This week I had an amazing visit with the wonderful team over at Legacy Icons. They are the world's largest Orthodox Icon and devotional material distributor, and their products are nothing short of amazing. Thank you to the DeJonge family, especially David and Ethan, for taking so much time out of your day to spend with James and me. The experience was the most hospitable, informative, and enjoyable visit I've ever made to a company... period.
In the video I share my thoughts on the necessity of beauty in our current age, a brief history of iconography, and a story and review of Legacy Icons and why I am in love with their products.

@@NRMayo I got a large Christ Enthroned (X176) that will be the centerpiece of my icon wall, Crucifixion of Christ (F121), Christ is Risen (F321), Christ "Emmanuel" (X102), & Pantocrator (X114). I didn't buy any of the Blessed Mother, because I already have several.

@@NRMayo Here's the coolest thing: I ordered that large order online over the weekend, then decided I wanted to add an icon of Sts Peter & Paul (S230). So I emailed customer service on Monday morning & asked if they could add that icon to my order & charge it to the same card (I gave them the details of the size & finish I wanted). I got an email back saying they would add it for free! I am blown away, & will recommend them to everyone now! :)
@ how incredible! Their customer service is top notch!! A company with a heart! Which you don’t always find these days!

Great review! It’s such a blessing to have Legacy locally. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using icons as a bookmark. We keep them everywhere- tucked into the car visor, taped on mirrors, inside kitchen cabinets, etc… it’s great to have reminders of the gospel and our saints everywhere. I even have a few of the mini icons they make at Legacy that my baby likes to chew on 😂. God bless! - Veronica from Holy Cross in Walker

Legacy Icons is simply the best IMO. I've been very pleased with the icons I've gotten from them. My favorite so far is the Blessed Mother with St. Elizabeth (F324) not only for the holy personages portrayed but the very pro-life message is gives!
@@johnmb69 yes how wonderful! I hadn’t seen that particular icon, but am so glad you brought it up. I recently did an advent series through Luke 1 and 2 and was struck at the depth and significance of Elizabeth and Mary, and then obviously St John the baptizer and Christ. This icon brings it all to the forefront. I especially love John’s dance before his King! Thanks for sharing, and for taking the time to make the comment!
One thing I didn’t see on the online store was Prayer ropes..🤷♂️
It would be cool if they got into supplying prayer ropes.
Edit …my bad they have prayer ropes. But they could expand on the selection..
@@joeskill4663 yea it’s a smaller selection of ropes. They specifically partner with a couple monasteries to my understanding, so the availability is limited.
