Usually the parents understand the Christian bit but they want to protect their children from the torture that comes with inter-tribal inlaws. It's nauseating at times when all u see is ur child crying and the hubby or wife having to choose btn spouse or family

That’s true. Parents usually mean well and are coming from a good place. Your concern on in-laws however I think is a generalisation. Marrying within ur tribe doesnot guarantee that you will have a smooth relationship with your in-laws.And it is not accurate to say that intertribal in-law relationships are always bad.
