angela bluebird60 Yeah she’s lying about the death of her husband, stated that some things are better off to be silenced and not published to the public to preserve ”real democracy”. People like you are the problem in this country, not isis, not russia just gulliable people like you who are so soft and far from reality that it makes it hard to take whatever you say serious. I can go on and on about the problems, but i know that you will read this and wont even think about why im writing this, you just talk to people who shares youre view of ”reality” wich is very sad. Have a good one

What a lovely lady. The Post film is a really great legacy of her hard work.

She would be proud of her newspaper's role in holding another U.S. president with autocratic tendencies accountable.

In those days it was just hunky dory for the New York Slimes to publish secret docs. Now that President Trump LEGALLY possessed secret docs, the leftists are all up in arms. Spare me the fake outrage you POS

They said brave men and women are not those without a fear, but those who face their fears and walk the path they intended besides the fears their faced. Often while shitting their pants and GULPED all the way there.

I saw her speak at The Menil Collection during her book tour back in the day. I was struck by how she answered questions in a matter-of-fact manner, but also blended with a sense of humbleness & humor. I'll never forget her recounting how, back in the early days of her marriage to Phil Graham, her father (Eugene Meyer) was grooming him to take over the paper. He made it financially possible for them to purchase shares to keep the paper in the family, **but** the majority/controlling interest were in HIS name, as her father reasoned, "Because no man should work for his wife." She delivered that line in this slightly dry tone that managed to point to the paper's success on her watch without grandstanding or throwing the men in her life under the bus.
Her memoir is a terrific read.

I just watched the documentary "Watergate" and what Bernstein said that Kay Graham said made me respect her more than when I watched "The Post." Bernstein said that when the government was about to seize their notes, Kay Graham told them (if not, then through Bradlee) to go home and if anyone is going to jail, that is her. Wow.

It's a significant historical moment for which I am sure she lost sleep over it so it's memorable. It took a few people's courage together to make history.

Hey folks. Movies are great n all but why not pick up a good book. Here's a suggestion.
Author: Deborah Davis. Title: Katharine the great.
An excellent piece that could not be discredited. Not even by Katharine's lawyer team. No-one!
Also. Peter Janney has some excellent insight in his book of those times...
Available on Amazon and other good bookshops.
"To understand the actual world as it is, not as we should wish it to be, is the beginning of wisdom."
    Bertrand Russell
