You know it's funny. Before the election I voiced my concerns with Trump to my Dad how he has *no* political, military, or law making experience and I thought he'd be a bad choice as president since he would no idea what he's doing. My Dad was quick to assure me that's not true and told me, "Don't worry Kerri, Trump will put the best people in office to guide and make sure everything gets done."
WELL LOOK AT THIS NOW! He's been in office for a month and his administration is riddled with corruption and incompetence, many of his advisors have ties to Russia, and he's such a bumbling idiot the presidency hasn't straightened him out rather made him even more unhinged. Jeez Dad what a great pick, I hope for his sake he won't regret his vote in the long run.

People over 50 are morons. Not all, but most of them are. Once you and me are over 50, its very likely that we will also be morons, that's just the way humans are.
My father and I do disagree on many political and social views (I try to avoid those conversations really I do). But there are issues we can agree on. I just hope nothing comes to bite him in the ass, he's a good man but he is one of those, "When I was a kid..." or "Your generation is full of snowflakes." So yeah try not to hate my Dad so much.

I hate how Trump's lowered standards so much that him speaking in a normal, measured tone via a teleprompter is now considered "the best speech he's ever done". For him it is. But for past (and hopefully future) Presidents this is utterly normal. In fact, if Trump is graded the way other Presidents were graded, this is a pretty mediocre speech--he proposed only feel-good generalities and the paragraphs of his speech didn't even have connecting sentences. It's bizarre. So glad that he didn't get his "reset". Trump should not get off that easily and he should not be graded on a very generous curve.

His supporters and his party seem to love all the short fixes he proposes. Most of his ideas are crazy, they don't have any hard data to back them up or make sure they will work long term. He sees a problem and decides to chop it off without even thinking about the set of consequences getting rid of that problem could bring. It's problem solving 101, before you even try to solve a problem, you need a data gathering phase to make sure the solution won't bring up 2 or 3 new, harder to deal with problems.

Most voters are too dim to recognize hypocrisy if it slapped them in the face 20 times. American people will always vote against their best interest because they don't know any better. Speaking of the SS. I have to say that I was highly unimpressed with their appearance at the inauguration. For the most part overweight and middle aged guys in trench coats. I'm sure they know how to shoot well and are proficient in hand to hand combat, but so do/am I and millions of others. So it's not like they are some kind of supersoldiers or anything. It just felt like they were in less than peak physical condition. In other words not intimidating or a deterrent. They should be the best of the best, not the best of the average.

Past presidents have often spoke how leading this nation for just a few years is without a doubt one of the most stressful jobs on the planet, but Trump is constantly making his job a million times worse each hour! How long do you think Trump can keep up this whole "being president" thing, because my family are already making bets!
My aunt thinks he'll last a year before he quits or stresses himself out, I'm pretty sure he might "make it" until the next term, and grandma's got $100 bucks on Trump lasting no more than 6 months.
I want to play this game too! I agree he'll somehow manage to drag himself to the end of this term but that's about it. This if he doesn't get impeached or dies of an attack of RAGE, that is.

That's the thing. Trump never wanted to be the president, he just wanted the title. He doesn't care about any of the responsibilities a president has on his table, he just wanted to be popular. Maybe being able to issue orders that affects millions is good for his ego but even that is not enough when every other person in the country is criticizing everything he does. He can't handle criticism and now he's drowning in it. He's used to having everyone around him fawn over everything he does because he's rich and popular, which doesn't really work when you're in the white house. His only respite are the people blindly supporting him on fox news, breitbart and his public appearances and even fox news is starting to go against him in some aspects.
He's a big man brought down to the ground in the most public and humiliating way possible. Can't imagine him wanting to keep this up for 4 years.
