Thank you! 😊 Yes, it is my mother. This clip is very special to me, as it was the first and only time we sang in the same professional opera production. Although impossible to see, I’m actually inside one of those grape costumes. Luigi Rossi’s ORFEO in 1997 was my professional opera debut.
@@swedishtenor Oh it's clear as day that you received vocal instruction in your mom !!! She's a Soprano so for me it's like your voice transposed one octave upwards !!! Honestly I'm quite surprised by her and your technique. You both have a very light quality, with not too much vibrato, all while maintaining fullness of voice and an opened throat. I'm quite surprised that a singer like your mom existed during that time, and she also sung the romantic repertoire with kind of the same approach and it's wonderful !!!! I remember listening to a very good recording of you as Agamennone in Soler's Ifigenia. I thought to myself: « How the heck does he sing that well ??? » (Otero picks great singers and sound engineers haha). As a fellow light baroque Tenor, you inspire me so much !!! I think that you might excel in the XIXth c. el canto, Contraltino repertoire ! Would love to be taught by you one day ! I'm currently studying in Paris :) Also, I just watched your Bach performance on the latest stream, wonderful !
Dear Leif, this is wonderful, is she related to you ?
