    Thanks yet again Ted for these invaluable tuitional videos. I appreciate your approach of embracing the artistry of cinematography to evoke emotion. There is simply no other content of this quality & detail out there. Your insights show us there is no need to seek exotic locations, raging waterfalls or train chasing to produce beautiful and meaning cinematic results. I am excited now and will endeavour to focus on my composition and storytelling. Incidentally, what is that white item you regularly have in your hand when you are talking at length to the camera? With thanks from Australia 🙏

    For thirty years I worked as a photojournalist. Composition is a natural part of my life. Five years ago I was injured. My 7 lb. camera now weighs a ton and it takes two weeks to recover after I shoot something. The drone -- and its remote camera, however, are an amazing tool. It's so powerful to add movement an motion as we tell our stories.
    I look forward to creating a reel that will inspire you.

There’s a guy in my hometown here who became a quadriplegic from an accident. Didn’t know what to do next in life. Discovered drones and now he’s a working photographer. These testaments to our little flying cameras is just amazing. I know I’m obsessed with mine. So Tony what type of photos/vids do you like to shoot?!?

    • @TonyBlei

I wanto to photograph my world from a new perspective to show it on a grander scale. I'm new to flying and shot a beautiful cloud over Puget Sound, in Washington, today. I wasnt intending to photograph as I was working on precise flight.

    You are a fab teacher Ted. Absolutely, we need to know the rules so ... we know eventually which ones to break :) Watching your gently reined looking-down shot, I was already plotting how to break them imagining your fluid catwalk-ing figure on the dock not stopping but stepping out the frame disappearing toward the water. My imagination went wild with options of where the story could go. Your composition lessons however do remind how rules help us bring balance in which chaos subsides. I admire your restrain, the way I admire Christina Aguilera's powerful voice projecting such softly tamed vocals. Thank you for holding my hand in my drone flying baby steps.

    Excellent! I envy your ability to not only recognize an artistic shot, but to pull it off with the ease of a professional. I still find myself primarily acting as a pilot, partially because when I started flying a decade ago, it was with drones without cameras, then those with very rudimentary ones. As much as I'd like to find and compose shots like these, it just doesn't come naturality. With the inspiration I get from your videos, I'll continue to work at the craft.

      awesome Jason. Just remember that composition is different than camera movement. Keep them separate in your head. Composition is kinda boring topic, meaning its not as exciting as camera movement like: cool tracking shots, pan/tilt shots, etc. But composition is important to slowly develop over time. It becomes an intuition pretty quickly.

      @@TedNemeth Thank you I am looking very much forward to the 19th when it is due to be delivered. Wasn’t a great fan of the new Fury Road Mad Max but the original in the second were incredible movies and then they made the silly one with Tina Turner ThunderDome wasn’t a fan of that one. Can I ask how many tattoos do you have on your back now from orphanages I think. ?

    Ted, I don't know I can use D-Cine setting any more, D-Cine mode gives me awful color, seams Desaturated color. very bad. Is something I didn't get right?

    • @TedNemeth
      @TedNemeth  ปีที่แล้ว

      hey buddy. D-cine is supposed to be desaturate. The next step is to restore all the colors. I suggest not using it. It’s NOT a true log profile so it doesn’t give nearly enough benefits in dynamic range to justify the added step of taking the time to restore all the colors & exposure back to the way it was when being recorded…..which is a guess anyway.

    Does Litchi work with Mini 3 Pro?

    • @TedNemeth
      @TedNemeth  ปีที่แล้ว

      good question. I don’t know. I tell ya….that “FOLLOW ME” mode in Litchi works great because its tracking mode doesn’t rely on the camera to follow the subject. It uses the GPS tracking to follow the controller. It’s pretty smooth. Not perfect….but in my testing it works better than the drone trying to track a subject using visual sensors.

    Thanks Ted for another excellent video with your typically clear, easy to understand explanations.
    Blasting around having fun eh? That’s me that is! Like a barking dog chasing cars down the street. 😂
    Still, the thought out planned stuff is fun too, editing it all together and seeing the end result can give a tremendous feeling of satisfaction.

    Hey Ted
    Mr. JanM from Denmark here. Really like your TH-cam stuff. Mostly because its not controlled by products and manufactores. And due to the relaxed atmosphere you create with your personality.
    With all that ass licking verbals in place 🤣🤛🏻 Which program and/or app do you use for your post production work?
    Just kidding! - I do like your material of exact those reasons.
    Hope to hear from you soon
    Kind regards
    Mr. JanM

    hey Ted, I love your videos. I uploaded a video to my channel as a promo/ mega mix. I'd love you to have a look. I'm considering upgrading to the mini 3 eventually. but when you can grab epic footage with the mini 2 there's no massive rush.

      hey my friend. I watched your promo reel. really well done. I couldn’t give you any feedback or recommendations until I learn a bit more. I have a few questions. Send me an email & I’ll reply with a few pointed questions: tedn@hotmail.com

    Here's the deal. You have choices. You could attend a four year film school and wind up discharged with a B.A. degree that nobody really cares about. The upside? You get to postpone adulthood for four more years. The downside, you'll be more than a quarter of a million dollars in the hole paying for the privilege of the debt. Option two, you could knock around for four years in an autodidactic loop hoping to hitch your wagon to some Hollywood so-and-so who will pay you peanuts to be called a "flunky". And then, there's option three. Learn from the ground up the proper way to shoot aerial video and photography from someone who knows what they're talking about. Ted has assembled all the tools you need to begin shooting without aimless guesswork. Watch his videos. See if they spark your interest. Use the techniques he lays out. Then, compare your results to work you've done in the past. Is it better? Be honest. If it is, integrate the process into every setup you undertake. And, as the saying goes, "let your conscience be your guide" and throw a few bucks Ted's way for having made a quantum improvement in your approach. I don't know Ted personally, but I can't help but think that he's an invaluable resource for ALL aspiring aereographers (did I just coin a new name?). Compare the insane cost of film school to sending ten or twenty bucks to a guy who knows what he's talking about and teaches it so well. And, if you truly cannot afford to make a donation in the form of money, at the very least let him know that you're getting something of value from his labor. OK, that's all I wanted to say. Just going to bat for a true TH-cam gem and a hell of a good teacher. Pax.
