Great video Scott!! I fished the st.Lawrence for 35 straight years. Started back in 1981. We were almost the only bass fisherman on the river at that time. Magical place
My mother's childhood home is at the bottom of it. they moved some homes in Canada and left some there. My Aunt watched it when the opened it up and let the water roll.
Scott is absolutely correct how neat it is to watch bass do what they were made to do. After 40 years of fishing I’m still enamored watching our Smallies come from under our sea wall to study a jerkbait for seconds then just inhale it all. It’s part of the magic of fishing. 🎣 ❤ Also I’m not sure about the NY area but on Lake Michigan I have great success with the Great Lakes Finesse juvy craws (pumpkin/orange) and any Nikko hellgrammite I’ve thrown for Smallies. Some days they really like the juvy’s popped off the bottom for reaction strikes. I’m sure you’ve tried them and know even more, but hope that helps someone here.
yo scott i bought a cert from you years ago back when you were a ranger guy. glad to see you are still slaying them. when its cold and rainy here im happy to watch your videos.
at 45 years old, fishing mississippi gas rigs, fishing fresh water in mississippi, i’ve learned the best fisheries in the world are where people can bank fish…this industry is just too expensive….spread the love for affordable accessible fishing in the USA
Great video Scott! have you considered bumping down to a medium light for a hair jig rod? many of us "Northerners" all run ML. i couldn't even imagine trying to whip out a 1/16 out in a breeze! cant wait for 2025 season!!

2:05 ... Scott: "McCoy... how many times have you beaten me? McCoy: "I don't think I've beat you lately, actually. I beat you once or twice."... Scott: "Maybe when I first played" walks out the room.... mic drop. LMAO
Born and raised on Chaumont Bay and the St. Lawrence. I've fished all over the US and I may be a bit biased but Lake Ontario will always be #1 in my book. Kissimmee and Okeechobee are up there as well tho now that I'm a FL resident. Both have giants respective of their species and both areas have beautiful and unique landscapes/ecosystems that make them special in their own right. This video did a fantastic job of showcasing what the Northern NY arenas have to offer for the avid bass angler! Another masterpiece @scottmartinchallenge !!!
Very little red tape on the NY Indian Reservations for dispensaries. Everybody goes to the rez for their weed, smokes, and chew. Much cheaper on the rez. Fuel, too!
Clayton NY baby!!!!! Alex Bay!!! Theresa!!! My summer home for 50 years. There is no way you are at Butterfield Lake! Try Clear Lake, one lake over, then stop by my house and say hi!!! There are a lot of gigantic bass in Butterfield. There's a few humps in Butterfield that hold tons of 4-5 pound large and smallmouth.

The reason it’s so many dispensaries, is the same reason it’s so many liquor stores in my neighborhood.

How many hours are you wasting driving that far to the lake and back?

You like that river but it's still not fl
sure, could use a new rod and reel
Black Lake is a better LMB fishery than Butterfield up that way.
It has changed because of the rampant use of the cheater box, needs to be banned in tournaments.
Who taught you how to Fiz? Please learn the "proper" way.I guess you didn't pay attention to Barbara when she taught you all.smh
