      i would prefere if you next time take the same pose in both outfits. 5:58
      by looking straight in the left one youre showing a dominant pose.
      while youre in the right one look at the left one like : damn what a boss!!
      BUT i still have to say that even that pose looks great!
      (i go for hugo. i would only buy something like that one time and want no regret. i find that one the most awsome even while im someone who sits on his money.)

      alpha m. Can you please do a video about self esteem? I feel like every time I go to the gym and see a beautiful girl I feel like I'm not worthy for love and not for happiness in general. It's really depressing and ruins any social connection I have with friends and family.

    I prefer the Hugo Boss one. The suit supply one looks boxy and shiny and makes you appear like a heavier dude. Ill agree that the shoulder creasing isn’t ideal but overall the Hugo one looks nicer.

    Why aren't you wearing a bow tie with a tux? A tuxedo is evening wear, you don't wear a normal tie with that.

      SeverMetal black tie much?

    • @SeverMetal
      @SeverMetal 8 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      black tie means tuxedo. It's opposed to white tie, i.e. a suite with a tailcoat.

    Shoulders and buttons apart, the Hugo Boss tux looks much better. It's definitely pricier but it makes you look like a million bucks which is not as much the case with the suit supply tux IMO. Cheers!

    • @vasilije94
      @vasilije94 8 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      I totally agree with you. Shoulders were not good, also buttons were horrible, but so were also on the other suit. But overall Hugo Boss much better than the other.

    • @tuananh823
      @tuananh823 8 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      No offence man. But the pull around the waist, the skinny lapel make Hugo Boss suit look cheap.

    • @MintStiles
      @MintStiles 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The fabric is cleaner and nicer on the Hugo Boss, but the fit and cut is much better for suit supply. You would have to be a fairly skinny fella to make the HB look good. The SS is better on a normal human being and had a more classic look with the grosgrain lapels.

    • @murrayculix
      @murrayculix 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      You dont know much about whats the most importaint in a suit, and its how the shoulders fit.The boss shoulders where totaly shit pissed even after two alterations. You can choose whatever fabric you want at suitsupply without spending alot more money. If the shoulders of everything is off, the shoulders must fit perfectly. The rest is easy to alter. Also boss suits mostly fit guys who do not lift. You have no buisness in commeting on mens suits.

    I know I may sound very classy, but you should wear a double or french cuff shirt with hidden front buttons or studs instead of a normal shirt, also a tuxedo is like a uniform, so a bow tie is preferred over a normal tie

    Hey Aaron, great video as always. In regards to the hugo boss one, you say the sleeves had to be taken up. When the sleeves of a any kind of jacket are too long for my arms, my tailor usually shortens it from the shoulder part. Yes, it is more work, and maybe more expensive but it looks way better because it looks like nothing has been done to it. Saludos. Greetings from the Netherlands.

    Alpha- my first post on your video. I am a heart surgeon and have several suits of ranging from 500-2200$ (Zegna, Canali). I think Hugo Boss is a great brand but like you've shown I am not sure it's worth the money. I personally think the Hugo boss fits better here but I do like the suitsupply for the $$$. For a price range in between SS and HB check out Reiss- UK brand- their fit and quality is stupendous. I just bought a double breasted wool suit for 550$ on sale that is as good as Zegna suits. I am also similar size as you (155lb, 5'9'') - 36 chest, 30 waist. Thanks for the great work!!

    The suit supply may be a better bang for your buck, but I think that is largely due to you being able to fit into it straight off the rack. I'm almost 6'6 with a 6'9 wingspan and it's literally impossible for me to fit into any jacket off the rack. I'm roughly a 45L in the body, but even the long (L) sleeves don't even get close to fitting me. Because of this, I only have 1 suit and 1 sport coat. The Brooks Brothers suit was $1,100 because I had to get the entire thing custom-made. Just some food for thought. Thanks for the incredible content and keep it up!

    I just can't see how they can justify $1200 for a suit that is essentially identical to a $600 one, just stinks of pompous rip off to me 😒, suit supply all the way

      They really are not "essentially identical", you are either blind, have never worn expensive clothes, or both

      @123TheLancer 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'm just saying that most guys only wear a suit maybe once to thrice a year, and you wear tuxedos even more rare than that. If your lifestyle requires you to dress formally often, then its a good investment, but it's not worth the money if you're rarely gonna wear a $1200 dollar Tux.

    Is it just me or does the Hugo Boss suit looks so much better on him? Minor niggles not really noticeable which could have been resolved through further alterations but he looks miles better it it than than the Suit Supply. Having said that, it DEFINITELY isn't $600 better than Suit Supply tux.

    Like many others here, I find it bizarre that you find the Suitsupply better. For me, the moment I see the Hugo Boss I’m thinking ‘Smart!’ Also, the wide lapels on the Suitsupply looks tacky and reminds me of a vampire film or something. The shoulders on the Hugo Boss look fine. I don’t know what you are complaining about. It’s much better than the Suitsupply that has those annoying protruding things, that, again, make it look tacky by comparison. As so many have pointed out, the Hugo Boss suit looks as slick as anything, with that cool hourglass midsection, and the Suitsupply looks baggy on you. Perhaps you simply like that look but it looks inferior to me. The only thing that looks wrong on the Hugo Boss, at least the one fitted on you, is that your right sleeve is looking a tiny bit too long. I’m surprised you didn’t notice this when getting it fitted. Finally, you even admit yourself that the fabric on the Hugo Boss is superior. So there isn’t any competition. The only question is of price. I’d be inclined to bite the bullet.

    okay as a tailor (and Dutchman), I admire suit supply's low price high quality selling strategy. then we have Hugo Boss... did well in the 80's and 90's, took a big risk going on the Asian market and failed. still they're saying they're the 'go to' when it comes to suits, I disagree! you can buy so many other brands which offer the same quality for a lower price (strellson, Tommy Hilfiger, cerruti 1881 and more). and some of my own thoughts: why the hell would you consider spending $1200,- on a off the rack tux from a has been brand instead of going to a tailor a get a great made to measure tux for the same price with all your own preferences in style and layout? I can get you a marvelous tux MTM for like $700,- and I know suit supply can get you that too.

    • @MintStiles
      @MintStiles 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrMacca030 the samuelsohn stuff are good quality but the cuts less modern and fabric less nice. Unless you are a tailor such as yourself, it's almost worthwhile to buy suitsupply and then alter.
      I like Hugo Boss stuff, but only their higher end items. Their outlet or department store brands are nothing short of attrocious in the fabric and construction department. Still nicely cut.
      As well the HB material does look nice here, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a wool poly blend.

    @Alpha M, I had a suit made by a CJ custom clothiers out of Memphis. A fellow church member told me about him. He makes suits for a lot of pro athletes. I paid $850 for it, but the quality doesn't match the price. On the flip side I had another suit made by a different tailor. I paid $400 dollars for it and the quality doesn't match either. It's wool and cashmere fabric. Custom lining and the whole 9. This guy is awesome. Both suits fit impeccably, So, I see your point. I get compliments on both suits. So, I see your point. "Once you go bespoke it's hard to buy off of the rack."

    I know everyone hates on Mens Wearhouse (for good reason most of the time), but for that $1200 you could get a Joseph Abboud custom made tux which will fit you a heck of a lot better than either the Hugo Boss or the off the rack Suit Supply tux, and it's also made in the USA. The Suitsupply definitely fits you the best of the two though!

  • @sfqm1083
    @sfqm1083 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mr Alpha Sir, I humbly respect your opinion and I do admire how you are not swayed by hurtful comments saying that you are wrong, when you werely sharing your perspective.
    On the contrary, I do believe that in this case, the Hugo Boss suit may not be 'better', but it is definitely more "alpha". I am confident that you too believe that quality of fabric can be distinguished even just by mere sight. In this case, the difference in quality of the fabric between the to suits is honestly quite inconspicuous. The Hugo Boss suit in the thumbnail was actually what attracted me to watch this video, and I didn't even notice the captions or the title. I have to say, quality is a lot more than just reliability and comfort. It transcends to the visual aesthetic factor as well, and I am pretty sure that as an alpha male, you knew that all along.
    As far as fit goes, all brands have different fits. That's why most people stick with a certain shop/brand for most of their clothes; because the brand has their fit. In this case, I think it is slightly unfair that you gave "suitsupply" an advantage because of their fit, because it is most likely that the average suitsupply suit fits you better than the regular Boss suit. Men's builds vary, and hence I feel that to compare the fitting of the suits from different brands is something subjective. Unless of course, a particular suit is sagging like curtains.
    Just wanted to share my thoughts, love the video and channel. Stay awesome Alpha 👌

    Two thumbs up for suitsupply the look of their tuxedo is much more of a classic look the lapels are definitely shaper cleaner lines and less trendy looking like the hugo boss and as for the satin trim around the waistline of the hugo boss trouser just another trendy aspect I definitely would select the suitsupply tuxedo over the not because of price alone but construction details make it a much better choice!
