Oh I could tell you stories about this place if I had more time.A lot of this is filmed in a place called Lake Sherwood in Westlake village/1000 Oaks California. I grew up there and it is now Million dollar homes. This is where I learned to drive and rolled my 1st Toyota 4x4.

Footnote- The Dukes of Hazzard episode, "The Runaway", unless I miss my guess, marked the beginning of Lance LeGault's long association with the program. Afterwards, he would go on to announce CBS network promos for both the prime-time and Saturday morning cartoon versions of The Dukes of Hazzard. He even returned to announce the CBS promo for 1997's Dukes Reunion movie special!!!
John owned that car then sold it to the studio. It was used for the scene. They couldn't get off of the barge so they sank it in the lake. According to John it was the only GL that had the doors welded shut
Fark they had some wicked driving skills back then YEEEEHAAAA
Dukes Greatest Show All Time.

De las mejores series de los ochenta
Love america 🇺🇲💪💕🙏💯
At 2:05, I think John Schneider said they actually sank that general lee because they couldn't get it off the barge, dang how sad.
Too much weight
Good thing Hogg and Lulu were not with them.
And it was the only 440 car used in the show
I'd give the deputy a citation for no rear view mirror, that's a no no.
Real American cars.
Remember "General Lee" is NOT an AMPHIBIOUS vehicle.
Right!
The general Lee on the barge is the one bo got from the studio that is called Bos general Lee 440
