Thanks so much for your interest in my videos and my brand "TheSalonGuy". It means the world to me! Watch celebrity Red Carpet Interviews, Fashion Events, Hair Shows, Celebrities, Motivation, Inspiration, Hair Tutorials, How To's, Education and videos in the Salon and Beauty Industry.
I started TheSalonGuy brand 5 years ago after the passing of my Mother and discovering a role model of mine who has a few books on turning your passion into a business. I have spent the last 20+ years in the salon industry, tech and fashion. I left the industry at some point to become a Fireman and Aux. Police Officer. I did 6 years service and resigned shortly after 9/11.
I have a passion for helping people, educating and motivating. I work with major brands, local businesses and individuals looking to expand and grow.
I am posting videos every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7am EST. My videos will be focused on celebrity hairstyles, athletes, models, actors, social media stars and event videos.

Especially for clients that just received a color service I tell them that using products I recommend and sell allows me to guarantee the service results until it's time for another. If they buy elsewhere, I have no idea what they are putting on their hair as it may fade color quickly. My products won't. Invest in good color it just makes sense to invest in good salon products. And it supports the local small business person.
This was very informative. I like that you said we have these available to u! Nice

How do you track which clients have bought the products already? You don't want to keep repeating the same things & have the client feel pressured or dislike coming because of the constant product placement. As a consumer, I usually don't buy products at a salon unless the products can't be found elsewhere. Stores like Ulta or Sephora offer loyalty points & have sales. Another issue is people trying to save money by sticking with drugstore products.
+Anne Araullo Great question and soooo many responses to this.
A salon can keep track of what they purchased through the software system they have.
You should remember what you are suggesting to your clients. Or just make it a simple "did you get this last time?"
Many drugstore products are all backdoor, potentially older even fakes. This is an ongoing challenge so I say but where/what you feel most comfortable.
Thanks for replying. So, do stylists look at client records before their appointments? By drugstore products - I mean mass market brands not salon brands that have been diverted.
+Anne Araullo I do but I also always ask if they need more or where they are on products. I have my own, not in stores, so it's easier for me.
