Not only did the owner lie to you but his condition is definitely at the fault of the owner because I have a dog with hair and if you bathe and brush regularly that doesn’t happen yeah you might get an occasional small mat that you just snip out with a scissor. Thank you for changing this dogs life. It was a lot for this dog to go through in one session. Maybe with severe cases like this it’s best if the dog is groomed in multiple sessions. Hopefully the selfish owner is grateful and keeps up with regular grooming and bathing.

I've watched many of your videos. It seems even the most aggressive and frightened dogs quickly understand you are helping and stop struggling and trying to bite. This one didn't! I know how much you like to leave the dogs looking beautiful. It's too bad this one didn't let you finish the job. Still, he's much better off with most of that hair gone. While you had the dog acting out, "I" would have also put a leash around the dog's waist and pulled it to the opposite pole. This humanely stops the dog from spinning on you with its head, or turning the body so that it can bite you. Also one makes the leash so that the dog is held standing up, which allows (majority) of the back, rump, and legs to be shaved - without having the hassles of the up-front end to finally deal with. As one then starts to do the chest and front legs, one puts a walking halter on the dog, again raised up so that all front paws, and then start dealing with the neck, head, and ears. Sounds cruel (not !), looks cruel (not !), and safer for the dog and the groomer(ette) in all cases - and when pooch is finally shaved down, then it can calm down from all the cutter noise and vibration - and onto the bath tub - where water noise is its only irritation.
This owner doesn't deserve the $100. He neglected the dog this entire time, plus failed to support the effort to have him groomed, couldn't even finish the face nor bath it. He should be offered a $100 gift cert at Groom House for future visit, not cash. Good job to you both for your attempt to help and educate.

Aggressive behaviour shows lack of social training and exercise....which also point to the obvious neglect. Why didnt you use a muzzle to prevent bites...though a muzzle would add to the aggression and grooming the face would be difficult

I groom my poodles myself. It isn’t hard to care for them if you aren’t a lazy ass. A brush works wonders. Invest in scissors and good clippers, plus blades. Way cheaper if you have little money. No excuse for anyone not to learn it or care for animals.
