To address all of your concerns about her hair being greasy. Her hair soaks up moisture in ways I can't explain lol. So in order for her hair to not be extremely dry within like 2 days, I have to add extra product and its usually soaked up by they the next day. Everyones hair is different and requires different techniques to ensure longevity and moisture. This only works if you have extremely DRY hair. I am not a professional nor an expert, just showing you guys what works for me! Thanks! xo

Marly Corriea the last time I straightened my hair, (5 years ago) before I straightened it, the curls were mid shoulder, when I finished straightening, it was all the way down my back. I’m planning on straigtening it soon 🤭

Mimi landrum I think they're saying it bc it didn't have a lot of body but she also used a sulfate free shampoo which has added moisture. She did say she has extremely dry hair she I'd think she knows best for her sister. People are being rude.
I don’t see no heat damage, but everybody is an expert beyond the computer screen. I think hair is beautiful and she did a wonderful job.

I guess I don't understand where people are saying it's too greasy. This is usually how my hair looks after silk pressing it as my hair is EXTREMELY dry by nature so I tend to be a bit heavy handed with product. By the next day, my hair is flowing and healthy in appearance. That's why I don't go anywhere on the days I do this to my hair because I hate the immediate results but love the results the next day when my hair has soaked up the moisture. Everyone's hair is different.

Gorgeous! I don't think it's greasy at all, it just looks super moisturized. Her hair probably soaks up moisture so she extra saturated it. Super cute!
Shrinkage is real just like mine, her hair is not greasy just healthy and some people make me laugh about no grease no this no that. Do what works for you , my hair loves grease..so what's the big deal.
You have to use different deep conditioners to straighten hair. Moroccan Oil or Red Ken. Those deep conditioners are light, but they completely protects the hair from heat damage. Therefore, the hair will not be weighted down. Silk presses should never be greasy or heavy.

when you have high porosity hair so you have to do the most with the moisturizers on the first day just so the next day it'll be SEMI moisturized. SMH. I feel it! 👏 looks beautiful.

PiccoloVegeta97 high porosity hair gains and LOSES moisture very easily due to the largness of the pores/cuticle of the hair. Low porosity is better at retaining moisture with less product. Loading up the hair with lots of product on low porosity hair will most likely change the integrity of your hair when the hair is dry or ready to be styled.

loved the results, there are other TH-camrs with more subscribers than her but quality of their videos ain't as nice that's why I always go for quality over quantity 👍
does she have a perm? or natural? advice..after you deep condition and rinse immediately apply whatever moisturizer you're using to the hair but then section the hair off and twist so that it has a chance to absorb it.. by the time you blow dry it it'll be wayyy more silky (think that's why people said it was too greasy because her hair was a little stiff and sometimes less is more she can always apply more after its flat ironed.) also recommend getting a dryer with a comb attached it's faster and gets out more kinks...my hair literally falls out of my wrap when I do it that way.

Okay it took for me to watch the entire video to find out why people were saying her hair is too shiny and still not see what they see. If your hair looks anything less than hers in this video, their scalp needs Jesus. That's how my hair always looks after a good salon visit and with the natural dry hair I possess, that is far from easy to do. You go girl! You look lovely! 💯👍🏽😍
All the bold head people saying her hair look greasy 😭 no baby when you have hair you have to put products and etc in your hair so that it stays moisturized. I have that same problem I have to keep my hair comb out and moisturized so that it stays long and healthy.

My hair is very porous too so I have to use more grease or oil than other people too because it dries out real quick .

Shrinkage had me fooled af!
My hair stays dry. People have to find a routine that works for them. Like, I have to wet my hair with warm water to open the pores to soak in the water then deep condition cover with a plastic bag for 30 mins. Sometimes I add evoo, avacado oil, coconut be oil. Once it soak in I rinse with cold water to close cuticles the apply some Shea butter to keep it protected. Cover my tuck my ends in with a protective style. Yes it took me some money and trial n error to figure what work to to stop breakage and retain length and moisture. So when people say it looks greasy or you put to much grease they need to understand that might be what works for you type of hair. You did a great job on your sis hair. Be blessed 😁

OMG! Seeing her hair makes me want to go to the salon and get mine done. i've been natural for about 2 and a half years and I've never had my hair pressed out/blowed out. my texture is exactly like hers and seeing it shrunken up and kind of dry, I've always been scared to see it pressed out because I thought I wouldn't like the results (lol, crazy, I know). But for real, seeing someone with hair just like mine (so hard to find on youtube), I think I'm gonna go ahead and do it ^_^

Questions - anyone feel free to answer:
1. How long does this last if its obviously not wetted or washed?
2. If there humidity and this starts to "frizz" up after a few days, but your scalp is still clean and the hair isn't dirty, can you sort of "re-do" the straightening at a lower and re-wrap it to the same results?
3. If you re-wrap it lets say everynight in the plastic wrap, will the lengthen the amount of time this hairstyle is good for?
4. can you spray some dry shampoo in the hair and run it through it it starts to get a little oily?
Im not black and dont have that hair texture. Asian here, with maybe a 1 or 2 "type" of hair, but I think this is very interesting. Can't stop watching black hair vids, haha.
galemoy 1) Well it can last as long as you take care of it really. I like to wrap my hair at nights when it's straight, so it can last up to two weeks (I have relaxed hair so it may be different for other people).
galemoy 2) Yes you could do that but honestly I would not recommended that since the more hat you use on your hair the more heat damage you'll obtain. But again if you take care of it, it could last up to 2-3 weeks.
galemoy 3) Not plastic but silk yes. Silk wraps help the hair stay straight for a while.
galemoy 4) Honestly, my hair gets really dry really fast if I don't constantly add moisture. I'm not sure how it is for other black girls but since I did relax my hair, it constantly needs to be moisturized. So I never really have an oily hair problem. But even if it was oily, I would not add any wet moisturizers to my hair while it's straight because the roots would become frizzy and puff up in a second. Hopefully I helped!

It came out nice but with hair that soaks up moisture the trick is in your deep conditioner and make sure the product is rinsed completely out of the hair...i see why some ppl say its greasy b/c the hair does seem weighed down but that can be avoided by deep conditioning and less serum...you have 2 be careful with serums b/c less is more when using them.
To me it just looked super shiny

Regarding dryness I feel the same since my hair gets so tight after washing it thr sebum does not travel down without work therefore I have to apply lots of moisture as well therefore when someone says it looks greasy ignore them as some will remain ignorant for life let their negative energy become your positive and SHINE

You did a great job on her hair and I could tell you were not trying to over do it with the heat. I did notice that the skin on your sister's neck is darker and looks a little thicker than that on her face or her hands. The skin changes that I see (Acanthosis Nigricans) is associated with diabetes and other diseases such as polycystic ovarian syndrome. I would suggest that she see her doctor if she hasn't already done so to check it out. I hope it's nothing, but better to be safe than sorry.

💛💛💛 her hair. What all products did you use on her hair? My hair is very dry and soaks up grease and whatever else I put in my hair. It looks like she has either 4b or 4c type hair.
I have the same flat iron except mine is red and it cost me 100$ it works really good as well
