93 still had some great illustrators and amazing card art! Though, admittedly, not all the artists were up the task. Julie Bell, Brian Stelfreeze, Ray Lago, assorted Joe Jusko, etc for example, were the fantastic, standout artists! Though the random assortment of artists threw everyone off, this wouldn't be attempted again til the 95 artists....which would be down to 3 artists, such as Nelson, Scalon and Devries( from what I could remember). Also yes bro! Please do Marvel Masterpiece 94 with the Hildebrandt Brothers! A lot of their cards were friggin fantastic!!!!!!❤️
I have fond memories going to tons of different comic book shops trying to complete my set, got everything except 2 special edition cards. I thought the art was hit and miss but doing this with my friends was a lot of fun. Jusko was the best artist on this set 100%
I gotta see the 94 set! As a 6 yr old and loving the xmen TAS i only bought one pack when i went to the gas station with my dad. Didnt see them around or know about LCS at that time. I kept a beat up Beasy card as my only card for many years. Finally got the whole set for $20 a few years ago
This is dope. For me, in terms of card collecting, it was the 1993 Marvel Universe card series. Prior, I was most Spider-Man, X-Titles, and Captain America but the lore on the card set expanded my knowledge of the wider universe.
I’ve always dug the unique look of the backs of these cards! Sure, some of the artwork isn't quite my cup of tea-especially when I think about the stellar work Joe and the Hildebrandt brothers did with their 1992 and 1994 sets. Those were pure magic! Even so, this set has a special place in my heart. The quirks and charm of these backs totally hit that sweet spot, taking me back to the good ol' days. There's something irresistibly fun about them, and I can’t help but appreciate their nostalgic vibe.
93 was what get me into Marvel cards, I'm one year younger than you, was 8 years old in 93. Used to go down to Bedrock City on Westheimer in Houston and get pay for packs with quarters that I'd earn by doing chores for my dad, usually on a Friday night. That was also when I became a Deadpool fan. The 93 Jusko Deadpool card (#55) was my favorite card of all for the longest time. So much so that in 1995 for my 10th birthday my dad, who was working for an advertising company at the time, paid to have the card blown up into a poster, which is hanging behind me as I type this. I gotta say I prefer the 93 set over the 92, but for real the 93 is my all time favorite, probably for nostalgia regions. I lost all my cards in 2003 after my mom died and her 3rd husband threw away everything I owned (including a perfect condition misprint), but I recently started buying all the old sets I used to have. Loving your vids!
Jusko 92 set was the best. And I remember feeling the same way when collecting 93, different artist and instantly recognizing Juskos art. Crazy how all That leaves a lasting memory on a kid. Definitely would love to see more Masterpiece videos.
For me, I was in 3rd grade when this set came out and I was obsessed. This Deadpool card was my first introduction to the character and he's been a favorite ever since. Def would love to see more card set breakdowns like this.
Greetings Master Gem, 😅 I love that. Hey, I put away that set, but now that your detailing I need to pull all of them out & compare mine with yours. Well here goes the digging, let you know my difference. Love being a GEMINITE. 👍👊💥
I’m completely with you. The 92 Masterpieces and the Marvel Universe series 3 completely hooked me on comics when I knew absolutely nothing about them!!
My dude. the cards EACH go for over a hundred when graded by Beckett. Some of them in the thousands. The captain america at a Beckett 10 actively goes for over $10,000. Ive seen captain america sell for $16,000 in the late 2010s. Now you can still see it for like $14k sometimes but it goes for around $10k. Others like gambit around $400-$2,000 These are some of the most rare cards ever. Next to some of the batman cards. Get AL OF THESE GRADED and make $100k. Im not joking. These cards are insane. Unless theyre heavily damaged theyre extremely expensive. And again when graded theyre top of the top for marvel memorabilia.. If you dont believe me do the research.
I remember my older bro got me a SICK marvel card collection and overtime I just lost it. Honestly my DBZ figures and that card collection, along with some techno songs, they're huge regrets from my childhood that I lost.
It was the 1991 Marvel Universe Series II set that introduced me to many of the characters. I loved how they had the stats on the back (strength, agility, etc.) I used to trade cards with other kids on the playground. We assigned value based on the stats; I think I traded a Galactus for a dozen cards lol.
As someone with aging eyes, a magnifying glass on the the desktop can come in handy. I always have one or two or twelve within reach. I sorta collect them now. Thanks.
Cool Video. I really enjoy comic book card collections. They don’t have to be painted art but if they are no one does it better than Joe Jusko… NO ONE. I became a huge Jusko fan as a kid reading Savage Sword Of Conan. Joe’s cover art was amazing. Just think, he stopped being an artist & became a NYC police officer. Art was his true calling & he went back full time thankfully. I met him a few times & he’s a super nice guy, not all comic creators are. I’d say he can paint any character well but his Conan is top level. Frank Frazetta paints a great Conan but Jusko’s version is the Ultimate Conan. ⚔️
Thanks for going through this set. I enjoyed this masterpiece series but like you I’m a bigger fan of ‘92. Hot take: Some are better if not on par with ‘92.
Mid 90s cards got me obsessed to, JULIE BELL is probabaly my favorite still image artist of all time, and it all started with marvel cards. I would love to own one of her original paintings from any of the sets. Additionally I became fans of Boris Vallejo and The Hildebrandt bros. I thank marvel for introducing me to such amazing artists as a child and solidifying a lot of core memories and influences 😍
If you place the Human Torch, Captain America and Sub-Mariner next to each other it creates a connected image by Steranko. I think Marvel did not get the memo from Steranko on this as I think he was doing more of a Golden Age Torch rather than a Silver Age Torch as the bio describes on the back of the card
93 MM cards were great... Love some of the artwork in these, however, what I'm disappointed with these are lacked of other characters like Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Apocalypse, Galactus and other Spider-Man's villains (doc ock, green goblin, etc) especially other villains that appeared in Secret Wars (wreckers, Ultron, Kang, etc)
Love these cards made. Definitely the Jusko ones really are the best from this set. I love the 94 set as well by the Hildebrandt brothers. Bust them out next bud.
I used to have the complete MM 92 set just like u but it was stolen from me by this other kid at school. I was in the 7th grade. Shame on me for taking it to school in the first place. I still have the complete 93 set minus the X-Men 2099 chase cards. I think u should do more of these videos featuring the 94, 95, and so on. Love ur content man. Have a blessed day bro.
For me , it was the Marvel Series 1 Trading Cards. Dear God, they are still cool to this day. Those and Series 2. I have a mint set of the first 3 series.
I've got complete 90's Masterpieces sets, they are some of my prized possessions. Ranked from best to worst, based on the art and my opinion... 96, 94, 95, 92, 93.
I still have a bunch of these in folders haha and I also have folders with ‘AHH DINOSAURS’, ‘Terminator 2’ ‘Batman’ ‘Jurassic Park’ & a bunch more bizarre sets!
I had a few of these cards back in the day, I remember the hulk and the wolverine and I just remember looking at the wolverine and wondering if they couldn't hire anyone or know how to paint or draw.
Love the Joe Jusko Marvel Masterpiece series. Was able to collect all the cards and have Mr. Jusko sign them. Lost this set and all the promo cards, chase cards and even comic store promotional poster all signed by Joe Jusko in a fire. 😞
My first Marvel Masterpieces set was the ‘94 set done by Greg and Tim Hildebrand. Still one of my top sets. Would love for you to do a video on those Gem! Nothing though, for me, beats the 94 Fleer X-men set though, that was my gateway drug into trading cards!
I don’t think I ever made one when the cards were lose. I have a video of the framed set for sure. You can search gem mint collectibles 1992 marvel masterpieces and it should pop up
93 set was okay. It had some Jusko in there which was nice. The art of the chase cards of the X-Men 2099 were nice as well. I wasn't a fan of some of the art, but it was cool that it introduced me to various artists like Julie Bell, whom I absolutely love as an artist. Overall it's probably the worst MM set. But I would say it's a good set. Not great, but still good. And at least it doesn't have 20 parallels and 15 chase sets to collect like modern stuff does!
As silly as it sounds, but you want to know what got me into comics? Captain Underpants. Elementary School. Later, my first REAL comic I've read was Batman Hush. I'm in my mid 20s now 😂😂😂
Consistency and uniformity were always appealing. If it was good art, the whole series was investable as a kid. Once they messed with that winning formula I was out.
93 was good, but the 92's were just amazing. I'd love to see videos covering the other sets
The 93 captain america goes for $10-$15k btw..... Jus sayin..
93 still had some great illustrators and amazing card art! Though, admittedly, not all the artists were up the task. Julie Bell, Brian Stelfreeze, Ray Lago, assorted Joe Jusko, etc for example, were the fantastic, standout artists! Also yes bro! Please do Marvel Masterpiece 94 with the Hildebrandt Brothers! A lot of their cards were friggin fantastic!!!!!!❤️
'93 is the one that got me into Comics. I had the full set and lost it in my 20's, but I did pick up a set a year ago. Memory alley.
I have fond memories going to tons of different comic book shops trying to complete my set, got everything except 2 special edition cards. I thought the art was hit and miss but doing this with my friends was a lot of fun. Jusko was the best artist on this set 100%
When I was kid, I had the 94 Marvel Masterpieces cards by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt.
I agree but to me, in 1993 and Marvel Cards still being new with lack luck of tech.... they are still awesome :)
I just located my old 90s Marvel cards from childhood over the weekend! What a coincidence for this video to drop right now! More please!
The 94 set with the Hildebrandts were fantastic.
This is dope. For me, in terms of card collecting, it was the 1993 Marvel Universe card series. Prior, I was most Spider-Man, X-Titles, and Captain America but the lore on the card set expanded my knowledge of the wider universe.

Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about your mom and your childhood cards.
Jusko 92 set was the best. And I remember feeling the same way when collecting 93, different artist and instantly recognizing Juskos art. Crazy how all
That leaves a lasting memory on a kid.
Definitely would love to see more Masterpiece videos.

4:21 Yea that Iron Fist just jumps off the page, it looks so much better than everything else on that page.
Hell yea
I love Comic Cards. I always try to grab a new stack when I go to my LCS
Love mavel masterpieces. I hope to get a full set one day.
Good set, and yes, please do this for all the other sets :) Love cards !
Man I remember this set buying packs when I was young yea the art was everywhere love the Boris n Julie bell art n couple others
Greetings Master Gem, 😅 I love that. Hey, I put away that set, but now that your detailing I need to pull all of them out & compare mine with yours. Well here goes the digging, let you know my difference. Love being a GEMINITE. 👍👊💥
The only card collection I have 94 base set with a few of the big hits hiding away. Thanks for all your different content 🎉
I’m completely with you. The 92 Masterpieces and the Marvel Universe series 3 completely hooked me on comics when I knew absolutely nothing about them!!
Totally agree. I loved the energy in the Bill Sienkiewicz pieces, but the whole set lacked the cohesiveness of the Jusko set.
I liked how the 3 cards of Namor
Human torch
And
Captain America
Made an image of the original invaders
My dude. the cards EACH go for over a hundred when graded by Beckett. Some of them in the thousands. The captain america at a Beckett 10 actively goes for over $10,000. K its cool, only made like $70k off these cards myself since 2021.
Dude!! Loving the marvel card content. It’s always great for me to have marvel card content to consume.
🙌
I remember my older bro got me a SICK marvel card collection and overtime I just lost it. Honestly my DBZ figures and that card collection, along with some techno songs, they're huge regrets from my childhood that I lost.
Let's see them Marvel metal cards!!!
Yea love those too
I wasn’t having the best day today and then I watched this vid. It took my mind of everything and was just fun.
THANK YOU 🤗
🙌
As someone with aging eyes, a magnifying glass on the the desktop can come in handy. I always have one or two or twelve within reach. I sorta collect them now. Thanks.
I was actually thinking about that lol
Old card content from you is the best.
They screw up the card order. Namor, human torch & Captain America go together are puzzles or one big image
Loved these growing up.
This took me back! Great content, man!
Absolutely, please do this kind of video for the 94 and 95 sets.
I did!
I’d love to see more card collection reviews even the non masterpiece sets.
Mid 90s cards got me obsessed to, JULIE BELL is probabaly my favorite still image artist of all time, and it all started with marvel cards. I’m a big fan of Boris and Julie as well
Not sure if you know but the human Torch. Namor and captain America all go together. Nice set of cards

I still have my set. I collected alot of comics and cards in the 90's glad i still have most of it
Love these cards made. Definitely the Jusko ones really are the best from this set. I love the 94 set as well by the Hildebrandt brothers. Bust them out next bud.
Love the card content Gem, keep it coming!
I used to have the complete MM 92 set just like u but it was stolen from me by this other kid at school. I was in the 7th grade. Shame on me for taking it to school in the first place. That is an awesome set you got there.
For me , it was the Marvel Series 1 Trading Cards. Dear God, they are still cool to this day. Those and Series 2. I have a mint set of the first 3 series.
Yeah I’m gonna have to make a video on my TMNT and power ranger trading cards
Best channel!! Have a great day!
🙌
Let see them all GEM 💎
I've got complete 90's Masterpieces sets, they are some of my prized possessions. Ranked from best to worst, based on the art and my opinion... 96, 94, 95, 92, 93.
I still have a bunch of these in folders haha and I also have folders with ‘AHH DINOSAURS’, ‘Terminator 2’ ‘Batman’ ‘Jurassic Park’ & a bunch more bizarre sets!
Review the 94 for sure!
Wow i had these when i was a kid and was thinking about them 2 days ago. Gem Mint is always listening lol
Hah weird
Absolutely loved the 90’s Xmen cards
I have some comics from the 90’s which still have the card set inserts still intact
I want to one day see a video of an ultimate collection of all of the 90s masterpieces sets
Yes more card video 😊
Love these so much. Classic shhhhhhhhh--.😤
I like connecting artwork. Its weird that Cap, Torch and Namor are the only connecting artwork in this set.
Love the look of the omni wall in this one!
Thanks!
Qué maravilla es impresionante 🙌🙌🙌
These are awesome!
Really good video Gem
🙌
I had a few of these cards back in the day, I remember the hulk and the wolverine and I just remember looking at the wolverine and wondering if they couldn't hire anyone or know how to paint or draw.
Lol
Thanks for sharing
92's were amazing. 👍👍🎉🎉
What’s everyone favorite card in this set?
Love the Joe Jusko Marvel Masterpiece series. Was able to collect all the cards and have Mr. Jusko sign them. Lost this set and all the promo cards, chase cards and even comic store promotional poster all signed by Joe Jusko in a fire. 😞
😫
My first Marvel Masterpieces set was the ‘94 set done by Greg and Tim Hildebrand. Still one of my top sets. Would love for you to do a video on those Gem!
Nothing though, for me, beats the 94 Fleer X-men set though, that was my gateway drug into trading cards!
I did that video last week, check it out!
@@GemMintCollectibles Thanks Gem, I noticed your ‘94 video not too long after I posted! I’m a bit slow on the uptake! lol.
Great video. Is The Thing really the only FF member to have a card here? That Torch is from the Invaders, so he doesn't count.
Do you have a video of the 92' set?
I don’t think I ever made one when the cards were lose. I have a video of the framed set for sure. You can search gem mint collectibles 1992 marvel masterpieces and it should pop up
keen to see the 1995 awesome vids i like the idea of collecting artist to
It’s up!
That Iron Fist 🔥
I had the yellow Wolverine three ring binder that held the cards
Used to have the 94 Spidey binder. Themed binders were the shit
Those are so dope ❤🔥🔥🔥
I met Jusko at a tiny con in pittsburgh and had him sign a couple cards in the early 90s. I think domino was one of them.
I met him for the first time last year at NYCC
I misremembered.. the cards I had him sign were the galactus card and then a promo card from the edgar rice boroughs series.
100% I collected hockey and baseball cards first, but stumbled onto marvel cards and loved the hell out of those
Yes! I had some baseball cards before i found the 92 set
All those cards are dope
As silly as it sounds, but you want to know what got me into comics? Captain Underpants. Elementary School. Later, my first REAL comic I've read was Batman Hush. I'm in my mid 20s now 😂😂😂
Cool video. I've always preferred the pencil and ink styles over the painted art. The Jim Lee Xmen cards are the goats to me
It would be cool if you did 94 and especially 95.
I do have those too
I still got those...lol
That’s cool, I have a a set from 95
Wow!!! 💎🪙💎
I love my card collections!! This is the one set I don't have.
And 92 is my favorite set and also what got me into comics! Man those were the days!! Trading cards on the sidewalk outside the comic shop.
Fucking same lol
Do you still have that one set on display in the shadow box?
I do! It’s at the bottom of the stairs leading into the basement
Lol Gem i walked into a local lcs in htown and they let me have this set for like 20 bucks, and you put it best let down
Consistency and uniformity were always appealing. If it was good art, the whole series was investable as a kid. Once they messed with that winning formula I was out.
damn! cool flashback to my childhood
Nice🎉
Please show the details of the card! The camera was too high to appreciate any of it.
Yea the cards I brought close to the camera looked great. Might be too long of a video to do them all like that though.
Where is Gem? Who is Gem? Why is Gem?
When is Gem?
I have the whole 1992 set
Yes
Looks like I drew that Night Thrasher. 😮
😂
Keep going
