she has no other course of action than to reconcile what she sees with her faith and it's not like christians do care about what their cannon texts say anyway. I have seen muslims advocating for lgbt followed by whatever letters they can think of and it's scary. I am not saying you can't advocate for it, you clearly can but you can't really reconcile it with Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There could be some religions this shit is acceptable but not in these three. A person cannot be religious if he directly contradicts his religion's teachings btw. That's literally impossible.

An American friend once mentioned that some of the affiliate stations not always are as hardcore conservative as their major channel tends to be. I am absolutely not very knowledgeable on how the TV system in the US works (coming from a country that as a base package delivers about 25 channels to your home it's hard to grasp how there can be smaller stations affiliated with 1 bigger one after all) especially concerning the naming convention of them (I once read that some of the letters have something to do with a station being below some of the great rivers or above, I think, not sure if that's true though).
We have a similar news channel that recently started airing that uses Fox-tactics, and they have been fined multiple times for spreading false information. There's currently a debate about taking away their transmission license due to this, and I hope they succeed.

I know it’s a idealized example of transgenderism palatable for conservatives, but as someone who is about to come out to their conservative parents as trans it at least gives me a little bit of hope that people can change.
Edit: I just went through with it. Although my parents may have some backwards beliefs they still made sure I knew that they are going to support me. It’s going to be a process going forward but that’s been true with every step of transitioning so far. That being said I’m incredibly optimistic about the future. I also really wanna think everyone who’s shown support in the comment section. I didn’t expect that the love I got from the random people in a Hasan comment section would give me that last bit of encouragement to come out. Seriously thx.

The power that a single news story from a typically conservative news station can do. There has been a huge agenda against trans people, and it's quite frankly gone absolutely absurd. It's gotten worse and worse in the last decade or so. Starting with "oh that's dumb these people think they can change gender" and people making attack helicopter jokes, to trans people now having discriminatory laws passed in places like texas and being accused of grooming children. I can only imagine it'll get more and more extreme, but if this news story from what is essentially public enemy number 1 for the trans community is helping people support trans people, then it'll help push back against the future transphobes want

That family is a lot like mine. My parents ultimately made the same decision -- "I'd rather have a living son than a dead daughter" -- and that was definitely the case for me. When I came out and my parents eventually started to support me, my mental health improved drastically and I went from attempting suicide as a "cis" teen in denial to being a happy and healthy trans adult.
My family are also religious fundamentalists, but eventually they came to understand that the idea that "God doesn't make mistakes" is still totally compatible with being trans. In their eyes, God made me trans so I could learn more about myself and they could learn more about being kind and empathetic from accepting me for who I am, growth that wouldn't/couldn't have happened if I was just a cishet girl.

Our mom went out of her way to watch anything she saw on tv discussing transgender issues because she wanted to "make sense of it". After she learned more, she fully accepted my sister. She helped my sister work out setting up her appointments to start HRT and legally change her name. Its not even just that they're showing this in a normal human way, its the fact that it's your Conservative wet dream of a family... Christian, white, blonde-haired blue eyed, with a mom and a dad and two kids. Like... its the perfect Conservative family who isn't trying to make their kid be something they're not. It's kind of beautiful.

Honestly after the relentless efforts to roll back lgbtq rights and take away resources from trans people this almost made me cry lol. If Fox News can put out something like this maybe we haven’t fully descended into clown hell.

Why does Ben use Rylands chosen name but not the right pronouns? It’s almost like it’s not that hard to change your the way you speak about a trans person. Hm.

I forget who he was talking to but he slipped and used her correct pronouns and then caught himself and intentionally misgendered her. He’s literally just an asshole lmao

9:43 Hasan's jesting here, but that's literally Ben's explicit position: he believes with no evidence a god told him that being queerphobic is good, so he ignores all possible evidence related to queer well-being.

I wonder how many cishet people end up supporting trans/queer community issues only because they find right-wing hypocrisy misusing so-called traditional values completely insufferable.
TBH I do support the queer community but on my bad days I mainly hate the self-righteous lectures of the right-wing so much that I'll support literally everyone on the other side.
Thank you to the Rylands for giving Ben Shapiro the emotional aneurysm he deserves. *Tearful slow clapping*

Just remember, there are members of the GOP who consider this kid to be abused and would prefer to rip him away from his parents and have them arrested for child endangerment. Pure. Evil.

My family is mostly conservative and they accept me being bisexual. It's really just the extreme conservative Christian Republicans who hate people like me. My uncle is a preacher and he doesn't have any hatred towards me. He treats me like I'm his nephew. Hell, my cousin is trans, but nobody is against her in the family.

I'm not educated at all on the subject but I think it must be rare to not recognize if you wanna be a boy or a girl, even if you're in elementary school.
like I used to think we as boys were really wild(maybe it was just in my subconscious), we'd arm wrestle every day, sometimes there were fights, being athletic and sports were really important and people would semi-bully each other or quarter-bully, not like real bullying but constantly playing in an annoying kind of way but since I was an animal too I'd fit in, and I'm thinking if I was trans and I was a girl in a boy's body, how the f*** could I miss that? I'd realize I don't fit in, even if you wouldn't know what it means at that age I doubt you could miss that you're just different.
