You sure he's going to jail for a year? We ARE talking L.A. ya know. I'm surprised he'll even be arrested.....if so, out in a hour to do it all again!!
I'm sure most of us do respect Law Enforcement officers. Perhaps we sound like Monday morning quarterbacks, but not without reason. With that said, so many officers taken away from regular duties to engage in such a long pursuit is ridiculous. And to allow the driver to be in total control for over an hour kinda' makes one lose faith in the efficiency of the police department's ability to stop a this particular type of crime in progress.
Someone tell me why when they U turn and several units are behind all units follow the same trail when some of the last ones could turn in front of him and stop him. Also I understand no PIT over 35 mph in California. In Oklahoma I have seen it done at 70 mph and it works well every time.
I'm not an expert, but I heard they do that because of the line of fire. In case the suspect is armed he could start to shoot at the police. If he does that the police will shoot at him. If police is in front and also behind him they can't shoot because they could hit the other police group. Perfectly reasonable. Generally, the most effect tactics is not to stop the car with force but just to follow him and wait until he is tired, runs out of gas, runs over a tire stop strip or calms down and gives up. As long as he doesn't endanger other people they let him drive, but if he drives recklessly and risks other's lifes they change the tactics to intervene and stop him by pit maneuver or other actions.
@@HansRegli I can see not creating a crossfire. However California stands fifty feet back behind car doors that will not stop gunfire. There are enough of them to see if he pulls a gun and blow his head off. Stuff like this is the reason crime is rampant in many places. I live in a city rated number 8 as the safest city in the US. It is also rated number 4 as the best city in the US to live. Our PD does not put up with much of anything Our crime rate is way below national average.
These are down right dangerous and expensive to the public and should not be allowed. Pit maneuvers are dangerous and cause damage. Most any chase can be stopped in just a few minutes, safely for 35 cents. Just shoot a hole in the radiator. If the water don't drowned the engine out the lack of water will kill it.
I don't understand why they are playing His game and he is in charge right now. Take charge, break the windows (they said he has No weapons), drag him out and end this. I shudder to think how much the tax payers are investing in just this one chase. All those you televise seem to be the same variation on a theme (those who break the law seem to think they will be let go with a nod, wave and a smile). Law enforcement are so relaxed and patient to the point this guy keeps getting away. Amazing!
I truly congratulate these police officers for taking their time and not pressure to do whats wrong and let others lost their lives. they knew he was going to jail, so they didn’t need to rush.
What an amateur Police dept...can't do pit maneuvers..and then when suspect is so called...Boxed in...he gets away. Actually when he was boxed in the officers had the opportunity to shoot to kill at that point as they are allowed to whenever a vehicle becomes a lethal weapon. This is real Keystone cops action.
The tires had very likely already hit 'spike strips' and thus were probably already deflated, but some run-flat tires have the ability to continue to work for another 50 or 60 miles or more. A much better idea in the future may be to use a drone to automatically catch up to the car being chased, and spray paint the entire front windshield of a car, which could even be done while it's being chased. If the driver cannot see, the pursuit will end. This could be done very safely as long as the vehicle is not moving too quickly. - j q t -
Or maybe it’s because they can’t do anything because their hands are so tied in that horrible state by public opinion and weak district attorneys. The criminals have more rights in ca than the victims.
Come on, this is California !!! He’ll spend time in jail waiting trial or a plea bargain. Most likely a plea bargain with a 3 year probation deal and time spent. Then he can go home to do it all again.

remember that the cops are given a ton of toys and fast cars they are all alpha types they do not get to use the toys and chase people if they apprehend them right away lol watch the in car cameras they compete with each other to be in the lead or the pit or take the shot in a chase they are a gang and the winner gets the bad guy
I'm embarrassed to say this was me 😢 My life was unravelling and i just lost it, i am now out of jail and working through some stuff ❤
Hey, thank GOD u’r now on the right track. If we can only get people to think good B4 they do bad would be a plus. However, u’r a blessing when u see your worth!💯💪🏽
Mdr tu t inventes une vie.... 😂😂😂😂😂
These long chases put the public at risk of death. What good are 50 patrol cars behind a vehicle. A roadblock shut down the roadway order the suspect out no excape.
I don’t understand why people do this foolishness. You never get away especially with the helicopters on you!
You sure he's going to jail for a year? We ARE talking L.A. ya know. I'm surprised he'll even be arrested.....if so, out in a hour to do it all again!!
Only one thing I can say, respect the Police officers!
Ii
I'm sure most of us do respect Law Enforcement officers. Perhaps we sound like Monday morning quarterbacks, but not without reason. With that said, so many officers taken away from regular duties to engage in such a long pursuit is ridiculous. And to allow the driver to be in total control for over an hour kinda' makes one lose faith in the efficiency of the police department's ability to stop a this particular type of crime in progress.
Why bother the DA won't pursue charges and will probably release him or her by tomorrow
Unless they have a Trump 2020 bumper sticker. Then they will be in jail forever with no court date.
He looked Hispanic. Possibly illegal. Meaning he's privileged and will be out the next day
If its caused be a mental illness, this certainly looked like some kind of psychological breakdown.
Our PD does not put up with much of anything Our crime rate is way below national average.
well, the cops don't seem to want to do anything so maybe the civilians would do better.
Not good
Sofa ninja strikes again again.
4:30 they actually stop at an intersection. Nice to see everyone observing traffic signals.
Cheryl every time the guy stopped the cops stop like 3 cars behind him??
Wow. I just wonder what makes a person want to do these kinds of crimes
If you ever find out, let me know.
@@Lalalandmommy Will do
This is the state of Gavin Newsom.
7:00 "Let the cops do their job" . These cops remind me of the movie Demolition Man.
Would you just let this poor fellow pick up his stuffed-crust Supreme Pizza and go home?
I don't understand why they are playing His game and he is in charge right now. Take charge, break the windows (they said he has No weapons), drag him out and end this. I shudder to think how much the tax payers are investing in just this one chase. All those you televise seem to be the same variation on a theme (those who break the law seem to think they will be let go with a nod, wave and a smile). Law enforcement are so relaxed and patient to the point this guy keeps getting away. Amazing!
COPS please do not damage my CAR
We need clown music

NOW FINALLY HE'S TOTALY BLOCKED IN THE COPS FINALLY WISED UP. 'BOUT TIME
I'm watching wondering who will run out of petrol first.
"He's pinned again." "But that doesn't mean anything." Yeah, with these cops I can understand that statement
They keep asking about his tires. You could see them ripping apart. Now he's driving on rims
Nowisthetimetotakehimout
Im'a veteran and they should take control of the person
Hi

God bless officers, they really have a tuff job 😮
BRITISH cops would have boxed him in ages ago at less than 32.11 and they don't normally carry guns
Cool
This one was really good! The ending was like watching a movie , edge of my seat. Thanks for posting
Their more worried about scratching the paint on their vehicles than getting the guy stopped ,
When he reversed on the spike strip toss I was so happy for him. 😭😭😭😭😭
Really?
This is best ever I see, incredible work.
It’s ridiculous.Taking so long it might cause accident anytime and take 6 police car to chase 1
I truly congratulate these police officers for taking their time and not pressure to do whats wrong and let others lost their lives. they knew he was going to jail, so they didn’t need to rush.
lazy bums what they are
Weak
Guy in charge needs new job
😂, people and these type of comments
Bien por su desempeño SRS oficiales❤
What an amateur Police dept...can't do pit maneuvers..and then when suspect is so called...Boxed in...he gets away. Actually when he was boxed in the officers had the opportunity to shoot to kill at that point as they are allowed to whenever a vehicle becomes a lethal weapon. This is real Keystone cops action.
Those would be my (among others) tax dollars at play, er, work.
Shouldn't we shoot a tire when the criminal's vehicle stops?
Isn't that so stupid?
Actually yes. A tire will barely slow a bullet which will then hit pavement and ricochet into a random direction. It could potentially hit someone
Why didn't they use tear gas/pepper spray?
He has over powered the police right now being they let him just sit in the car having his own way.
The reporter keeps saying he's boxed in, boxed is like a square where he couldn't get out...They had him more like L'd in.
A dozen police cars surrounding the offender and he still managed to bypass them, incredible poor police performance.
Or maybe it’s because they can’t do anything because their hands are so tied in that horrible state by public opinion and weak district attorneys. The criminals have more rights in ca than the victims.
Who said COPS are EDUCATED?
Come on, this is California !!! He’ll spend time in jail waiting trial or a plea bargain. Most likely a plea bargain with a 3 year probation deal and time spent. Then he can go home to do it all again.
Exactly he wont get anything against him he will yell Mental health Issue and will get off!
Blacked out windows must be BANNED in California!
Know it all reporter giving wrong driving laws
I can't believe he went thru all this for a stolen car. This is crazy and stupid to say the least. I hope it was worth it.
Finally someone said it. Wanted to be in jail looks like it.
28:00 another example of how far channel 5 had gotten!!! Can't even operate his camera!!!
Too many people complaing about how the police are handling this, if they would have shot him you would complain about that too. Too many armchair cops on here! With the way people treat police today they have no other choice.
No matter how much help the LEOs get, they just stand and watch. Insurance will not pay for damages if you put yourself in the way of the perp.
Thanks Officers for taking your time and not putting other citizens in danger. You did your job to Protect and Serve. 👍🏼👏🏼 👮🚔
They didn't , What video did you watch ? This is the worse police department
in the planet
By taking their time they literally put more citizens in danger,,,
I was watching another video and the people only took some bread and the cops did pit and killed someone.
😮
This needs to be studied. Lots of room to improve.
They’re called “Less often lethal” anything else is intentionally misleading.
I have a question, is the police armed with a child's toy gun? The warning shot is a strong argument.
reminds me of the joke how many engineers does it take to fix a light bulb
Those car chase suspects must be charged right away with attempt of murder by a deadly weapon and must be fined $ 100 / km on the run.
Seems pretty obvious the female host is eating something while speaking, that’s a no no. No surprise she was missing some of the action when things happened lol
