I still love Mini but I'm having a hard time with so many changes. I love my clubman, all the bibs and bobs I can fidget with, and my driver's window sun visor. They took all that away 🤔
The 4 door just doesn’t quite have the esthetics of the clubman. I would have sooner seen the clubman continue in the line up instead of the 4 door. Then the aceman would make more sense.
@@darrenmitchell5262 totally get that. Just sad that hot hatches and hot estate cars are falling out of fashion. The 3 door and clubman are the closest to the mini ethos of fun, compact and efficient enthusiast cars. I understand chasing the suv market but hope MINI doesn’t lose its soul in the process. I wish the 3 door and Clubman stayed as the heart of the line up much like the Porsche 911. They can experiment all they want with the Aceman and the like.
Preach! 😀 I have a 2013 Mini Cooper Clubman, which is my all-time favorite car but it’s starting to show age and it has nearly 150,000 miles on it. So, I’m in the market for a new car. I know it’s not rational, but four-door Minis always look “off” to me. However, when I saw this video in my recommendations I immediately watched it since I want another Mini and I might change my mind about four-doors.
Very informative video! And just subscribed. And for once, the TH-cam algorithm actually worked since your video popped up in my recommendations. 😂 I’m in the market for a new car, hopefully another Mini, so your video is very helpful. 👍
Welcome and glad you liked it. I don’t post as often as I used to on TH-cam. Largely because cars aren’t always easy to come by for videos. I’ve even been working on incorporating other brands but it seems the MINI content, thankfully, remains the most popular on the channel. I’m always getting more info on these cars so check back frequently. If I don’t post it as a regular video, it could be information in a Short, or a community post.
Maybe you should look at other brands! When it comes time for a new car I loved my Clubman. Without that option, not really enthused by anything else, at least yet with MINI. My son is now the General Sales Manager at his BMW/MINI dealership. Looks like I'll be going in that direction. I kind of like the M2.@@TheMINIac

why didn't the S trim come with more aggressive sport seats. i had a 2015 and the deal breaker in the base trim was that it had regular seats and the S had standard sport seats. i'm waiting for someone to test drive the base model vs the S trim. Is it even worth while to upgrade to the S if the driving dynamics are very similar? i feel if you don't take this car on the freeway much, the S trim's extra hp won't even make much of a difference.
The S does come with more aggressive sport seats. It comes with the JCW seats just with different upholstery and more colors. I did drive the base model. The video is up. It had sport seats as well. The base model Cooper S I drove for the first video came with the base seats which have adjustable headrests versus the sport seat fixed headrests.
@TheMINIac When I went to the mini build your mini, there isn't an option for different sport seats. I think you must have confused it with the electric power seats. I have them on my BMW. They're nice but not a deal breaker. As me how many times I adjusted since buying it. Lol. Once.
@ the fixed headrest ones are JCW sport buckets. You have to get certain trims I believe in order to get them. Classic trim will come with standard buckets with adjustable headrests.
@marilynvega4428 no manuals at the moment. 7-speed dual clutch is technically speaking an automated manual and they’re made by Getrag, same company that makes the 6-speed manual. But no, unfortunately no true manuals.
I totally 💚 your colour of your mini, what year is it? and what is your mileage on it may I ask? And what are your rims called? 85,000 miles currently and no major problems. I know a guy with 250,000 miles on his F56 and the only major maintenance was the clutch at 160,000 miles and a high pressure fuel pump at 200,000 miles.
Eww on that shifter. Color and materials i like for sure. Personally, not a fan of the 4 door cooper s unless its a countryman. Also, not a fan of the hvac being in the infotainment. We all know why. Either way, love the video.
As a lifetime mini lover, this interior just seems SOOOOOOOO cheap. MINI is going very Japanese here with the interior styling and the quality. They’ve completely SLAUGHTERED the countryman. I’m starting to stray away from MINI as they’re abandoning their true British “luxe” heritage.

They simplified things for sure. Whether they make changes to that later remains to be seen.
Beautiful ❤ I have the 2 door model since I couldn’t wait for the 4 door
Super amazing review!
Thanks so much!
Really nice!I like the clean look and better proportions as well! 🤗💙
Great videos do you happen to have one on the fuel economy in the S. thanks
Haven’t done a video on fuel economy but I’ve seen low to mid 30’s with mixed driving.
The 4 door just doesn’t quite have the esthetics of the clubman. I would have sooner seen the clubman continue in the line up instead of the 4 door. Then the aceman would make more sense.
Understandable. I was very fond of the Clubman as well. One of my all time favorite MINI models.
The Clubman wasn’t selling enough to justify continuing production.
@@darrenmitchell5262 which was unfortunate. It was a great car. People just seem put off by anything resembling a wagon, at least in the US market.

Yay Baron MINI!
Are the actual seating surfaces cloth or just the bolster trim and head rest?
Looks like a mix of cloth and vescin or just vescin (pronounced ves skin)
I love the colour and the alloys on this one, but in the UK we can’t have those alloys with Icy Sunshine Blue 😢
Really? The color dictates the wheels?? Weird
How do you remove the cargo cover?
The one that’s hinged for the hatch or the load floor(
@ the one that’s hinged for the hatch, above the load floor
You usually just pull it loose and then undo the strings. Straightforward.
@ thank you

Does anyone know possible reasons why from time to time, an F60 pops out of 2nd gear (manual trans) ?
Not sure. The F60 Countryman that came with a manual used one from Aisin so it would be different than Getrag used in the hardtops.
@@TheMINIac thanks. I think I’ll check transmission mounts first. Didn’t know it wasn’t the getrag, if you go to fcp euro, it thinks it is

These are built in Oxford England so they won’t be hit with the tariff for electric cars made in China.
Love the video but TBH I know I will be waiting until the LCI before I look at my next Mini that front bumper is not for me.
I don’t know how different the LCI will be from
The current car.
"Decent amount of leg space"?!?!? I have a Mini, albeit 2018. The back seat is a torture device for any average sized human. Otherwise great review.
The 4-door, you have to admit, has more leg space than the 2-door. Therefore, it does have a decent amount of leg space compared to the 2-door. 😁
Really fast depreciation high maintenance costs
Dunno where you got that.
Maintenance hasn’t been much different than other cars and they don’t depreciate as fast as you think.
