Watching this reminds me of my dear father: Lt. Kenneth J. Bateman - Tinian, Burma and the Hump. Flew 25 B-29 missions over Japan during WWII. Home in glory. I miss you father.

That's a nice B29. Having seen the real only flyable B29 "Fifi" at two different airshows, this RC is pretty good. Of course the engines do not sound the same but it's not bad. Excellent RC!

Greetings from Atlanta, Georgia!! Many B-29s were built under license by Bell just north of Atlanta in Marietta, Georgia. (The Bell bomber factory.) Those folks would have been proud to see your model.
Hi again Stan!
You gave very interesting information about the manufacture of this great plane. Thank You!
The model was built by a team of modellers, I was only the Camera operator on this day, and later at a meeting in LaFerte Alais (France) where I also recorded some video.

A slightly heavy landing, but no damage was done! Was that the start of a stall? That's a fine aircraft, and it flies well. Thanks for using decent music, instead of the dubious material which all too often accompanies videos. It masked the noise of the 2-stroke engines very neatly, and Mozart befits the grace of the aeroplane. Thank-you.

Loved that takeoff and landing. And for once the video work was good. Wish we could have edited out some of the background noise and reduced the volume on the music but overall I enjoyed it immensely. I'm just thinking about how many hours of dedicated work and the expense it took to put her in the air. :)

Hi again!
I just received this info about this model:
This model belonged to three members of the WVLAC modelclub in Belgium
and was a real show stopper in the late nineties and early two
thousands.
Unfortunately, one of the three passed away and since then the model is
put on static display in the Brussels air museum. You can see a picture

Fabulous model! What scale? Seen the Byron Godberson 1/5 scale B-29 some 30+ years ago in Ida Grove, Iowa, which tragically bit the dust a year or two after it was finished. This looks even bigger!
Scale I don't know. wingspan is 350 centimeter, weight 250 kg. Thanks for watching!

What would be neat would be a parachute installed on all rc models to pop open to save your rc incase you've got to.👍
It would be cool Mark!

I have a neat idea , Put small surveillance camera in the cockpit that he can view from his cell phone then he can fly the plane like he's inside it

This model belonged to three members of the WVLAC modelclub in Belgium
and was a real show stopper in the late nineties and early two
thousands.
Unfortunately, one of the three passed away and since then the model is
put on static display in the Brussels air museum. You can see a picture
of it on the front page www.sbap.be/museum/brussels/brussels.htm
Amazing plane and flight. I find the music cool as a counterpoint. When you think it dropped the A bomb.
Being hard rock I guess this is Mozart and not Beethoven but not sure
So sorry about the Mozart! I did , as one of 140 videos on my TH-cam ScaleJetFred channel, a version without the musik because it really does not add to the documentary RC Bomber.
Thank you for watching,

Hermoso avión, debería soltar algo imitando a las bombas
Hi Daniel,Gracious for your visit to ScaleJetFred!
Greetings from Ireland, Fred
Moki's would be fantastic BUT they didn't exist when this plane was flown. Those engines and "flight props" make it sound like a very loud swarm of angry bees- or a couple of weed wackers. So- bring on the Mozart! Nothing worth listening to from the plane itself. As far as two radios are concerned - I love the idea. Just like a real old bird - pilot and co-pilot working together. Each with their own responsibilities to get the old girl in the air and back on the ground! Beautiful model and a great flight. Thanks for the video.
Hi Norman, you are the exception as all complaints are about Mozart!
The Motors are twin cylinder eastern Europe made. in my second video you get a quick glance of one of the engines during assembly in LaFerte Alais!

Sorry, can't watch this, the music just takes too much away from the engine sounds. And it's a shame, from the little bit of what you can make out, it almost sounds like a full size aircraft. The reason for my thumbs down.
Pleas return to my channel. Following your observation I uploaded this video a second time witout musik and video from an othe location in France of the same supe B 29.
Pleas spread the word...

Beautiful B29...beautiful music... but the only way I would combine the two is if I was crewing on a real B29 and had the music in my headphones....preferably Mozart. 😎🎸
I agree and as I can't take Mozart ot, I posted a new video using most of the original video files - not easy after 20 years!
It was only posted \End of Marche. Please com back to see it SoulStatix!

wonder what frequency it's on transmitters look old school 35mhz with antennas like that not 2.4ghz....suspect it was quite some time ago looking at the camcorder being used :)
Hi Tom Ross, the frequency was 35 MHz, the Camcorder was a DV Professional and a small Camcoreder DV of same make.

A lot of people flunking the "name the music" contest. "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - by Mozart didn't capture the mood. Maybe "The Dambusters March" or "The 633 Squadron Theme" would have been more appropriate.

G'day,
Wow, someone still using long telescopic "Fishing-Pole" type Aerials on their Transmitters (!)..., or was this a bit of Archival VHS brought up from the Video Vault ?
That B-29 appears to go all soggy & mushy every time it's asked to climb..., looking perilously close to a Stall ; perhaps it needs the next size up in Chainsaw-Motors (or whatever it has installed )...
Have a good one,
;-p
Ciao !
At that date 2.4 Giga was not yet normal control frequency...

Oh my! This does blur the lines between Remote Controlled Models and real airplanes. There are smaller planes a pilot can fly, from INSIDE the airplane. Then it dawned on me that there are drone F-4 Phantoms and F-16 Falcons. When I was young it was easy, small = remote, big = real airplane. Not anymore.
Yes Allen, bur we have touthands "Normal" RC pilots operating or learning to fly "Normal" reasonably sized, up to 6 ft span models!
