The best I can say is that the Arctic Cat 'may' be more reliable, but a used ATV really depends on how it was treated, maintained, and cared for. Typically the Japanese brands hold up much better over the long haul.
im either gona get used polaris 500 ho or the artic cat 650 over all from your point of view which is better in the mudd speed climbing hills you been on both i only have 2200 and there round same money value for me thanks for replyin back
Radial tires are great. I switched the stock bias-ply tires on my Dad's 06 big bear with Badlands Xtr radials (same as what came stock on my '05 arctic cat400) and the Big Bear instantly became more stable and had a nicer, less bouncy ride.
is this 2004 artic cat 650 a good quad to have ? what troubles have you had with these quads found good deal on one and was hopein for sum advice i duno anyone who owns a artic cat please help thanks
Interestingly enough, the Big Bear with the radials (and the single axle rear) is actually more stable now in off camber situations than is my Arctic Cat with IRS! This wasn't the case when the Yammy was equipped with the standard Maxxis bias-plys.
@bree800 Although I was kidding....It is kinda weird that you only have 610 miles on your machine in 6 years! I know people that put that on in a week here on the Paiute Trail!
i have a ? can anyone give me sum advise im gona buy a 2004 artic cat 650 is it a good macine for trail rideing ive always rode a raptor lookin for a something my girl can ride i found the artic cat for 2,200 is it worth buyin for that much money thanks for ur time and advice
@ATVTVCOM Not that I've ever heard, my buddy's beat the hell out of their CanAms and I hardly ever open my throttle up and their machines work great, I meen comeon, 610 miles in 6 years, what a joke .....
@ATVTVCOM That's weird, I would think if you didn't ride it much all your parts would be newer and it would operate better, if you run them hard and alot i thought parts would wear out, huh, just me I guess !!!
Ok, I've changed the plugs AGAIN, ran Seafoam through it for about a mile now, readjusted the carbs, out 2 turns from seating and it still backfires through the carbs and the exhaust, will idle for about 2 minutes than stalls, won't restart for about 5 mins. HHHHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP !!!!!
I bought this exact quad new in 2004, have had ton's of problems with it, it only has 610 miles on it, as soon as I figure out whats wrong with it this time I'm fixing it and selling it to by a CanAm :o(
This was when cats were awesome this was the best one 650 brute force engine and had 13 inces of clearance
@bree800 Aren't Arctic Cats more reliable than Can Ams?

I'd opt for some other choices !
Is the arctic cat 650 v-twin better then the outlander 650 in your oponion.
Do you prefer this arctic cat atv over the 05 sportsman 700.
@zmattos00 I bet what you mean is that it's the best machine your brother has ever owned.....

@cdawg4391 Radials are an incredible cure-all for the handling of ATVs!

Anyone had problems with cams in these?
@Derek130b The CVT system isn't as efficient and I think it weights considerably more.
Arctic Cat's are a tall and heavy machine. If you are getting it for your girlfriend I'd suggest something in the 400cc - 500cc class.
do you prefer the outlander 650 or the arctic cat 650 v-twin and do you like the visco lock on the 2009 model
@tysrools That is always a possibility.

@ATVTVCOM you know we may not know this guy so he could be lying. just a suggestion
@Derek130b Slower. More weight. Less efficient drivetrain.
@zmattos00 That's great, but using an ATV once hardly results in a qualified opinion.
