Thank you sooo much for featuring me on your video today. I currently love my 2013 Triumph Bonnieville so much and if I was only going to keep 1 bike, that would be the one. I really appreciate your channel as I have learned a couple things from you in regards to the starting issues you were having. Great info. Out of all the bikes I’ve had and currently have , think my Bonnieville and the CBF1000 stand out as some favourites. I know you have recently talked about the CBF, such a shame they discontinued it. The two worst bikes I ever owned where the Kawasaki Vulcan 750 and the TW200. Not that the TW is a bad bike, just that the one I bought was. Look forward to your videos. Can’t wait to see your Bonnie back! 👍Cheers!

Freddie! You don’t know what a Donkey jacket is? Great bit of kit in the day. Think of a sawn off waist length Duffle Coat, no hood and round buttons! Some had plastic shoulder covers! Trigger used to wear one in Fools and Horses. Surprised they never made a comeback! Warm and waterproof and cheap!

Well done Freddie. Very good. I like your explanation of relative insurance costs of the same bikes of different years. Real word information that will benefit others.
You're right about older bikes. About 3 years ago, I picked up a 1997 Honda CBR600F, immaculate with less than 2,000 miles. Fully comp insurance has never been more than £100, and it's a lot of fun. Less than 200kg and 95bhp. I have a modern bike too which is about 3 times the price to insure.
Hayabusa is a Japanese term for a peregrine falcon which guess what used to swoop down mountains and prey on blackbirds. Apparently that is why Suzuki chose the name. As the Honda Super Blackbird was named after the SR71 aircraft, it was as usual stupid Suzuki marketing rubbish, I'd have a 20+ year old Honda than a cheese suzuki any day.
Hi Freddie. I would say that Suzuki were late to the show iro very fast sports tourers. The ZZR 1100 C1 arrived in 1990 and was an immediate success. Kawasaki upgraded The ZZR C to a D1 in 1992. A 180 mph top speed, 2 up comfort for fast long mileage cruising at around 50 mpg. The BHP was 150 from the 1048 CC engine but remember The RAM air carb system (also on the ZZx9R) used to give you a huge kick in the back boost at around 8000 rpm! This was immeasurable on a Dyno . The ZZR 1100 came in restricted format but we used to derestrict it with a £50 set of carb tops! They were great great bikes! In 1996 Honda released Their Blackbird sport tourer which was slightly quicker and then Suzuki with the larger engined Hyabusa in 1996. I owned a ZZR110 C1 and a D1. We travelled all over Europe, Scandinavia and North Africa without a hitch. Rear tyres however rarely lasted more than a thousand miles! I still have my D1 but it needs recommissioning and I haven’t ridden it for quite a few years sadly. Many wonderful happy memories! They were great bikes!

Here in Bulgaria, it's the vehicle that is insured, not the person, so bikes are done in cc bands, but NO insurance company in Bulgaria will insure a bike for theft, but on my 99 ZX9R , I pay the equivalent of £45 a year, a mot is about £18 and lasts 2 years, and no road tax on bikes!
Hi Freddie I grew up in my family's Honda 5 STAR dealership in the 70's, the last factory course i did was for the CBX1000 which was way to big for me. I built my CD175A5 out of the crate in 1975 but had to tax it in 1978 as my car packed up. I just sold it to a very old friend but after looking at your RE video reviews I bought a Hunter 350 this year. I love it but its too heavy for this 66 years old and my feet only just touch the ground! Any suggestions for lighter lower bike?
How about this Freddie, I bought a 1991 zzr1100 with only 18040 miles on the clock last November. I spent spring and early summer totally renovating it, then wanted to ride it so looked online for an insurance quote. The first one I got was from Swinton insurance for £75.18p fully comp, but get this, that was without any no claims discount and no excess in the event of a claim. I have spent this summer on a 147 bhp 175mph missile of a bike for less than £1500, can anyone beat that? Loved that video by the way, regards Stephen Latchford.
In 1977 only the wealthiest could afford leather jackets, for the poverty stricken you might be surprised to learn we wore Belstaff wax cotton trail masters and the associated trousers if it rained. On our feet it was Derriboots - a kind of bikers welly boot. A few years ago a chucked out 2 complete sets of Belstaffs having no idea they had become so popular and expensive.
My quote on a triumph street triple 2012 - £3800 / Yamaha MT07 2017 - £1800. I went with an 04 SV650s - £650 (Fully Comp) as my first big bike. Traded in my Ninja 250R (£900 fully comp). I am 25 Years old and have 0 NCB

Back in 1999 I owned a new Honda Hornet 600, a great bike at the time but a friend had just bought a new gold Hyabusa, the stories of just how powerful and fast this bike was were enough to reject any offers of a ride on one but I was offered a blast on his, to be honest I didn't want to ride it because of it's reputation but with other bikers looking on I went for it, I rode it sensibly never pushing those horses and enjoyed the fifteen minute ride and on my safe return I explained it was just a big friendly pussy cat, actually a pleasure and joy to ride.
My first bike back to biking after a 10 year break was a gen 2 Busa. I mean, i survived the experience but I wouldn't recommend it. something around the 100 bhp range would've been more than enough!

Freddie, back in 1999 at Bentley bike night there was a chap who turned up on the “Shitbrown” coloured Hayabusa with the number plate T200MPH. I wonder whether the bike is still around wearing that plate?
I look forward to the day you finally put your hand in your pocket and buy a bike …… hope you don’t sell your triumph, it’s worth sod all but it must be part of you by now. But it’s definitely time you bought a newer bike for future adventures. You must be tempted by something much different but the obvious bike for you is the T120. Then you would definitely appreciate the extra power but fall in love all over again. The Enfield , whilst a great bike , would make you feel short changed eventually. I think you are a similar rider to me so you don’t need mad power, but 48 just wouldn’t cut it on the trips you make. I have gone down to 57 hp on my Harley street 750 and it’s just enough. I know, one day, I will go for the T120. It really is the perfect bike.
You’re right James- I should really buy another bike. The T120 makes perfect sense, but I think I’d go for something different (especially if I keep my Bonneville).
Freddie, I have lost the track on your Triumph. Have you got it back? Last time you spoke about your bike was when some bikers where sending you the gasket.
We forgive you for not going on more camping trips Freddie. We all know Monica is absolutely not that type of girl and there must be very few if any opportunities for any real adventures. Well life is about sacrifices after all if you ask me, and Freddie, you seem to be doing pretty good at the very least so I think we can all understand you 💯👍👌.
Hi Freddie, a ponderment; in 10yrs time, which '99 Busa do you feel will gain the better price? A fully serviced 'carpet monster' with fresh tyres & less than a hundred miles on the clock, or the one still sealed inside it's original & carefully stored crate? : )
Hi Fred, whilst owning a vfr800 fi I test rode a honda blackbird in around 1989 ish. It frightened me to death holding 3rd gear to the redline. The surroundings were moving faster than my brain. Ithought my vfr was a fast nice manageable bike. This thing put me off blackbird/hayabusa style bikes. Hard to turn due to their length wheelbase and just so overpowered. Admittedly was Ona test drive so giving it some beans so don’t know what like to ride sensibly but both bikes supremely over engineered and reliable. I was following a hayabusa in wales recently and in the bends I was easily able to keep with him but as soon as there was a straight it was like I was stood still and the exhaust sounded like he wasn’t even gunning it just using oodles of torque. Looked so uncomfortable though to stay in that position for hours
I bought a Blackbird for £800 a few years back. I overhauled the brakes and put a fresh pair of tyres on and it sailed through it's MOT. Absolute bargain!!!
I am surprised no has brought one out again for the nostalgia off it loads off people wore them but sadly not me as I was a mod in the 70s with my Parker and lambie scoot
If you think a r1100gs having 80hp and the hiyabusa having 175hp is comparable. You missing the point. The bmw would've probably had 6x the torque at lower rpm. That was how the bike was designed. Besides the fact its an air/oil cooled twin.
@volt8684 that is impressive torque but I guess it is like a 1.3 car engine. Definitely tortoise and hare . Anyone who buys an 80hp GS shouldn't be expecting sports bike performance.
I think my girlfriend would kill me if I proposed on a motorbike trip XD. She's wonderful in that she puts up with my obsession, but she does so very reluctantly.

Ah, but 35 year old fluids & perishables?! (Dramatic & chem-corrosive chord : )
Any news on the triumph Freddie or have I missed the update?
The mechanic has the part, but he has a huge backlog of work, so it’s currently in the queue to be worked on. I reeeeeally hope any day now🤞🏼
Sorry to say it Freddie but you should be first in the backlog. T
You’ve been waiting how long? And you are at the back. You need to find a new guy.
That is a ludicrous bargain for so much bike!
@@tuesdayatdobbs I was at the right place at the right time
A donkey is a working man's jacket from the 70s and 80s
Thanks Kenneth. That is a totally new one for me!
I am surprised no has brought one out again for the nostalgia off it loads off people wore them but sadly not me as I was a mod in the 70s with my Parker and lambie scoot
I used to love my Donkey Jacket.......
Suzuki Hayabusa: Butt ugly, unnecessary, too fast, pointless. I've just run in my 6th, a Gen 3. Ain't no other bike like it....
If you think a r1100gs having 80hp and the hiyabusa having 175hp is comparable. You missing the point. The bmw would've probably had 6x the torque at lower rpm. That was how the bike was designed. Besides the fact its an air/oil cooled twin.
Not so …….bmw max torque 97nm at 5500rpm, Hayabusa 150nm at 7000rpm. Slight weight difference but… tortoise and hare
Those were the days, sex, drugs and rock and roll. Now it’s specs, rugs and sausage rolls !
Freddie. Love the content on all youre channels. Super informative. However, in all your Tuesday at Dobbs bids you look like you are melting. Feel like you need a defuser on your lighting set up. It's like watching a man who is about to pass out from heat stroke!
Vids
Ahhhh Thanks Paul! I was wondering why I always look like I’m recording the videos in 38degree heat, even when I’m not remotely hot

I appreciate its an 05 bike but they have had many many re calls re the fuel pumps in one form or another and I am not preprade to let this company walk all over me I also understand this is not your normal re mit / request and if its not what you wish to get involved in I also 100% understand but Iam going to make as much noise on this one as I can becuse its just not right "principal of the thing" Hence contacting all folk that count in the biking world ??? I am 70 years old and had many many bikes not one has let me down in this form and never ever has a company treated me in this disgusting way if there is anything you can do to help it would be much appreciated if not I do understand and no issue Cheers !!!
Love this channel great stories.. but just to be clear getting boosted up on amphet*** followed by grabbing and cooking a random sheep, I'd be willing to bet, was definitely not as romantic as Freddie dreamed here.. I bet it was F**kin awful in reality.. not my favourite email that one lol!
