly Ukraine. I also see a few other countries that won't get as many televote points, but will get a slice of jury points. That will hurt the points of the potential winners that end up having a weaker jury appeal. Im excited for this year since it will be such a tight race. This is definitely one of the strongest years of songs in Eurovision history, especially in recent years.
Out of your potential winners, the one I think is the weakest is Ukraine. The song was not correctly chosen for ESC. It would haven been good on an album as track that lasts 4.30 minutes. But in this 3 minute format, with this long intro, the song lacks ariety and development. It is just one big intro, the chorus, a rap verse, the chorus and bye bye. No for me.

Both songs will get points from the Juries but that is not enough to win the show. It's possible that ukraine will win but you can hate me as much as you want it would be undeserved again :) and I still believe that belgium has a good chance of winning and the same thing will happen as in 2019 with duncan. If I had to bet, I would say that the Netherlands will win. I am convinced that he will win televote and be in the top 5 with the juries because his song is not really a joke entry. But my winners would be Belgium and Serbia. And switzerland will end up the same as austria last year and italy gets a lot of points every year so it will be the same this year but I don't think they will win. And my dark horse this year is georgia! Her song is 100 times better than "unicorn" from last year and she was in the top 5 I think. I don't think georgia will win but top 5 could be possible.
Croatia bad vocals, I'll be surprised if they win, especially from the jury aspect. Europapa is a joke song, maybe in top 10, but not gonna win. I think Italy is the most probable winner just for the reasons that you have just mentioned. An additional thing is that her performance will probably stand out as less gimmicky and more charming that the other favourites. In San Remo she showed that she has the ability to own the stage completely on her own! For the same reason I think the Netherlands and Croatia might loose too many televotes to each other. They will both have "loud" performances. As you said none of these will win the jury votes. If Baby L upgrades his show and his vocal performance I can see this being a clear televote winner and also get a top 5 with the juries. That might be enough to win the whole thing. I am not sure about the Netherlands, I think Joost will do great in televotes, but I dont think he and the song has the same ability like Kaarja did last year to sweep the televotes. I dont think the song will have the broad jury appeal (especially concidering the older age groups of the juries), and will struggle to get a top 5 in the juries. Switzerland as a winner? I do agree with some of your analisis. But having that said I dont feel confident about the swiss staging. Hopefully I am wrong. I doubt the televoters will put this in top 5 though, at first listening the song can be heard as a bit incoherent and strange/infamiliar. Televoters are usually not rewarding great vocals in itself. Ukraine? Will probably be a top 5 in the televotes, both because of the song and the diaspora. I think they will be out of the top 5 in the juries though. The song is a bit repetitive and the rap part is usually not a favourite in the juries. But the staging will surely be great as always is the case with Ukraine. So my overall predictions at this point is that the most likely winner is Italy. Coming second is Croatia. Other than the ones mentioned is France, great potential in the jury votes. And also a potential for a top 5 in the televotes - mostly because of Slimane. He has the posibility (like Angelina Mango) to really stand out amongst the entries that are more "out there". But again, I am soooo biased here - towards the artist and the language...I might not see clearly on this.
It’s not of my favorites but Italy is going to win, she has a lot of charisma and the vocals are flawless, she can make a great show only with her own body transmitting and actually you can feel the lyrics only seeing her without knowing Italian, and the juries will vote for her
This year. I have to say, that there's not a single song that's hit me like 1000 volts. There are some of those misses, most of them middle road - doesn't irritate me, doesn't excite me - tracks. But not a single one I would be fuming about. This year, I am saving my money... no need to vote... But I'll be watching for sure 😊
Your arguments make sense and, unless I'm remembering wrong, those 5 you listed are the top 5 to win in the odds. It's very difficult to predict televote in such a televote bait year. Which is why I'm increasingly starting to believe that, since they cater mostly to the same demographic, the televote heavy hitters, namely Croatia and Netherlands, are gonna have their votes slashed away by the other one, and also other televote bait entries like Estonia, Greece or Finland. This leads me to believe that, taking into consideration none of these should do particularly well with the jury, the winner might be someone with jury appeal, like Switzerland, France, Belgium, or most likely Ukraine, who also have televote appeal, particularly from diaspora and sympathy vote. The only way, I'd see a televote bait song win, is 1 of them pulling a Kaarija, which in such a televote friendly year, I highly doubt. Then that entry would have to hope for enough jury points and for the biggest jury pleasers to completely bomb in the televote - so too many things have to happen, in my opinion. My guesses would be: 1) Ukraine 2) Switzerland 3) Italy 4) France 5) Belgium - in terms of likelihood of winning, not the places I think they'll have. That said, I could see Croatia or Netherlands win if 1 of them has at least 350 televote points.

I can see the potential for Ukraine but not at the very top... France did very well with another classic ballad in 2021 - and this year the only classic ballad is from France - no competitors...I see a darkhorse and potential winner. Nemo is my number 1 for sure....Eurovision has never encountered such level of creativity in 3 minutes - a Swiss win this year would elevate the whole competition to a superior level. You say he's got no competitors (no splitting votes) - but maybe Belgium has a similar and even more powerful final...another darkhorse. Angelina is the other act (together with Nemo) which completely grabbed my attention - I didn't know anything about her until that first stunning Sanremo's performance. If she can transmit the same energy she's got a real chance. Europapa is the typical Eurovision trademark song - they wouldn't made it for anything else but for Eurovision alone...it's fun and it's more interesting and structured than Croatia's - they would have to split the public vote and while I don't like Croatia being a quick and easy formula for winning ESC - they also have a massive chance and the jury probably is going to take a step back in consideration of what happened last year...but a Baby Lasagna's win would drag the ESC back to a freak show not a real talent contest (we need Nemo for that or maybe Angelina)....Baby Lasagna? Not recommended.

Nemo is my number 1 for sure....Eurovision has never encountered such level of creativity in 3 minutes - a Swiss win this year would elevate the whole competition to a superior level. You say he's got no competitors (no splitting votes) - but maybe Belgium has a similar and even more powerful final...another darkhorse.
Angelina is the other act (together with Nemo) which completely grabbed my attention - I didn't know anything about her until that first stunning Sanremo's performance. If she can transmit the same energy she's got a real chance.
Europapa is the typical Eurovision trademark song - they wouldn't made it for anything else but for Eurovision alone...it's fun and it's more interesting and structured than Croatia's - they would have to split the public vote and while I don't like Croatia being a quick and easy formula for winning ESC - they also have a massive chance and the jury probably is going to take a step back in consideration of what happened last year...but a Baby Lasagna's win would drag the ESC back to a freak show not a real talent contest (we need Nemo for that or maybe Angelina)....Baby Lasagna? Not recommended.

Sorry but the sympathy votes may gradually stop! The song itself is not as good as most people think. Switzerland, no, ain't gonna happen! That leaves Italy. In my opinion this song has the best chance of winning the contest . Dark horses this year sre Belgium, Norway and maybe France
