@@DestinedJourney Absolutely!! I love MSC, even with a few hiccups but after 6 YC cruises, I have had 0 issues and will continue to sail with MSC in the YC
We were in the YC during Easter break of 2024 and it was a complete crap show. Inattentive drunken parents let their children run wild for 7 nights. This really lowered the quality of service of the YC. The butlers, wait staff and bartenders were ran ragged on this cruise. I spent most of my time at the SPA. I did take a cruise on Seashore in August 2024 and had an outstanding cruise with excellent service. This time I was not in the YC. The only thing I did not enjoy was the Butcher's Cut. The waiter was arrogant and snotty. However the food that was served was of quality.
Thanks for the video, I agree that the Seashore has evolved positively since coming to Port Canaveral from Europe earlier this year. My 3 cents on a few things if helpful for others: Agreed that buffet is solid now (they brought 37 chefs onboard for a 7 day to suggest improvements) Pool Towel exchange- I’ve been able to exchange with Pool Attendants (red shirts), at the Infinity Pool in particular on 8. They just go into some back room and bring out clean ones for you. Surprised at your 30 minute coffee experience at what looks like Brooklyn Cafe on 8. That has been my go to place for quick service perhaps some $2 bill tips have helped over 8 sailings;-). You can get $1 bills at the casino, either at the window or if not open there is a bill changer machine right across from it. Staff doesn’t expect tips, but I find it is worth it to make for a better experience. Butchers Cut- yeah, stick with the Filet. We generally don’t do the dining package and do ala carte, splitting a Filet or Ribeye. Our favorite app is the beet burrata, side is the creamed corn, dessert is lava cake. Bonus point- the live bands are high quality, and what gets me on the Seashore often. Le Caberet Rouge on 7 all the way aft is great. Jazz band in Brooklyn Cafe is very talented. (And they tend to come talk with guests after set, sit up front, oh and best seats are where you can see the Pianist Paulo’s fingers. Amazing, he just turned 21this month). Craig Fester is great, solo electric guitarist and singer. (Tell him Greg said Hi). And the foursome Ladies band was a great addition fairly recently. Yeah, I miss the paper daily planners too. But scan the QR to get the PDF version. I would use the MSC for Me app to build out your agenda as it is more accurate for music especially. Oh and Duo Family Gems (Wendy and Kevin) are great, changing ships soon tho. Atrium acoustics are a bit challenging for music, on 7 at bottom of steps is best as there is no ceiling. Brooklyn and Times Square plus Rouge are best sounding, if you care about that. Uptown Lounge is good too, usually Latino music. Have fun if anyone is getting on the ship soon! Ok, I guess that turned into at least my 4 cents.
@@gcpollard3560 That was more like a nickel! 🤣 Thanks so much for the feedback. We loved Hola Tacos above the other 2 specialty restaurants but it was so loud from the atrium music. I wish it was located in a different area.
@@DestinedJourney Agreed that Hola is great. 17.99 for all you can order, and don’t have to do it all at once. Honestly they are another reason for not doing the specialty restaurant package IMHO. Also they are the most likely to be open for lunch, even some port days. Even just to get a couple $2.50 tacos for something different (unfortunately can’t order food at the bar, but table service is usually quick). Remember also that the Sports Bar also has a few food options, while we are on 8 port side. I have only had the wings, and thought they were pretty good. Lastly, a new thing I saw earlier this week (started 2 weeks ago I heard)- Brooklyn Cafe from maybe 7:30-10am has some basic food set up for free, if you just want a quick bite and not buffet. Some pastries and I really liked the banana yogurt parfait. I usually go to the bar there in the morning to get the Very Berry Protein smoothie, then walk the outside deck on 8 to get some morning steps in. Other thing I failed to mention above is that if you need some cash for some reason (perhaps tipping), you can go to a slot machine, charge to room, cash out right away. No fee for room charging (Assuming you have a CC attached to room you can earn your CC cash back or points as a bonus) Ok, so that is now a nickel and two pennies.
@@gcpollard3560 I did not know the sports bar had food. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a menu or anyone eating there. I agree that Hola was a wasted dining package option since it’s so inexpensive. Good point about making it an inexpensive extra pay lunch. We were obsessed with the salsas.
MSC straight up ruined my vacation before it even started. I booked a 'free balcony upgrade' deal. They must of switched my room 20 times. I noticed it was a window not a balcony room. I called to explain this. It took me an hour to get anyone to understand IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BALCONY. They literally were in capable of reading the 'free BALCONY upgrade' name on the reservation. Once I finally reached someone with 4 brain cells who understood that, they told me it was impossible to get me to a balcony. I could only rebook (ie pay a thousand more AND not get the $500 credit). Mind you I already had flights, hotels for each end and a whole additional trip booked. What a piece of shit cruiseline. Royal fucked me over 2x also tho. First time telling me I could call later to book a bus to the cruise which turns out WAS NOT TRUE 7 days or something to the cruise, and second time they DOUBLE CHARGED ME THE WHOLE CRUISE INCLUDING SPENDING. Leaving me with no money on hand in florida. Which double charging has happened twice in vegas to me on a side note.
MSC is a wonderful cruise line. It’s European and a new line catering to class not fast food experts. It is by no means new in the ship industry, just newer for passenger cruising. You should stay off if you prefer American style. Serial complainers not welcome. Rome, Paris is MSC…….
Glad you enjoyed it. We are going on our 4th cruise this year on the seashore in December. We really love MSc. I also like paper menus and by the second night in the MDR they new We like paper menus so they always brought us 1 every night after that 😊
Thanks for offering a very balanced video with areas for improvement & MSC wins!
Thanks for watching!

@@aonshark2517 But is it worth the cost versus 3 or 4 cruises??? That is what I’m always trying to figure out.

@@dgaither3838 my belief is that the YC experience is lost (for the most part) on people 18 years old and younger.
