i remember back in vanilla when i became a werewolf, there was only 1 viable way to become a werewolf or vampire.. and that was to be bitten by an npc... and we spent weeks learning their spawn locations and spawn times... (yes you could be bitten by a player back then too but those were very rare and most bites were being sold at high prices, i even made money after i became a WW)... fun times.
Dottz Gaming I got so lucky tho today my first time playing the game with a friend go to where that werewolf portal is then we ask this guy for a bite and gives it for free some other guy try charging us 50K

Morale of the story Vampire for Mage and Werewolf for Melee. pay attention to the build you want because it can be detremental to your character if it doesn't fit your build.
FYI, you can get rid of werewolf(certain) and vampire(don't know) by going into mages guild and finding the "priest" to ask to get rid of it, requires fee
Hey man. I'm glad I found your channel. I'm just starting ESO, and it seems a pretty nice MMO atm. Let's see if I can stick to it for a while, as the universe itself has never lured me into it. Maybe I should play Skyrim to get hyped.
So been playing eso for a week now and have been werewolf for like 2 days... I LOVE IT! The damage is so high, fun to play and as long as you devour enemies, you can stay werewolf. And this is just solo play, when in a group of 4 werewolves minimum, you can pretty much stay in werewolf form forever :p Great for stamina based builds :) Thanks for all the information btw ;)
I absolutely loved Skyrim & Oblivion on Xbox , & I was good at each of those games & played them again tons of times but I only tried playing ESO when it first came out & I was unsure what to really do it was much different for me I never really got into it but was thinking about trying it again so any tips so I actually know what I am doing n so I don't feel like I am aimlessly wondering around doing whatever mission I'd pass by
Thank you for this vid. I used to be a stamina based nightblade and became vamp but it didnt really work out. after making a new account i made it magika based templar and became ww and sure, it was really powerful and helpful in the start, but i eventually didnt need it anymore.
I like this game but I don't know. I'm a werewolf kind of guy and based off the werewolf I will buy the game. Do you think werewolf is good ? I like skyrim as they have the same abilities but the werewolf but the running and the way it looks look a bit weird to me and how the gameplay around werewolf looks
This sounds pretty neat I may not do this on my main toon, but i will definitely use this on an alt if nothing else then to see both quest lines and see what works what I like and what does not. Doltz did you do either one?

Yes both my sister and I and hopefully a friend or two would appreciate that very much since in any mmo guild is often 50% of the fun and 75% of the community. Do we need to make our characters when we do this Saturday or Sunday on any named server or is there just 1 for North America? Forgive my ignorance but I have only played eq then wow then ff14 so I do not know if it is just 1 server for all NA or what but yes we would both like that very much :). Is it a running joke to trick new players into going to a shrine and biting them? I guess I had it happen last night. I didn't realize what was happening until I did a search for Sanies Lupinus when I noticed it this morning. I'm trying you find out if it's reversible. If it's not then...I guess I'll have to get use to chasing horses and peeing on everything.
Jackalope88 uhhh no as people usually charge money for bites lol and yes! vamprisim and lycathropy are indeed curable. there is an NPC that'll remove it for a monetary fee
Oh man thank you for the help again! :) I'm really glad to hear that they're curable. I'm kinda curious now, how much would you pay for a bite from another player if you were going to go that route? After hearing that and hearing it's also available for 1500 crowns, maybe I should take it as a blessing instead of a curse...curse.
Tarquin Qazi yeah templars are the easiest class for beginner players because you're main spam able ability is also you're main heal and you get it early on in the game
i do agree with Daniel about sticking with one class as a new player and learning it to the best of your abilities. That being said, i believe the class that you stick with should be what you enjoy the most! if you find yourself enjoying the templar a lot more, make the switch! But as a new player, i would try to find what you enjoy most and stick with it, since there is alot to be done on each individual character in eso
I came here because I accidentally non purposely got infected by an npc werewolf. Based on this video I don't want to become one, but how do I get the Sanies Lupinus debuff to go off?

As a high elf, dps magika sorcerer build (im a returning player but i haven't played since release so there lots of new things that i dont know) would you recommend me becoming a vampire? Side note: your channel is really good and helpful, everything i've been not sure about or confused with i have been able to find help here so its definetaly getting my sub :)
I think both of these needs a revamp. Better passives, and more abilities would be nice. I also think there be some type of guild that vamps and wolves can join in game. Like a little story line. Kinda like what they did in skyrim
the only issue with some of those is that they might them become mandatory for players. they wanna keep that risk vs reward balance. i think WW needs some tuning for sure, and some of the vamp abilities could be better
Beeing a stamblade as a werewolf i felt I didn't use it often , so! I turned into a vampire and it's really good ... the sneak penalty is really good and the stam regen is nice too ... so I think that Stamina build as a vampire can work (:
it can! with the way the morrowind changes were, vampire actually is just as viable for stam as it is for magicka, since *everyone* could always use extra recovery
Dottz Gaming I have been away for some time now and the new patch sounds pretty bad for my NB ... is viper,veli bad now ??? If so I need to find something else instead of viper, any suggestion???
viper is turning into a dot set next patch instead of upfront dmg because it was busted AF. Vipers+Selenes was oneshotting people nearly instantaneously and needed to be tuned. Stamblades i think will still be good but just less OP then they were during 3.0
I would like to buy this game but am wondering: for being a werewolf: can you be a werewolf for unlimited time and how long does the transformation last? Or will you stay in your wolf form until you deactivate it?

I wonder why my warden pve tank build called "frostbite" by alcast has the vampire skillline in it ? I dont want to be werewolf or vampire and i wont become one but what benefits does a tank would have from being a vamp =?
If I purchase a werewolf/vampire from the crown story and then (for whatever reason) get cured later, would I have to repurchase the infection from the store if I wanted to become a werewolf/vampire again?

I have a question. I'm a vampire dragonknight tank. But I'm wondering if I made the right choice. I was told Vampire is good for tanks so I picked it but I tend to run out of stamina often (recently got a build respec scroll and changed from +40 stam +20 health in the character screen to the reverse). Seeing that only 2 of my skills actually use stamina, and I use stamina to dodge/block, should I switch to werewolf? The magic skills I have, I don't use often, I use 1 of taunting, another to pull enemies to me/myself to enemies although I could change that for a stamina skill that does the same and the last one currently is the drain essence, which I only included cause my health drops so often now, not sure if it's the reduced health recovery rate or what but after respec and becoming a vampire, I feel more squishy than before :( More health isn't great when I can't hold onto it...
Yes, vampire is good for tanks and actually helps your stamina sustain. if youre having stamina issues, its probably your build choice and not the fact that your a vampire. vampirism is good for the passives, not the skills
@@dottzgaming Ok, noted. I recently respec'd my attributes for +30 health and +30 stamina and I'm doing better. Still using drain essence for self healing though.
So since it was my first character and I didn't know exactly what I was doing, I made a Redgaurd templar which I don't think was the smartest choice, but I don't know which would be best for me. Vampire or Werewolf?
+Dairion Vann redguard Templar is fine for stamina And it depends. Do you wanna use werewolf form? Use lycanthropy. Do you want even more regen? Use vamprisim (mainly for PvP). Don't wanna use werewolf or have vampire drawbacks? Use neither . Up to you!
Dottz Gaming Thanks man! I appreciate it. The pros outweigh the cons for me in both vampire and werewolf. I've decided to go for DPS in dungeons so I'm thinking WW would be best suited for that
sooo if you become a werewolf does the passives affect you when ur transformed or do you not need to be transformed to get the passives and use the actives?
Joey Maroun the passives should say on then when they effect you, and whether or not you need to be transformed I found this on the forums regarding werewolf abilities: You get an extra bar (like the Sorc Overload extra bar), but you only see the bar while in werewolf form, so you waste a transform trying to set it up the first time

I have a WW stamina build, dps is crazy if you do it right and they are tanky on top of being able to heal/get an extra damage buff. Anyone know if the disease damage from infectious claws counts as a posion or is it a seperate category? I can't find any info on the mechanic.
That's what I though. Now being it is it's oen damage does posion and bleed damage stack with it? I play a dragonknight and I have seen my weapon abilties frock in WW form, ie fire or ice etc, if that's the case that's 3 heavy damage dots. I'm sure disease and bleed do for how fast I melt smaller enemies in WW form. Adding posion on top of that with the combustion ability is gonna be nuts.
Thanks for the guide. It seems that you would always be a Vampire, however, Werewolf involves transforming, which seems to limit the usefulness in a manner. Are there any problems with NPCs attacking you as a Vampire or Werewolf, like in the single-player games? Do vampire enemies ignore you as a vampire? As a new player, coming from other MMOs, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around there being so many skills, but you can only use five at a time. And if you want to level a skill, you need to have it on your active bar. So it seems so much doesn't get used. It also appears that the factions don't mean anything outside of PvP. I can go to any zone, be in a guild with other factions, play with other factions. So is that a mechanic only used for PvP and meaningless in PvE?
- There are no issues with NPCs attacking you as a vampire like there was in other TES games. - Other vampires still attack you - The high skill count, and only being able to use 12 at a time (10 abilities, 2 ults between your front and back bar) makes for a lot of build variety imo, and im a fan of it, but yeah it can seem like much is unused. i recommend as you level swapping skills in and out so they can be leveled up. As you reach end game you can always reset skill points or morphs and jsut use what you want. - Factions mean nothing outside of Cyrodiil, correct. It wasnt always that way, but the One Tamriel update is what implemented that. Factions will also mean nothing in the upcoming PvP battlegrounds that are being released with morrowind. Hope that helps clear things up!
Thanks for the info. Still trying to figure out what class I like most, as there is so much variation within a class, you can really be something totally different with the same character. Also have to learn to bar swap, that would open up my skill usage. Only annoying part, with a Sorc, is that when I bar swap, my pet disappears, so makes it hard to be useful in combat.
Yeah there is so much variation! thats why i always recommend people play the class whos class skills appeal to them the most and look the coolest, since all classes can fit all roles. and yes you unlock bar swap at level 15! its weird at first; i struggled with it too at first. but the more and more you play it becomes second nature. And i would have to think if you have your pet ability on both bars it wont be unsummoned, but ive never played a sorc so i cant 100% confirm that. but yeah i could see why that would be annoying
Jstacckz I recommend you go to your local vampire shrine in game. Go to text chat and ask nicely if someone will bite you. I've done this twice and had nice people bite me for free both times.
I recently noticed on one of my characters that vampirism is listed in the active effects on the character sheet. Since I didn't do anything to achieve that, I assume I must have been bitten by one of these bloodfiends without noticing. However, I can't find any skill line related to this whatsoever... Anyone have an idea what's going on here?^^
first I'd like to say that this is an amazing video. very well explained, and very detailed. but incredibly simple to follow. however. i am still torn between not being a vampire on my high elf sorc or not. I use fire staff as often as I can for the elemental blockade and clench staff abilities. but it seems a lot of the worm kings minions and indeed undead in delves and dungeons. use fire staves. I'm not sure how I can compete with them as a vampire. I like how NPC guards and civis won't attack you unlike skyrim. that is very nice. but the increased fire damage I'd take kinda puts me off. you said there's a skill passive that reduces it? that gives me something to think about. however as a dps sorc who rarely does group stuff I'd like to be able to solo alot of the delves. public dungeons I'd obvs get a team for. but unless the healer is really good I feel I'd slow them down as a vampire having to constantly rush away or use all my mana on my clanfear heal ability. I spouse I could do it.. but currently I split mana and health attrb evenly and when I have an odd number of attrb to asign I put one in stam for my rolls in combat. you've given me a lot more to think about and I may actually try vampire. is it easy to find the priests you remove it if I dont like it?

I get fire weakness.. but I don't like that so many enemies use fire staves in dungeons and delves. specially the worm cult and some undead mages. although I do like casually running into blood fiends and massacring them with my fire staff elemental blockade and clench. spam staff down to create fire. blast each of them with clench to knock them back and deal extra dot then lay into them with my staff and keep dropping wall and clench. occasionally throw clanfear heal to keep it alive and health me if needed. obviously there's a bit of running around because they like to appear behind you but aoe is nice. be nice if sorc could have access to fire skills line and frost. personally wouldn't use frost but storm and fire. OMG the havoc one could unleash

It only has one benefit when not in werewolf form, if you have it slotted in your ability bar you will get faster stamina regen (15 percent I think, cant remember exactly)
Ah damn yes forgot about that when i commented (even though its in the video lol). You get 15% stamina recovery simply for having the were wolf ultimate slotted
how to counteract fire damage?? maybe there is a tree that increases fire resistance (dark elf has a natural fire ress ability but other races for example high elf??) ?? somebody knows?? to be vampire ( 4 sdtage) you take a lot of fire damage ...25%more is a lot...how to counteract it?? items ?? skills passives?? pls help is needed:D and sec.. can i cure vampirism or wv..??
The passive benefits that you gain from vampire outweigh the fire resistance negative. Also keep in mind bretons also have racial spell resistance so thats another race to choose if youre slightly worried about the dmg youll take. But, it isnt the end all be all. Like i said, the benefits are really good and make the extra fire dmg you take not the end of the world
Megan Carrington It hits like a nuclear bomb for both werewolves and vampires. Both have drawbacks but can be beneficial dependant on the build you make. Dawn breaker is just a chance you take going into pvp and it's a chance I take every evening joining my guild in Cyrodiil.
Idk... Seem to me that there are a lot of disadvantage as a werewolf. Werewolf have to deal with duration time, but don't really last long unless your in combat. Vampire... Well your stuck with vampire. The only downside are looks and very weak against fire. I love to be a werewolf, but wish I could stay in transformation without worrying about time limit. I hate to rush it. Vampirism (my opinion) are OP.
!!! So now the 15% stam regen for werewolfs is only in effect when the ulti is slotted? Is that correct? In the past it was always on, even in human form and with no ww ability slotted. Is vulnerability to poison and fighters guild now always or only in WW form (in the past it was only in WW form). Can somebody pls answer this, best someone who has tested (testing in duel with a friend shouldnt be a problem nowadays). Tahnks very much.
it says on the tooltip on that it requires you to have the ultimate slotted; it has changed since the past. in terms of the vulnerability to poison and fighters guild it only hits harder while used on a player in werewolf form.
I wish I could turn off the vampire look my redguard was supposed to look black and now her hair looks weird I wish it would at least slightly lighten her skin so she would still be black but whatever

I think vampire is still overpowered than werewolf, because you need just an armor with fire resistant and you have a vampire which can't so simpel dying. The only problem is the blood-problem. But I take the werewolf, because I like it and I don't have the blood problem

people still sell bites now and the mob spawns are still a pain to get, but its not hard to get a guildie to bite you for free

I believe the vamp ult page is incorrect. You don't turn invisible anymore but as long as have the ult active, you can teleport behind enemies

Werewolf, with the right uild, can be really strong. its an ultimate abiltiy in eso
I'd like to mention for anyone who wants to be a vampire but doesn't like the look, if you wear a disguise it hides the appearance changes.

So if you go vamp, do you have to use SPF500 sunscreen?
Roger Weston yeah you get the sunscreen when you get your vampire skill line to 10, you unlock a quest to get the sunscreen. it's some intense stuff

Oh man thank you for the help again! :) I'm really glad to hear that they're curable. I'm kinda curious now, how much would you pay for a bite from another player if you were going to go that route? After hearing that and hearing it's also available for 1500 crowns, maybe I should take it as a blessing instead of a curse...curse.

Tarquin Qazi yeah templars are the easiest class for beginner players because you're main spam able ability is also you're main heal and you get it early on in the game
i do agree with Daniel about sticking with one class as a new player and learning it to the best of your abilities. That being said, i believe the class that you stick with should be what you enjoy the most! if you find yourself enjoying the templar a lot more, make the switch! But as a new player, i would try to find what you enjoy most and stick with it, since there is alot to be done on each individual character in eso

I think both of these needs a revamp. Better passives, and more abilities would be nice. I also think there be some type of guild that vamps and wolves can join in game. Like a little story line. Kinda like what they did in skyrim
the only issue with some of those is that they might them become mandatory for players. they wanna keep that risk vs reward balance. i think WW needs some tuning for sure, and some of the vamp abilities could be better
Beeing a stamblade as a werewolf i felt I didn't use it often , so! I turned into a vampire and it's really good ... the sneak penalty is really good and the stam regen is nice too ... so I think that Stamina build as a vampire can work (:
it can! with the way the morrowind changes were, vampire actually is just as viable for stam as it is for magicka, since *everyone* could always use extra recovery

Stamblade is the best class next to magsorc atm.
viper is turning into a dot set next patch instead of upfront dmg because it was busted AF. Vipers+Selenes was oneshotting people nearly instantaneously and needed to be tuned. Stamblades i think will still be good but just less OP then they were during 3.0

You said the passive gives up to 83% damage reduction (WTF).
The tooltip clearly states that the maximum is 33%.

Vincent Ooms the duration isn't infinite. I believe it has a set time and can be extended based on kills and a couple others things from perks

Extra recovery and the undeath passive. it is by no means mandatory. it helps, but isnt mandatory by any means
If I purchase a werewolf/vampire from the crown story and then (for whatever reason) get cured later, would I have to repurchase the infection from the store if I wanted to become a werewolf/vampire again?

I have a question. I'm a vampire dragonknight tank. But I'm wondering if I made the right choice. I was told Vampire is good for tanks so I picked it but I tend to run out of stamina often (recently got a build respec scroll and changed from +40 stam +20 health in the character screen to the reverse). Seeing that only 2 of my skills actually use stamina, and I use stamina to dodge/block, should I switch to werewolf? The magic skills I have, I don't use often, I use 1 of taunting, another to pull enemies to me/myself to enemies although I could change that for a stamina skill that does the same and the last one currently is the drain essence, which I only included cause my health drops so often now, not sure if it's the reduced health recovery rate or what but after respec and becoming a vampire, I feel more squishy than before :(
More health isn't great when I can't hold onto it...
Yes, vampire is good for tanks and actually helps your stamina sustain. if youre having stamina issues, its probably your build choice and not the fact that your a vampire. vampirism is good for the passives, not the skills
@@dottzgaming Ok, noted. I recently respec'd my attributes for +30 health and +30 stamina and I'm doing better. Still using drain essence for self healing though.

And it depends. Do you wanna use werewolf form? Use lycanthropy. Do you want even more regen? Use vamprisim (mainly for PvP). Don't wanna use werewolf or have vampire drawbacks? Use neither . Up to you!

I found this on the forums regarding werewolf abilities:
You get an extra bar (like the Sorc Overload extra bar), but you only see the bar while in werewolf form, so you waste a transform trying to set it up the first time

I have a WW stamina build, dps is crazy if you do it right and they are tanky on top of being able to heal/get an extra damage buff. Anyone know if the disease damage from infectious claws counts as a posion or is it a seperate category? I can't find any info on the mechanic.

That's what I though. Now being it is it's oen damage does posion and bleed damage stack with it? I play a dragonknight and I have seen my weapon abilties frock in WW form, ie fire or ice etc, if that's the case that's 3 heavy damage dots. I'm sure disease and bleed do for how fast I melt smaller enemies in WW form. Adding posion on top of that with the combustion ability is gonna be nuts.

It seems that you would always be a Vampire, however, Werewolf involves transforming, which seems to limit the usefulness in a manner.
Are there any problems with NPCs attacking you as a Vampire or Werewolf, like in the single-player games?

As a new player, coming from other MMOs, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around there being so many skills, but you can only use five at a time. And if you want to level a skill, you need to have it on your active bar. So it seems so much doesn't get used.
It also appears that the factions don't mean anything outside of PvP. I can go to any zone, be in a guild with other factions, play with other factions. So is that a mechanic only used for PvP and meaningless in PvE?
- There are no issues with NPCs attacking you as a vampire like there was in other TES games.
- Other vampires still attack you
- The high skill count, and only being able to use 12 at a time (10 abilities, 2 ults between your front and back bar) makes for a lot of build variety imo, and im a fan of it, but yeah it can seem like much is unused. i recommend as you level swapping skills in and out so they can be leveled up. As you reach end game you can always reset skill points or morphs and jsut use what you want.
- Factions mean nothing outside of Cyrodiil, correct. It wasnt always that way, but the One Tamriel update is what implemented that. Factions will also mean nothing in the upcoming PvP battlegrounds that are being released with morrowind.

Still trying to figure out what class I like most, as there is so much variation within a class, you can really be something totally different with the same character.
Also have to learn to bar swap, that would open up my skill usage. Only annoying part, with a Sorc, is that when I bar swap, my pet disappears, so makes it hard to be useful in combat.
Yeah there is so much variation! thats why i always recommend people play the class whos class skills appeal to them the most and look the coolest, since all classes can fit all roles.
and yes you unlock bar swap at level 15! its weird at first; i struggled with it too at first. but the more and more you play it becomes second nature.
And i would have to think if you have your pet ability on both bars it wont be unsummoned, but ive never played a sorc so i cant 100% confirm that. but yeah i could see why that would be annoying

Jstacckz I recommend you go to your local vampire shrine in game. Go to text chat and ask nicely if someone will bite you. I've done this twice and had nice people bite me for free both times.
I recently noticed on one of my characters that vampirism is listed in the active effects on the character sheet.
Since I didn't do anything to achieve that, I assume I must have been bitten by one of these bloodfiends without noticing. However, I can't find any skill line related to this whatsoever... Anyone have an idea what's going on here?^^
Yes! you need to get the quest that will allow you to unlock the vampire skill line. You will find it at any vampire alter :)

first I'd like to say that this is an amazing video. very well explained, and very detailed. but incredibly simple to follow.
however. i am still torn between not being a vampire on my high elf sorc or not. I use fire staff as often as I can for the elemental blockade and clench staff abilities. but it seems a lot of the worm kings minions and indeed undead in delves and dungeons. use fire staves. I'm not sure how I can compete with them as a vampire. I like how NPC guards and civis won't attack you unlike skyrim. that is very nice. but the increased fire damage I'd take kinda puts me off. you said there's a skill passive that reduces it? that gives me something to think about. however as a dps sorc who rarely does group stuff I'd like to be able to solo alot of the delves. public dungeons I'd obvs get a team for. but unless the healer is really good I feel I'd slow them down as a vampire having to constantly rush away or use all my mana on my clanfear heal ability. I spouse I could do it.. but currently I split mana and health attrb evenly and when I have an odd number of attrb to asign I put one in stam for my rolls in combat. you've given me a lot more to think about and I may actually try vampire. is it easy to find the priests you remove it if I dont like it?

I get fire weakness.. but I don't like that so many enemies use fire staves in dungeons and delves. specially the worm cult and some undead mages. although I do like casually running into blood fiends and massacring them with my fire staff elemental blockade and clench. spam staff down to create fire. blast each of them with clench to knock them back and deal extra dot then lay into them with my staff and keep dropping wall and clench. occasionally throw clanfear heal to keep it alive and health me if needed. obviously there's a bit of running around because they like to appear behind you but aoe is nice. be nice if sorc could have access to fire skills line and frost. personally wouldn't use frost but storm and fire. OMG the havoc one could unleash

It only has one benefit when not in werewolf form, if you have it slotted in your ability bar you will get faster stamina regen (15 percent I think, cant remember exactly)

The passive benefits that you gain from vampire outweigh the fire resistance negative. Also keep in mind bretons also have racial spell resistance so thats another race to choose if youre slightly worried about the dmg youll take. But, it isnt the end all be all. Like i said, the benefits are really good and make the extra fire dmg you take not the end of the world

Megan Carrington It hits like a nuclear bomb for both werewolves and vampires. Both have drawbacks but can be beneficial dependant on the build you make. Dawn breaker is just a chance you take going into pvp and it's a chance I take every evening joining my guild in Cyrodiil.

Idk... Seem to me that there are a lot of disadvantage as a werewolf. Werewolf have to deal with duration time, but don't really last long unless your in combat. Vampire... Well your stuck with vampire. The only downside are looks and very weak against fire.
I love to be a werewolf, but wish I could stay in transformation without worrying about time limit. I hate to rush it. Vampirism (my opinion) are OP.

!!! So now the 15% stam regen for werewolfs is only in effect when the ulti is slotted? Is that correct? In the past it was always on, even in human form and with no ww ability slotted. Is vulnerability to poison and fighters guild now always or only in WW form (in the past it was only in WW form). Can somebody pls answer this, best someone who has tested (testing in duel with a friend shouldnt be a problem nowadays). Tahnks very much.

I think vampire is still overpowered than werewolf, because you need just an armor with fire resistant and you have a vampire which can't so simpel dying.
The only problem is the blood-problem.
But I take the werewolf, because I like it and I don't have the blood problem
Vamp is good for Pve but weak for PvP imo, makes you too squishy. Overall, vamp, werewolf and mortal all have their benefits and drawbacks nowadays
