Personally, I think Piccolo has a lot of hidden potential that's not coming to surface due to the protagonism of Saiyans in the story. He doesn't necessarily have to be as strong or stronger than Goku and Vegeta, just let him fight his own battles and surpass his own limits.
I always figured that Piccolo doesn’t truly revert to the ‘Nameless Namekian’ because of the previous fusion with Nail. Nail’s voice is heard a number of times after the merger and we even see Nail and Kami in Piccolo’s subconscious during the tournament of power so he’s definitely still “in there” so to speak.
Nail specifically told Picollo that his subconscious will fade once he fuses with Picollo and it did that's why his personality didn't change that much and only after he fused with Kami you see a drastic change in him , so this video is right.

Kamicolo is an interesting story. A Namekian who crashed on Earth, had amnesia, started developing a dark side yet wanting to protect the Earth, so he split into Kami and King Picollo. King Picollo dies to Goku but births Junior, later Picollo Junior and Kami complete this journey by fusing back together but this time both changed, essentially the old Kamicollo is dead, but Jr went through a change of becoming good, with Kami fusing with him making him a bit wiser. Overall very cool what Toriyama did here.
If Nail didn't become apart of Picolo then how was Nail still able to to talk to Frieza and Dende through Picolo? Even comes for a brief moment when he hears Guru is about to die.
I wish Piccolo and other Z Warriors would get buffed and more explored in the series. Hopefully, that can happen with the new movie coming out next year! Or when the DBS anime comes back, who knows...? :p

Because Kami Sama was the God or the guardian of the earth. He's the highest authority because he is the god in the Dragon Ball world during those days. But when Goku died in the Dragon Ball Z, There are more beings who are higher than God or Kami Sama. The tower became just a tip of an iceberg. Kami's tower by the way, has a room that could get you back in time before Bulma's invention of the time machine. Majin Buu splitting the good from bad, Kami-Sama did it first. That's why I prefer the OG Dragon Ball episodes. Dragon Ball Z has some great soundtrack and great potentials but sad to say, it's basically became a showdown of powers especially Goku vs Vegeta and Freeza. Piccolo Jr. and Gohan should have been the best tandem we never had, IMHO

Goku against Merged Zamasu in the DBS manga uses “Perfected” SSB, which is implying that SSB can be ascended to Grades 2, 3, and 4 the same way regular SSJ was in the Cell saga If ascending and perfecting SSB is possible, then so is SSB 2 and 3, but I doubt Toriyama is dumb enough to do that again, at that point from a narrative perspective it would just be too much But yes, theoretically Blue 2 and 3 are definitely possible
