We just have to try to save as many souls as we can, to point them in the right direction to salvation. I want to believe that 99% of the Methodist Church goer's know that accepting and tolerating LGBT is a sin, a straight contradiction of the Lord's word. I don't want anyone to go to hell... especially not an entire denomination of Christians that are being led a stray away from God.

are thet being replaced by knowledge If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Let’s look at some basic fundamental facts based on extensive research & ongoing R&D. During fetal development a verity of biochemical agents are introduced which determine the development of the fetus. Major agents such as testosterone & estrogen & a host of others agents determine size, weight, hair color, eye color & sexuality along with a host of other traits. Variations in the amount & timing of the introduction of these agents have a major effect in our development. The fetus is a passive participant & has no influence in these matters. Sexuality, for example, & all other secondary traits are thus given to us. Well, this begs the question, is homosexuality a sin. If your religion or belief system states that it is, then there can be no argument. These are the rules based on this system’s dogma. If you accept this system, you must accept the rules. This is your only choice which is condemnation.
If, however, you are in a belief system based on logic, reason, observation & common sense, & no reliance on spirituality the conclusion is totally different. Replacing ancient religion & mythology with reason leads to another conclusion. Leaving religions that use condemnation & ridicule for control, can be the first step in becoming a true human being minus any imposed or fabricated guilt. There exist many variations of human sexual expression. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & chose knowledge based in research, you can see & understand the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD, explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research. While I am not gay, I highly recommend this book. Being gay is no more of a sin than having red hair. They are both based on genetics & clearly not a sin. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the true choice. Peace

maybe this might mend your broken heart truth knowledge If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification.
And now you continue to compromise by remaining in a denomination that ordains women as ministers of Word and sacrament, which is definitely an early indicator of the impending apostasy, but also the foolish Wesleyanism, the anti-Calvinism that is ALWAYS the sure fire path to aberration and heresy.

it is easy to find if you think for your self If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification.
Peace

I live in a rural area with very few churches. My entire family left the UMC a year ago because of what was happening. (This includes my then 85 year old mother who withdrew her membership.) The church we attended refused to even discuss disaffiliation, despite us providing the information to do so.
We have not, as yet, found a church that we feel is Biblically sound enough to attend. The surrounding villages have UMC, UCC, Episcopal, Lutheran (all gone woke) and a few Baptist churches. I pray we find a church as I feel such a huge part of my life as a Christian is lacking.

That said, I agree, the congregations should have seen the writing on the wall and acted instead of trusting their pastors. The pastors led their sheep astray and will be held accountable for that one day.

These disaffected members just should direct their feet to where the righteous meet.

You're not supposed to choose sin over Christ. Why don't people read the Bible? And then claim to be clergy, but just ignore all the bits they dislike. The same standard would go to clergy who divorce and remarry constantly. The Bible has standards for a reason, but then, those are ignored as well. 🙄

I think a lot of people trust that their pastor is not going to lead them down the road to hell, and so they don't bother reading their Bibles.

My bestie was a member of the United Methodist Church. Her congregation voted to leave the bigger unit and be free. They had to go thru all kinds of history and produce all kinds of proof, but they got out. They are a Bible-believing church now and worship the triune God.

Well said Todd. One of the things I realized when the Lord saved me was that I needed to get out of the UMC. That was over 45 years ago. It’s been bad for a long time.

When Jesus separates the sheep from the goats, the UMC and it's members will have to remove their sheep's clothing and see them as the goats they are.

My wife and I were married in a United Methodist Church here in Mississippi, but I guarantee you they would NOT go along with this. After we got married she joined a Southern Baptist church with me and we’re both very satisfied there. Marriage is meant to be one man and one woman! No exceptions. This “inclusive” mindset, in an attempt to not let anyone feel left out, has left sound, Biblical teaching like Paul said they would, to the point they ignore scripture that’s as plain as day. The whole point of the Gospel is NOT just to make everyone feel good & welcome. God calls us to repentance, to put away sin & follow Jesus. These folks ignore 😢Genesis 1, etc. Welcome to modern day Sodom & Gomorrah, folks.
