okay I cannot find the answer to my question anywhere lol. Hopefully you can help :). My question is, when you break the ice and that timer comes up to start ice fishing, do you just cast you fishing line in there like usual and click the bobber when it moves? I ask because, I have tried ice fishing in the area where I have a quest to get a net from the ice holes and every time I throw my line in there I click the bobber when it moves and all that happens is I recast my line. Is that supposed to happen? or is a window supposed to come up and show you if you caught anything like normal?
@Starscreamxx This is know bug. What you want to do is abandoned the quest or /reload and it should work where you can fish with your bobber. The 100% way to fix this without the above that works is using your interact button. Go into settings, set your interact and then when the bobber pops, use the interact key. If you try now, set your bobber out, you wont catch anything because it will recast another line. Hope this helps.
@jhonwayne1003 I feel ya, you just have to keep grinding. Its one of the worst things to achieve this expansion because the items are so random and the drop rate is so horrible. I have yet to get the achievement as im still 1 upgrade short. I have no motivation to accomplish it ahah that says a lot as im a grinder. Keep grinding.
@ryanhammond7043 That is the best way to get them. They drop pretty frequently. It was a lot easier many month ago when Lunker season was in session lol. I know you can get the wire from full fishing nets and probably the resin. Hope this helps!
@@SecondChance7043 To be honest, you really don't need a group because the "Lunkers" that drop it are the Elite bosses that spawn when you throw the Conch's in. So if you can kill those solo, you can collect what you need as you will have 2 shots a day to get them. Also, sometimes there are people looking for lunker groups in the group finder, you can check there.
@colinwoods5663 Your fishing gear gets improved. Like for the nets, it will reduce the cooldown when you drop one down at the fishing hole. Lets you get better yields and sometimes treasures. The Harpoon will let you pull in bigger lunkers by yourself. Things like that. You also get an achievement if you are into that. The reality is, its a lot of work and the RNG on it can be frustrating. It really just depends if its something you want to invest in but its not imperative.
@wizbiz1589 fishing is actually what got me into WoW. I really enjoy it. This however, I did not find this too exciting. I have yet to fully upgrade all my gear. I still need 1 more to go. The randomness of it is so time consuming. In Legion, grinding the fishing was not bad. The rewards were good and a lot of people would do them, not so much for this lol.
For the record, this is almost a complete waste of time where return on investment is concerned. Blizzard, like most MMO creators, are just enamored with RNG and making you grind it out for no other reason than to pad metrics. Reducing timers from ten hours to four on nets is nonsense since A.) the stuff you get for upgrading, while better, isn't impressively so, and B.) assumes you're logging in multiple times a day, if not no-lifing the game. And this after having to spend hours fishing, even with the best possible gear. To wit, don't even bother trying to fish up the upgrades without a Khaz'gorite Fisherfriend enchanted with perception (preferably rank 3), AT LEAST a Wildercloth fishing hat (preferably, you have Nat Pagle's Drinking Hat from the Draenor Garrison) and the perception phial made by alchemists. Even then, it's special fishing pools or bust. Some guides try to claim that base Magma Thresher Pools offer better chances than other regular specialty pools, but my experience is that's crap. In short, you'll waste the least amount of time fishing Overheated Magma Thresher Pools, and even then, with the best gear, be prepared for hours and hours of farming. I only did it because I was committed through sheer stubbornness, but Iskarr fishing is an enormous, time wasting joke.
@Mordakar This is one of the greatest rants and honest reviews that I have ever read. You are not wrong. The grind for it is horrendous and the payoff is not worth it. You really have to be dedicated to get it. I'll be honest, I have yet to get the achievement. I still need 1 thing I need to upgrade and I don't know if I have the willpower to grind it lol. You having done it, hats off, much respect. Thanks for the comment, I enjoyed the read and honesty.

Just press F ensuring interact button is clicked in your options.
Thank you, this was very helpful for me. :)

So is the only place to get the Resin and Wire is from Elite Lunker fishing?

@@_jetgaming Thanks for the reply. Yeah nobody Lunker fishes on my server unfortunately so I'm SOL, lol. Thanks for the reply, cheers!

No problem
Compared to Legion fishing stuff you could get this is quite :(
