It´s not directly the quickshifter who makes the crackling noise, but it´s the fuel ignition. BMW did this on purpose so it sounds awesome. They just inject some extra fuel when going off the throttle or shifting with the QS so the it gets into the hot exhaust where it "explodes".
iCu No. AIR gets injected (or pulled rather) into the exhaust system not FUEL. And they do it to burn unburnt fuel left over after the combustion process. The purpose of the air injection system (or in BMW's case "PAIR") is to meet smog standards. The cool crackling sound is just a bonus. However, this can get out of control when you switch out some stock exhausts, as most factory bikes are already tuned super lean, and changing exhausts can turn those nice crackles into loud, annoying pops.
Oh man beautiful bike and exhaust. I'm totally happy with my 08 R6 and can't even ride it to half its potential, but I still love to admire beautiful and powerful bikes on TH-cam.
I have the same exhaust on my RSV4 RR and love it. It's insanely loud to the point you need ear plugs at just idle (which I always wear anyway). The popping you are hearing on decel is the SAI/air secondary valve. It was really bad on my 675R I had. On the Aprilia it's nonexistent thanks to the race ecu. Awesome bike, hope you enjoy it! I was one of the bikes on my list when looking for a new one.
I am Iron Man I've got to hear all 3 in real life. To make a proper decision. The SC, akra carbon and Ti. But I do like to try an be different to all the other MT's out there. The Zard sounds interesting too. But if the guys who do the SC sway me with a sweet bargain I may consider
Yoshi's are pretty good. This is why bike meets are awesome. Get to see and hear all the mods, Informed decisions for the win. And reduced risk of buyers remorse. All depends on the health of an individual's ears too.
Very nice exhaust. It gives the bike a great race appearance and sound. I had to put the silencer back on my mivv gp series exhaust on my cbr1000rr because I lost some hearing in my right ear.
I believe RJ has Austin racing titanium pipes and switches between an akrapovic and Austin racing slip on thingie. I'm pretty sure the S1000R and S1000RR would sound the same with the same pipes because same engine, no?
Just remember stage 2 silencer will decrease horsepower, besides mine doesn't have a baffle (636 with m4 GP slip on) because mine melted in 1000km ahaha
Zed Zexer I have the same. I'm going deaf in my right ear lol. If you put a stage 2 in it, you'll lose at least 10 HP. Just wear earplugs or buy a more soundproof helmet
Sounds great, but I prefer the looks of the Akro which is what I put on mine. Everyone has their own tastes, but as long as you are happy and like what you have you can't go wrong. Ride safe and beautiful machine man!
I used to have a 1998 fazor 600 with a cheap lextek end can without the baffle (bought it like that) fair to say it almost made me not want to ride locally because I felt so guilty for the naighbours that it was so loud. But out on the biggers roads I LOVED IT
Almost got this pipe you have. Seen a video of a full version, it was absolutely the loudest can I've heard on these bikes. I didn't get one because I didn't know much about them. I wanted akra but I don't like the large cans I wanted a shorty and there aren't any or right now. I ended up going with the arrow evo full system. Waiting impatiently for it to come in. Hopefully any day now :) Btw I love love love the sound of your exhaust. I hope it treats you well.

This is the video that actually got me to get a bmw s1000rr over a yamaha R1 Crossplane, Im so happy with the bike and hooolyyy shit does it sound good. I did remove the SC project i ordered for the bike because it was simply tooo loud for me. Got a Termignoni slip on (attached to the rest of the full system) and oh boy does is sound nice.
Man, the slip on makes a difference but the muffler box (I think that's what it is, please correct me if I'm wrong) is freaking brutal, keeps it down so much.
Im with you for the fact that I love the sound of the stock exhaust. I get compliments on the sound about every time I go out. But the look is not so great, way to bulky. After watching this video I may just have to change it now. That looks and sounds sick! Thanks for always making great videos!

The Ginga On A Ninja From videos the Zard sounds a bit scattered and whiney, it's hard to tell. Both the IXIL L3X and Yoshi are impressive to my ears.

Pretty sure the popping on the overrun is just from the AIS/PAIR, not the quickshifter. My FZ-09 does the exact same thing.
