@@whitelily3740 UP is comparable to an average private High School 60,000 pesos. If you compare that to other other schools, it's more affordable. And if you're good enough, an average citizen can pass, and there's lots of UP students who are from the countryside because of their talents and abilities.

Hindi po pang-mayaman ang UP, it's just a state university in the Philippines na may matataas na IQ na estudyante lang ang pwede makapasok or makapasa sa UPCAT. that's a scret kung paano makapasok sa UP, dapat you have the brain.

Gone are the days when UP ID is in wallet. We don't use lanyard during our time kasi nasa wallet nakalagay ID namin. Nilalabas lang namin if needed.

Feeling ko tuloy ang daming RK sa UP
marami po talaga dahil factor sa pagpasa mo sa UPCAT yung quality of education nung magaaral. Madalas, ang nakakatanggap lang ng quality education ay ang mga mayayaman. (mga afford din magbayad ng mga review centers) pero marami din naman po ang hindi mayaman dito, dahil ang student population ng undergrad students sa UPD ay nasa ~14000.
EDIT: ang ginamit po nna word sa comment sa taas ay word na "dami", kaya sinabi ko po na opo marami pong mayayaman sa UP. (hindi ko sinasabing most)
@Flewt Puns utakan po talaga ang laban. Bago ka makapasa sa UPCAT dapat may utak ka. Pero ayun nga po, maraming matatalino sa pilipinas pero hindi lahat may kakayanan na magaral sa high school na may kaledad na pagtuturo. Kaya masasabi rin po natin na maraming magaaral sa UP ang may pribilehiyo. Pero totoo po, utak ang labanan. Mas may advantage lang talaga yung mga may afford.
@Movies ForALL pwede ka pa rin namang umasa sa swerte mo hahahaha pero hindi lang naman UP ang natatanging college na pwedeng pasukan. Marami namang state colleges na libre din ang tuition fee.

@@floydlloydlopez1587 kasi minumulat sila ng UP sa reyalidad ng lipunan kung saan talamak ang opresyon, katiwalian, at pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan ng nasa itaas. Doon, hinuhubog sila upang baguhin o itama lahat ng iyon at magsilbing boses para sa mga naaaping pilit binubusalan ang bibig. Wala namang mali sa pag-rrally. May mali kaya nag-rrally.

I would like to take a tour of this University. I'm from the United States. I earned my bachelor's degree in International Management and Finance from catholic university here in the states and I'm currently working on my Masters in Cyber Security. Can a person take a tour, even if i have no plans on attending?

I study in the Philippines, private school but Catholic.
Here are our rules:
·Always wear correct uniform
·No makeup
·No ID no entry.
·If you arrive at 6:30 or beyond, you are considered tardy.
·If you miss the flag ceremony, tardy.
·No gadgets
·No accessories (except for black hair tie)
·Always have your hair in a ponytail and NO OTHER hairstyles, and no hair down.
·Boys must have a haircut.
·No eating of gum in class (I think all schools have this rule IDK)
·None of the students are allowed to celebrate their birthday in school.
·No one even highschool is allowed to go out of the gate without a parent or a guardian
·No elementary is allowed in the highschool building and highschool are not allowed in the elementary building.
·No swearing/cursing
·No student is allowed to go near the teachers desk
·Always pay attention to class assemblies or else.
·If you lose your ID, suspended for 3 weeks.
·If you break any rule even the stupidest rule, Your ID will be confiscated and since their is a rule called No ID, no entry so it means you are expelled.
And other rules I forgot cause quarantine is so long

complete opposite of my UP college life, where I dont have a car to commute, no budget for snacks and breakfast, gym, etc, ,,always battling hunger during afternoon and just went to nearby malls to avail of some food tasting promo for snacks hahahaha,,,went to UP with shirt pants and slippers plus a pen and a notebook, no budget to buy books, no laptop bec I cant afford, its purely library where I go, but anyways, I would say you are so lucky 😃

Wow your cute. I have heard its easier for foreigners to get in, is this true? Not that many americans are looking to study in the philippines. The masters in community development interests me because I believe when it comes to making an impact on extreme poverty, it is foremost a community problem. Most degrees in my country focus on non profit management, but this is a business minded way of looking at it, and says nothing about how you make a positive impact at a local level. I am assuming it is also because america doesn't deal with extreme poverty. In any case I am looking for education that will allow me to serve others with greater impact. I believe rural and community development are essential in that journey. UP diliman looks to have a good program.
