    Good review. I'm looking at this pack online, seeing to fit it when I get back to New Zealand

    Thank you so much for this detailed video! I've been looking for info about this bag for a while and before this video there was hardly any.
    Clear presentation and covered many details :)
    If you ever find out what the slippery bottom straps are for I'd like to know
    Edit: I found what the slippery bottom straps are for: if you slip them down they create 2 loops for ice axe, trekking poles, etc. If you slip them up the loops are neatly gone out of the way.. maybe helps prevent them catching onto things when you don't have anything attached to them.

    Any idea what the actual length of the metal support bar is? Im wondering if this would go on a plane as "large" hand luggae which is limited to 55cm length.

    I would use the long mystery pocket for a map

    Is it possible to remove the metal bar for further compression during flight e.g.?

    For those who are on the shorter side, read this. I'm 5'7, or 170cm tall and the mens version rides stupidly high when adjusted to proper height. You will be much better off getting the womens version.

      Unfortunately the women’s version also has a similar length rod and this can be inconvenient if you wear your hair in a pony tail through a hat. It tends to restrict head ‘upwards’ movement. That all said some people don’t mind the rod, others do. Personal choice.

      I'm 170cm . Glad I got the women's version. Thank you.

    I've heard people complain that the straps over time start digging into the shoulders as they are so narrow and thin. Have you found this?

    • @TheOutdoorsStation
      @TheOutdoorsStation ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't say I have found this. I've done a few 2 week trips with it with a medium load and found it comfortable. Have those comments come from people overloading the pack, or carrying maximum loads?

      @@TheOutdoorsStation it could possibly be people commenting on an older version of the rucksack. Maybe they have beefed up the padding on the newer versions

    You can remove the long side straps. I believe there is a loop at the end of them which is attached at the bottom of the side pockets no cutting needed. I also cut of the big internal pocket and belt pockets, find them more or less useless. In total saved me around 155 grams. Instead i use a OMM Chest pod, 90 grams.

    Is flash pocket stretchy?

    • @TheOutdoorsStation
      @TheOutdoorsStation หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it will stretch a bit, but it is a thicker mesh so doesn't have much 'give'.

    Definitely considered a light pack with volume…I agree the strapping is not up to standard for attachments….nice pack though.
    Kind regards
