  • Liv's road lineup has an all-new bike, and it's an extremely competitive light weight race machine. We've ridden a 6.05Kg eTap-equipped version, and here are our first impressions.

    One could argue that excitement is not what you would want in a race bike, where predictability would be preferred.
    Great review, I don't do road cycling, but it is exciting to see other kinds of amazing bikes.

    I have absolutely no reason to watch a video on women’s bikes, but Aoife’s reviews are always so good I watch them anyway :-)

    Interesting seeing the difference in philosophies among the major brands, with Specialized and Trek dropping women's specific geometry while Canyon commits to it. Also of note is Liv getting updates faster than Giant. I see the Langma has more aero treatment at the steerer/spacers/stem compared to the TCR for example. Plus the Liv Avow is not at all derived from the Trinity.

      yoog the reason for this is they are essentially different brands. The idea is that giant just keeps throwing money & recourses at liv and let them design their own bikes from the core giant design principles. This is why you see models that are similar on paper however are very differently designed bikes with features to suit the market. Personally I think it's the smartest marketing decision any bike brand has made about their female bikes

    Will you review the specialized allez sprint? It has a very unique frame with a special welding technolgy that allows for a massive and stiff bottom bracket.

    Aha! The other silky voice of BikeRadar narration. 👍🏻

    I'm not the target audience of this bike but I so like the review. BikeRadar does good job with these videos and I dare to say Aoife is my favourite presenter. (:

    Pretty new to BikeRadar, but it's refreshing to see 'normal' (but knowledgable) presenters - stops a good few people from feeling inadequate I think and therefore provides encouragement. Good stuff.

    Some days I feel like my caad10, the king of zing, doesn't have zing. Other days it feels like a rocket. Zing is a reflection of how your legs feel. You are a poor climber yet this ride was basically a mountain climbing event. Blame your legs, not the bike. I hope you get to ride it on your home turf like you suggested!

    Am I the only one who thinks the whole concept of women specific MTB and road bike is just pile of marketing BS?

      Lack of strength in the upper body and weight distribution makes sense. Women are built slightly differently than men, no reason their bikes shouldn't be built slightly differently.

      my wife always ask me for more front forward seat in her nongenderspecific cheap carbon bike even after got proper bike fitting. after she on liv everything done. women has longer leg shorter body than men at same body hight, I think.

  • @ChuiStrong
    @ChuiStrong 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why can't they just make smaller bikes for both male and females? Women specific design frames is ALL marketing. This makes it difficult for shorter MALE riders who want a bike that fit them.

    • @redetrigan
      @redetrigan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Difficult how? If you're saying that the women's frames aren't really substantially different from men's, shouldn't the men be able to ride them? Or are you saying that it would be too damaging to men's self-esteem to ride a bike designated for women?

      @@redetrigan too late o reply I guess, but I am a 5'3" male and bought a women's sized bike...fits like a glove...had to change saddle, but that we do anyway right? men who think women specific bikes is marketing BS are just salty..
