I went with the HD soft bag like this Saddlemen Tactical, and I love it! For the same reasons you mentioned. Strap it on when touring, toss it in the garage when I'm not. I have no rear seat on the Revival. so the reverse sissy bar mount won't work for me. I wish I had known about this bad when I purchased mine. Great review Ben!
I have that very bag! It’s amazing. Used it as a tour pack on the back of the Valkyrie and the Wing. Does great in the rain and has a ton of tie downs.
It's probably not going to fit over the Harley backrest . I thought same thing about tourpack but I'm really liking mine. Easy way to put on forget about using the over the pad trying to get those rods back in pain just get some of the 1.5 in roc straps makes it so easy we have the older style that loads from top. Make it so easy sit on the luggage rack the strap already on bag run them around the back clip pull the strap it never moved. Me and wife took another clothes for 5 days you'll figure it out what works
I have this bag. I do like it, only complaint is the rain cover doesn’t fit over the bag with stuff in the outer pockets, and it’s a strange height, may have been better slightly shorter and wider. Also my d ring came apart about 30 miles into my first ride with the bag thank God I had extra bungee cords to secure the bag until I found another ring.
I actually picked it for the height, they do have a shorter wider one but I don't like stuff that hangs over the seat or rack, the tighter to the bike the more I like it, I'll have to keep the rain sock fit in mind though, thanks for the heads up!
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews it actually rides on my Dyna Low Rider really well, and I got the tactical roll bag that expands and put that on top of this bag. I took a lot of stuff, you'd be shocked, it's all out on my clothesline hanging today after my trip home in the rain without the raincover on, oh well. Overall good bag, I'm looking at the 4200 and the 3500 BR? tactical, also the t bag style tactical, wondering how much those can hold??
@@CC-ys8qq Honestly I try to pack as light as possible so this has me covered for most trips I'll take. We'll see during the Homecoming Rally. I've got a 1k in a day scheduled to get there, hang from Thursday-Sun then heading home so that should be a good test
I am in a similar situation. A King tour pack can hold so much, but not a huge fan of the looks. I've been looking at these bags as well, you've got good timing.😄 I don't really take many trips, and wouldn't want a huge tour pack on my bike all the time, plus could save some money for other bike upgrades. Would it be possible to detach the sissy bar with the bag attached and bring the whole thing into a hotel?
If you're strapping this right to the sissy bar and letting it sit on the luggage rack that really shouldn't be an issue depending on how much the bag weighs and what you're good with handling

Can the bag be mounted so that it sits on the pillion seat so you can use it as a backrest? The pocket at the back looks very much like a backrest pad.
You can definitely mount this on either side of the sissy bar so it should sit on a pillion just fine. I'd pack it tight if you're planning to use it as a back rest though
Great looking bag. Way to big for a scooter but maybe it'll help tl with learning to wheelie lol Over all though seems like a well built, fully thought through bag, can't wait to see it in action with the rain fly and all 🤙🏼

I have the smaller saddleman roll bag on cargo rack. Looks good and great quality. Great for extra storage on trips with the wife.
