After archaeology, I come to history to explore my origins as I am in 1100 AD.
Part III of I, Chamundi.
I grew up, hearing a potentially historical account of a Princess of Andhra from the 11th century, Vasavambha. It is also the name of my eldest aunt, a custom to name first borns in the family as Vasavambha.
The story itself is a fascinating one, on the ethics of warfare, with this young girl taking it into her hands to put an end to an impending senseless war.
There are little things in the choreography which, to derive enjoyment, needs an understanding of the socio-economic structure of those times, their underpinning values, and a singular cultural rhetoric
The varnashrama dharma, place of directions in ancient literature, mutuality of being and so on. Such cultural heritage!
