Pulled out three sheets, cut them as you showed, added them to Kraft, black and white card bases, added sentiments. Made a box, and had a gift I gave a friend at lunch today. Perfect.
I recently started to make cards (the last couple of years), and I sent a batch to work with my husband. I sent 30, and they all got new homes, as well as a request for a few more birthday cards! There's something so satisfying to me about being able to give people something unexpected!
I have been crafting for years and always stayed away from papers like this because as you said at the beginning, I look at them and think how do I cut a beautiful page like that. You have now made me more inclined to not dismiss these kind of papers. Thank you, such a simple but amazing idea and they look beautiful
I use vellum templates with one sheet wonders I make and have a variety of cutting patterns. I put the vellum with its black limes into quarters five parts etc and chose which works best and I am always surprised how I can get multiple cards from a single sheet. Uses the same idea as you are showing just takes the process a step further to get a variety of sizes. As you say we need help to see the possibilities in a gorgeous piece of paper.
👁️👁️ VELLUM, who guessed that❓ And WHO sells 8 1/2 x 11 vellum at affordable prices❓ Is there a particular style OR type, that you recommend❓ Dianne, 81 years old, living in Arizona 🌵among 2 card making clubs 💕 ~~~
Those mini cards you made with the cameras....what a fantastic gift those would be for a photographer! Make a box and gift it to them for them to use as thank you cards. YAY!
I "accidentally" found this video on pinterest and I'm so glad I did! I love this technique and can't wait to do it!! I was gifted a craft- ton of paper (over 2000 sheets) and some of it just isn't my style. Now I know what to do with it 💖💖💖 I am now a follower May May 😁
👁️🌵. HAHAHA - You’re a follower & a believer ‼️ Full , GIFT CARD boxes for every friend … MAYBE even freebies to senior homes for patients to mail out… We do that for patients at our Veterans Hospital - they do not have to pay Postage 💜
Thanks so much for sharing this! I was super excited about this technique and had to try it last night. The cards turned out great. Love the “mystery”!!
Love it! I'm a novice crafter and cardmaker. Collected most of the tools, papers, etc. Watched hundreds of tutorials.... Got completely overwhelmed. Then happened onto this video, and Wow! Made my first set of cards that I feel totally comfortable giving to someone else. Thank you so, so much.
I met another card maker at the nursing home where I volunteer and donate my cards. She had never heard of this mystery cutting technique. I told her to watch your video and she is excited to try it.
I had watched this video before but just had to watch again! I made a gift pack of cards for a friend who loves puzzles and told her it was a puzzle box made from 12x12 paper.
I love these as a gift with a book of stamps or stamped envelopes. Thanks for helping all us folks who, let’s face it, LOVE paper. Many of us have to much and no idea what to do all of them. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I just found this video and quickly found a scrapbook page that would’ve been hard for me to create cards. I just love them! Haven’t figured out what to do with the extra pieces though.

I just want to tell you I did the cutting of the 12X12 paper. It was awesome. I did the one where you turn it over and not look. It was beautiful. Thanks for letting me know this. I'm going to do it to all of my 12x12 paper. Again thank you. 🤗
Perfect video topic, Maymay. I have SO many papers that I just love but can't think how to best use them. I must have missed the original video, glad you re-did it.
I found your video today and you have made my day! I had multiple calendars with beautiful pictures that I kept wanting to use for cards but I didn't know how. You just solved that problem and they came out fantastic. If you had to be discarded or cut smaller because of quotes or sayings being cut off but the rest are amazing. So happy I never threw those calendars away.
Just getting into card making (was a scrapbooker for years, then life got in the way for many years). A friend would give me beautiful paper packs for gifts but they weren't right for my scrapbook style (which was mostly travel related). Now I know what I can do with them! Great little trick/tip.
Ok this is a really big POOF! mind blown moment!!! I have some papers to try this with!!! This would be an amazing way to make mass cards for card drives for nursing homes, armed forces overseas, etc.!!! Thank you so much for showing this to us. Lovelovelove!
I love videos like this! You've inspired me to get out my Mintay papers and get started. I send out over 200 cards a year and sometimes hit a slump. This pulls me out of my slump! Thanks Maymay!
Awesome video! Thank you! Cards turned out beautiful. Many could use without sentiments as multi-purpose note cards like our mothers and grandmothers bought!
Love it! No stressing out about where to cut! Just have to figure out where to put the greeting! I have quite a few 12 x 12's I bought because they were so pretty and they just sort of jumped into my cart because they didn't want to be in store anymore!
I just found you... you are amazing and have helped me so much. I am a collector of paper but now I am excited to use them. ❤ I will definitely be following you and your crew.
I just happened to come across this class and was fascinated by the title. I said ok, let me try this(I was very skeptical). Oh my goodness, it works! Wondering if it works with other size papers. Thank you MayMay, you never disappoint ❤❤
I agree it took awhile for me to want to chop up these big papers but when I seen them in albums just cut up and used on a page that has a few pockets that you just continue using that same picture. It looks great when you see it like that 😀. I love listening to this lady. I love her Southern accent.
What a great technique. I would never have thought to do this. I will look at my papers in a whole different light. Thank you for such a terrific tutorial.
Thank you so much for sharing this idea with us. I made some lovely cards today with a paper I didn't know what to do with it. It was so nice to do, don't look just cut the paper. 😅😘😘
I have watched this over and over. This is so clever. I have several 12x12 paper packs that had pages I would have never used until I saw this video. Thanks!
I have countless gorgeous paper packs I was about to just cut up into 6x6 but NOW thank you, I have a brand new direction. I was thinking of full 8x4 slimlines! Oh heavens I’m a get up outta bed now @ one minute to midnight and cut!
Hello Maymay, Vinnie and Shannon from the South West coast of England, it's my first time with you all and eventhough I've been a crazy crafter for over 50 years and a predominantly paper crafter for over 30 years I was amazed by how you did this. I regularly fall into that problem of not seeing the forest for the trees....so thank you, even though you caused my palms to sweat and me to have palpitations....I'm definitely going to give this a try xxx
I teach cardmaking classes and my students always ask me how to use the giant 12x12 patterns leftover from their paper packs. I never have an answer because I struggle with them myself. One class gave me a huge gift basket of crafting supplies as a Thank You gift, and it has 3 packs of scrapbook paper that I couldn't use. Now I can use it to show them your technique and maybe you'll get some new subscribers out of it! Thank you, Maymay!
❤What A wonderful way of achieving using the paper that I dear not cut and even the one sided paper what size is the the back piece ❤love it thank you May God Bless You
Thank you!! I don't scrapbook, but purchase 12"X12" papers and have a stash of paper that I will now be able to use! Thank you SOOOOOOOO much! Really!! You truly are the best!!

I have a 12x12 sheet of black roses, I am going to try what you're doing. Its going to be interesting.
👁️👁️. Make copies from a PRINT SHOP if DSP paper is no longer available. THEN you can

I love this technique and can’t wait to try it. It is especially great for type A personality, must frame perfectly person as I try not to be. 👏😜
I've been card making for 12+ years and I've never seen anything like this "adventure!" So fun.

Genius! There is so much paper I have that I will be able to use now! Thank you!!😊
.Just a thought to ink the edge of the sentiment strip with ink color used to stamp sentiment.
👁️👁️ I would NEVER have used a stark WHITE stock for the Sentiment on that dreamy/creamy Victorian paper … Yes to soft •IVORY• tone❗️
Smart way of doing it instead of stressing out what to do AND it will open up the creativity in you. Thanks for sharing this strategy.
I am not usually a card maker but this is a great way to make inserts for scrapbooking pocket pages! One of the best videos I have seen...thank you!

Holy cow I needed this video, amazing amazing amazing! TYE……..Trick Your Eye. Love it! Thank you thank you
I’m bonkers over that paper! What an amazing technique. “Keep the faith!” Such fun! ❤️
A way to show off the backside is to frame out the front of the card base so when you open it you 'll have a beautiful inside focal.
Mystery cutting paper! It's one of the most satisfying things - so much magic happens!
I had a 12x12 paper for years trying to think how I was going to use it. Tried your suggestion and it worked beautifully!

@Tonya Rood I don’t scrapbook either. I use my paper for cards and junk journals, and then there’s the hoarding.
@@lynnelively6018 It's not really hoarding...it just means your craft room needs to be bigger, that's all...!!!

That was AWESOME. Actually it never occurred to me that's why I have a hard time cutting those beautiful papers. Thank you soooo much.
