Un placer indescriptible!!!!!
MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!!!!!!
CERQUETTI VOCE IMPRESSIONANTE, TEMPERAMENTO DI FUOCO E FEDELE ALLO SPARTITO!
The best
Anita Cerquetti !!
Gracias
Nearly brought me to tears!🐦⬛🌷💞💞😭
All the singers absolutely incredible! How can different flowers be compared? Everyone is different but incredibly beautiful in their own way!
Totalmente de acuerdo.
❤
Cerquetti,Tebaldi, tecnica vocale ineguagliabile, potenza di espressione , perfetta dizione❤❤✨✨✨✨
Tebaldi♥♥♥♥
Leyla Gencer and Magda Olivero and Virginia Zeani the best!
Very nice to hear the heart and soul of each. I’m
Partial to the Great Italian ones. Muzio , Tebaldi, Ponselle. I love the Turkish lady too not just because it’s a Turkish opera site. I think Gencer could match Callad w power . Many other great singers here for sure. Everyone knows which are in the old style . Rethberg the Germanizie isn’t so perfect but everything she sings has a little magic in the voice. Southerland for a non Italian is very good . They all were a pleasure thank you. ( as far as Price goes she’s wonderful but I’d put her in the Aida group if you do that one . ( why complain about leaving her out the guy went thru all this trouble did a beautiful job)Renata Scotto just died and she was left out but it’s impossible to think of everyone. So many Golden Age ones that need to be remembered.
Ponselle, Callas, Tebaldi
Montserrat just blends the notes so perfectly. Like da Vinci painting shadow
And as usual smushes up the words and even leave off the final syllable of cosi. Great singer but terrible pronunciation.
I love Caballe but here, to me, she sounds as if she spoke English all day before that recording was made
@brankobulovic167 oh now, I'll have to listen to this one again😃❤️
@@vivian9187 user-gt is correct, (as much as I like her, I can't help but notice) instead of "cosi" she says "co_ooooo"
How blessed we have been to have these beautiful voices--all superb. Any today to match them?
Lina Bruna Rasa, not only incredible voice but very emotional.
Im know the purisrs will be hating on me but music is for the listener and for me the more modern Filippa Giordano version touches me like no other .
Only Boninsegna, Rethberg, Sutherland, Bruna Rasa, Callas, Melba, Vallin and Pacini sing this phrase as written, without an extra breath between 'perche' and 'signor'.
But this is only i'm those recodings....Caballe it's way better
WoW great selection of divas! I must say that Tebaldi here is my favorite even though Callas is Tosca for me.
Absolutely TEBADLI & MILANOV!!!
I have a Tosca recording from Covent Garden with Zinka Milanov and Franco Corelli. What a team they made.
This was a stunning compilation!! Thank you so much!
Wow!!!!!!
🐦🐕🌷🐦⬛
Missing from this line up - Grace Bumbry; and Renata Scotto
However, when on listens to Vissi D’arte, it is the color, the technical skills of breath control, and the delicacy of the pianissimo. And, when all those things are considered, without question the total package belongs to Tebaldi, and Caballé! There are also a few others that I’d rather listen to as well - Ponsell; Sutherland; and for sure Nilsson.
My personal favourites from these examples are Callas(of course) and Anita Cerquetti. Let's not forget to mention queen Obraztsova, the only mezzo here, who did a great job with this aria.
I found Rysanek's interpretation a bit odd, how old she was in this recording 🤔
Dame as Callas ...more than 45 ...and ...Even Rysanck sounds better
Their decrescendos and pianissimos are fantastic - does any living opera singer have gorgeous dynamics? Thank you for this excellent compilation.
Tebaldi, Nilsson, Olivero, Sutherland, Ponselle
Steber and Olivero ❤❤
I believe the very first recording of Vissi d’arte is the 1901 Red G&T of Medea Mei Figner. It still holds up against many later recordings, as does the 1902 G&T of Salomea Kruszelnicka. These two were bone fide prime donne. The former created Lisa in Queen of Spades and the latter created the more “dramatic” Brescia version of Madama Butterfly.
Nilsson - 1972
Tebaldi - 07/01/1956, MET (a historical broadcast)
Thanks for information 🙏🏻
Sublime sound of Tebaldi shines out
Renata Tebaldi est une merveilleuse Tosca.
Leyla Gencer, Anita Cerquetti, Tebaldi
thanks you so much...nice to hear these unknown singers...
Wow! Amazing video!!Excellent singers!! I liked the most Olivero's performance. I think that if you had put Maria Callas in Covent Garden's famous performance, it would have been the best!! On that occasion Maria Callas revolutionized this aria in such a special way, changing the pianissimo for a fortissimo in "Signor", and the end in "Cossi" with her glottal projection is supreme. Thank you very much for the video!!!
Callas, Callas, Callas. No hay comparación posible
Chatbot BARD's favorite Tosca:
- Maria Callas is my favorite Tosca. She was a Greek-American soprano who was one of the most celebrated opera singers of the 20th century. She is best known for her dramatic roles, including Tosca, which she sang over 500 times in her career. Callas had a powerful voice and a passionate stage presence, and she was able to bring out the full range of emotions in the role of Tosca. She is considered to be one of the greatest Toscas of all time.
Here are some other Toscas that I enjoy:
Renata Tebaldi
Birgit Nilsson
Leontyne Price
Anja Silja
Maria Ewing
Thank you for sharing your ideas with us.
Completely unnecessary lecture on Callas.
Be kind.
500 times ? I think that Norma, Tosca etc. Maria Callas sang about 50 to 60 times.
Fascinating. Thankyou
Anita Cerquetti is one of my very favorite,.
A beautiful compilation! All very worthy of being heard and appreciated! Thank you!
Thanks for your nice comment. If there is an aria you want me to compare, you can write to me.
Tutte Meravigliose !
❤
Obtaztsova - vocalità poco adatta al repertorio, interpretazione poco professionale.
il vecchio
Ottima compilation con artiate tutte lodevoli! Mio personale parere, in vissi d’arte la Tebaldi asfalta chiunque senza alcuna pietà.
Brigitte, Montserrat and Renata!
Para a próxima compilação FÍGARO, obrigado
Callas indimenticabile ❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉
Di più, tantissimo di più!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Callas😍OMG...the supreme
Renata Tebali
apsolutno najlepši sopran pededetih godina - Anitta Cherquetti, glas neprevaziđene emotivnosti i snage
Cerquetti and Callas
Where is the incredible Leontyne Price's interpretation ? Pleeeeeaaase add it ! :)
Tutte bravissime! Ognuna con il proprio canto. ❤❤❤
Suena moderna. Callas la admiraba. Faltan Gheorghiu, Freni, Kavaibanska, Daniela Dessì… evidentemente no pueden estar todas!
It all depends on what you want to hear. Beautiful singing, perfect singing? Take your pick. Montserrat, Tebaldi, Nilsson, Boninsegna,...etc. Beautiful and expressive rendition of the aria? Perhaps, Milanov. Or someone else. However, If you want to hear Tosca, not a rendition of a area of Tosca but Tosca herself, i.e. a woman who can die or kill for her love - there is only one choice, I think. Maria. Maria Callas. Otherwise just about anyone in this list is great in her own way.
Callas = Kunst Diva; Everyone else = Stimme Diva?
Interesting, that there are only a few of them, who actually took "Perchè, Signor!" in one breath, as it's written: Boninsegna (01:29), Rethberg (05:09), Sutherland (06:37) and Callas (11:15).
Difficile scegliere la miglior performance.....
Todas son MARAVILLOSAS. CALLAS ETERNA
Tebaldi!
Missing my favorite, Leontyne Price.
la Tebaldi ! comparée à la Callas c'eet la meilleure
Tebaldi all the way, just the best Tosca but Ponselle and Milanov come a close second.
(TH-cam upload): "Rosa Ponselle - Vissi d'arte 1919 with sub-title"
You left out one of the best...Leontyne Price..
An another great compilation of golden singing. May I ask a simple request? Could you potentially do a video compiling Bass-Baritones and Baritones singing "Hai già vinta la causa", specifically, the coloratura section with the F#4 at the end?
Of course. I will try to fulfill your request. Might be a good comparison.
Absolute Wonderful Madness🤪🙃
Quanto Questa?
Ponselle!!
what about Leontyne Price? She was great at this Aria too
Olivero. That diminuendo from 10:32-10:45 was one of the most beautiful on this video!
Magda Olivero 😊
ANTONIETTA STELLA! (strangely enough not in the list)
Unfortunately Raina Kabaivanska is missing . Of these recordings Renata Tebaldi and Claudia Muzio are my preferred ones.
Indimenticabile Cerquetti malgrado la sua breve carriera!
Lunghissima passerella di dive.
Obraszova e Olivero per me.
looks like Callas might not be the best one.....
Uh, oh, fightin’ words!
Caballe's phrasing is just showing off.
Celestina Boninsegna is a prominent dramatic soprano in the late 19th century and early 20th century, although her acting is dull, her voice is always gigantic similar to Ponselle.
Given that only a single phrase of each artist is quoted, it becomes difficult to identify each singer by their individual timbre. It would be better to have fewer singers and more extended excerpts.
Vaya..
Alvear.
Angels😍😍😍😍
An odd choice for Montserrat Caballe, have heard wonderful renditions of this aria by Caballe, this wasnt one of them.Tebaldi and Cerquetti are splendid.
Tebaldi, Muzio, Cerquetti, Rethberg, Olivero, Steber ❤
Ever!!!
I'd love to hear comparisons of the Doll Song, the Jewel Song and the Bell Song ... Song to the Moon in Czech ... and Juliet's Waltz ... La Conzone di Doretta and Depuis Le Jour ... Guinse alfin il momento ... Una voce poco fa ... and dozens of other gorgeous soprano arias.... whatever one inspires you is fine.
¿Año de cada una de estas grabaciones?
Missing Farrell and Verrett. Great job!
I was about to ask about them.
Montserrat Caballé, Maria Callas
Angela Gheorghiu não está na lista... Ela também é ótima! 😊😊
Tebaldi; Milanov and Zeani
So sorry that Milanov is represented at a time when she was well past her prime. She would typically use her legendary high floating top notes - with decrescendo - in the passage just following this aria's climactic high Bflat, and always to memorable effect.
th-cam.com/video/oxPJaYt5bD4/w-d-xo.html
Callas, por su magia.
My favorite is missing on the list: Ljuba Welitsch.
This is just wonderful 😊 thank you!
Montserrat, the best, ever!
Wasn't she the Tosca who walked offstage at the end of the opera?
IMontserrat is the best and ever.
I like Sutherland's phrasing, breaking after the D instead of the F. I think it works well
