The West Highland Way (Scottish Gaelic: Slighe na Gàidhealtachd an Iar) is a linear long-distance route in Scotland. It is 154 km (96 miles) long, running from Milngavie north of Glasgow to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands, with an element of hill walking in the route. The trail, which opened in 1980, was Scotland's first officially designated Long Distance Route, and is now designated by NatureScot as one of Scotland's Great Trails. It is primarily intended as a long distance walking route, and whilst many sections are suitable for mountain biking and horseriding there are obstacles and surfaces that will require these users to dismount in places.

I walked it last year End of August, Beginning of September. I think was a bit after the big rush. Ofcourse there have been some hikers, but I did not feel it to crowdy. Had a good time on the trail. Greetings.

thanks for this video brings back some mixed memories of this slog,and to us it was a slog ,couldnt wait till we cleared loch lomond,,, when we did this stretch there was nothing to drink or honesty boxes it was the first year the way was opened and we made the mistake of walking too far in the first day,,milngavie to rowardennan youth hostel,feet were severly blistered,,heavy backpacks as well ,no fancy gear then,,enjoying your walk though.

Yeah Loch Lomond literally goes on forever 😅 really good fun though and an epic trail!
We took the kids up Conic Hill a couple of weeks ago and the new path was excellent. Balmaha is one of my favourite places too, we paddleboard from the beach there to explore Loch Lomonds islands and the scran from the Oak Tree Inn is quality. Great video mate loved it.

The first 11 miles at nearly 4 mph if you started at 12 and it was 2.50pm at that mark, wow. I'm lucky these days if I hit 2.5mph on the flat and I've been known to reach the heady heights of 1 mph in the hills 😂😂😆 Fantastic, loving this.
