Mike is a sneaky bastard but in a good way. Not only he moves the pawn, a logic move that leads to a discovered check, he looks around his Knight and, most importantly, he doesn't say "Check".

@@rickmayer4002 It's not that you don't understand the rules. You completely understand! It's just that this is a different variation to Chess, similar to Touch vs. Clock move where players decide if you touch a piece, you have to move that and only piece.

Nice win by Mike! I thought he was done for, especially against Caesar. Caesar is a beast, with some really sneaky attacks. But every once in a while, he misses something obvious and it costs him. I can see him dominating in a classical chess format where there's no trash talking and he has plenty of time to analyze. I think he'd be the best one out there.

I didn't know it was legal to give a check without announcing + losing by making a move outside of forced moves to get out of check. If instead of the pawn take, Cesar played Kh1 what would be a continuation?

I dont know why they end their games if they hung their kings. They should repeat the move
It adds a different challenge to the field. In a normal war, if your king or general is vulnerable, no one is going to wait until someone is there protecting them, you take the chance to attack them. Same rule with this alternative chess rule, you have to be constant aware of your king's position as well. It's their fault for hanging their king and while it might not represent how Chess is normally played, it adds a bit of a challenge to it and makes the game just a bit harder.

I loved this game!! Curious tho: by what rules do you call this game where you don’t have to call “check”?
For some reason we all learn the game with someone telling us you have to say “check”, but it’s actually not a rule of the game. It would even be discouraged in tournament play as it’s a distraction to your opponent.

Okay I get Caesar didn't have much time. Is there any other reason he didn't play after the check? Sometimes I just don't get why these guys get up. He could've moved his pawn up for Mike's bishop to steal then moved his bishop up for the same thing then his rook. Mike wouldn't have been able to steal that. Caesar might've had a chance for Mike to run out of time if he did that quickly.

Maybe it's just me, but I think Big Cesar's trash talk is a bit over the line. It's one thing to playfully jab your opponent, but his comments seem a bit too harsh, almost mean. Especially for Mike.
