Definitely have something to eat on Pier 39 in San Francisco - can personally recommend the clam chowder! Also it's definitely worth taking one of the city tour buses as the drivers are really enthusiastic and make each trip their own. Plus it's a cheap way to see all of the big sights like the Golden Gate bridge, movie locations etc. Excited for the vlogs!
If you've got a bit of time in Las Vegas, go hiking out in the Valley of Fire State Park. The heat is wonderful if you've got enough water and there are beautiful red rock formations to climb everywhere.
As far as things to do in California, if you are going up north toward San Francisco, definitely go check out redwood forests. Its fucking Endor, man. There are a bunch of them so you should be able to find one that isn't too far out of the way. There's plenty of stuff to do in LA obviously, I haven't been there too much though.
That trip sounds amazing. I'm excited to see the footage. When Sjin, Lewis and Turps went to San Fran they followed a trip advisors list on things to do and see there. Maybe that will help you.
Hat films should do a wine or cheese survey while they are in LA/E3 since that's where everyone tends to do surveys and are most likely to get people to respond. Plus it would be Facking hilarious.
Go to Berkeley (across from San Francisco in the East Bay)! There's lots of different kinds of awesome foods (especially downtown), and the Marina is beautiful. You can also go to Tilden Park if you want some grass or some 'grass.'
It is a bit out of the way, but I travelled from L.A to San Francisco a few years ago, and Yosemite National park was probably the highlight. Then the obvious stuff like hiring bikes on Venice beach and Santa Barbera is fun for a day. Also make sure you go sea the seals in San Fran xoxoxo love you
There's the possibility of going to 'Los Santos' locations, while in LA. If you wanted to do a Stunt Lads spot. You should probably also bother Jesse Cox / Dodger ( I think Sam will be back in the UK by then?)
For food, Sen Dai sushi in Milpitas is the best we've found in the San Fransisco Bay Area. Excellent fish and really good price, too. If you're driving, a bit longer drive will take you from San Fransisco, through Yosemite National Park, and across the north side of Death Valley on the way to Las Vegas. It adds about 2 hours driving time but you see some incredible areas.
The election is even a hot topic in Hat Films vids! Good shout out for PR, I may not see eye to eye with UKIP but 4 million do and its important they have their view heard! Loving the vids as always guys! Especially looking forward to live vlogs from road trip across America - the Germany vlogs were hilarious!
Also you should check out a really great bar called the Freaking Frog that is in Las Vegas. It has a world wide range of beers, ales, and other wonderful alcoholic beverages! Have a fun time on your trip.
In a city called Rancho Cucumonga there is a restaurant called Slaters 50/50 and you can get all different types of burgers. Such as ostrich or kangaroo or buffalo
The guy telling you only pick tracks you like is crazy, I do however dislike the way you guys always choose tracks that go from left to right, so predictable, so boring.
Everything in America is realllllly far apart, compared to Europe. I hope you gents are flying between cities. But if you're not, be warned! Los Angeles to Las Vegas = 4 hour drive (one way) Los Angeles to San Fransisco = 6 hour drive (one way) Plan to spend a good half to full day driving if you aren't flying. Also if you're driving from LA to LV, make sure you're full up on gas. It's all desert and getting stranded in the Mojave Desert is a bitch. I speak from experience!
Alloyaha To add on to this,if you are driving from LA to Vegas, don't convince yourself that leaving early friday morning is going to help you avoid traffic. Rush hour in LA is a fucking nightmare and even the highways between are often crowded. Everyone goes to Vegas on friday and everyone thinks that an early trip will be faster. If you want a quick trip, then leave about mid-morning thursday so you'll get there just before the Vegas rush hour and in to your hotel when it's check-in time before all the drunken twats come in off the road and shit up the lobbies.
Oooh! A whole 4 hours? I'm in Australia! It takes that long to leave some drive ways!! Seriously though... The nearest town from where I am is almost 6 hours drive!
Witchdacta Cindertusk It's not that expensive, usually around $50 per seat, especially on commuter flights. If you're flying from the UK to LA then that's a hell of a lot more expensive. Besides, most Europeans don't realize how big the US is, and how far apart major cities are. I knew two Danish girls back in College that were staying in the states for a week. They planned to see the Mall of America, Seattle, LA, and NY by road trip, in three days. Its at least a 5 day trip, if you don't mind driving through the night.
If you guys are near WeHo at any point while you're in California, check out a place called Hamburger Mary's they have an amazing drag show you should check out.
You should go to Magnolias in SF on Heist st. Best gastropub in the whole area. also in LA, Go down the Santa Monica Pier and go rock out on the Arcade!
Hat Films! Once you get to San Francisco you should take a quick Bart (or metro if you want to call it that) over to downtown Berkeley and take a walk around!
Alcatraz is always good fun, though you've already done that. Other than that, maybe pier 39 would be a good place to go in San Francisco. Golden Gate park is also really nice. I went on a segway tour there and it was tons of fun.
TheAuthor Also, pack jackets for San Francisco mates, foreigners always expect it to be hot and sunny there but its actually almost always cold and chilly there.
I ordered a wine and cheese and a hand of truth tee-shirt a few days ago. ( while I was drunk). Just checked the order progress and noticed that I ordered the wrong size. I am a complete plonk.
You guys should go to Monterey Bay, its really cool and just south of San Francisco, a good stop in-between LA and SF. It also has on of the best aquariums in the world.
Just because a party i personally disagree with would become more powerful through proportional representation is not an arguement against proportional representation. If anything it is an arguement for it because they would be more represented, something I would want in their position
ben dover Smith said "there's a reason we've got FPTP", yeah, because it keeps the two major parties in power. There's very few pros to the FPTP system compared to say, STV.
***** fptp and PR would have made no difference to who is in power currently. youd end up having conservatives and ukip in charge. an no left sider wants that.
Arkiham But thats not a reason to say no to the system, if they make up a large part of our country then i'm sorry, but in a truly democratic country they should be represented, you either want democracy and take parties you disagree with people in power or you support a dictatorship with the party you support being in power, there is no middle ground.
with pr, how do you choose who represents your local area then ? as currently the mp's who are in parliament are the winners of each constituency. how can you put a person in parliament if no constituency voted for them more than someone else?
Arkiham Thats actually a very good question. Is representation for a certain area really needed in the national government though? Surely you could just have a certain number of seats in the government split between the parties that would vote on major law (lets say.. 100 people) and then you could have smaller councils of lets say 10 for each county that would deal with local law. If representation is felt to be needed from a certain area they may send a representative from the local council to make a case to the national council. I'm sure there are many flaws in that, but thats just what i've got off the top of my head
It probably won't be that hot in California unless you come during a heat wave. Weather usually rests around 70F. Also if you're "adventurous", try Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. It's more of a tourist place with mixed reviews...
If you want to do a prank you should get Trott to dress up as John McClane in Die Hard With a Vengeance in the scene just before he meets Samuel L. Jackson.
The LA thing is so exciting! :3 I'd say definitely visit Yosemite if you can, such a stunning place, it was my favourite part of my trip. Also Alcatraz! But do the night time tour, it's much better. :)
There's a great 50's style diner in San Francisco opposite the US Marines Club;food is great and it isn't horrendously expensive. Also the tram/train service that runs along the piers is worth a look at, very vintage style. Alcatraz is great, if a long day. As for Vegas, best time to do stuff is late at night- everything is lit up, and it's still very warm. There's lots of bars along the strip, and a rollercoaster built into the side of one of the hotels. Just remember the showgirls on the streets want tips for pictures....
All i can add to these lovely trip suggestions is to visit Australia (QLD) on the way home. I'm sure there are many that would love this. I know, I know, we are too fucking far from anywhere to make it worth the trip......but our wildlife is so wanting to meet you guys, the creatures and critters are too.....lmao!
Things to do In Southern California from a Californian: Fun Tourist things: 1.) visit theme parks ex.) Disney, California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm, Magic Mountain 2.) Go to the beach (don't get in the water, there is tons of crap washing onto the beach right now) have a bonfire ex.) Huntington, Venice, Santa Monica (the pier is thone modeled in GTA they have great ice cream) 3.) Eat food ex.) Rosco's Chicken and Waffles in Hollywood, Pink's Hot Dogs in La, and of course In & Out anywhere in Cali, and there's one in Vegas Chill things: 1.) Visit the museums and observatory in LA ex.) LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, Peterson Automotive Museum, Griffith Observatory 2.) Go for a hike ex.) Hollywood Hills (careful, they hate tourists), Etiwanda Falls, Escondido Canyon etc. 3.) Go Shopping ex.) Beverly Hills, Victoria Garden's, Redlands Mall etc. Sorry this was so long. Hope it helps when you guys come to visit. Pack light clothes and buy sunscreen because when you come it should be around 30-40 degrees celsius, and the air quality will probably be pretty bad. And everything will be crowded because all of the students will be on summer break.
if you guys go to san francisco, you should check out alcatraz if you havent already been there, the audio tour is great and the great burger place there is the super duper burger
I visited California recently and I would recommend: seeing redwoods, going to Venice beach, going to San Fransisco zoo. Here's a few good food places: PF Changs and Bubba Gump Shrimp ( for the forest Gump fans, but they do have good food)
at the end of the day even though I hate UKIP I still want proportional representation because that's democracy. The current system is bullshit just by looking at votes to seats ratios for different parties. It's not about who it helps win, it's about representing the people. And I admit a lot of people are idiots but that shouldn't mean their vote counter for any different amount. It would also mean voting actually means something for everyone who votes because unlike now there would be no "well the conservatives always win by at least 5000 votes here so why bother voting?" Mentality since every vote would have the potential for one more member of parliament. Anyway it's labour and conservatives keeping it not proportional because if it was proportional they'd get like half as many seats.
Yeah but the people who voted in their constituencies got the person that had the highest percentage of votes in their area. If people in Orkney vote for Conservative, Labour or SNP then they should get who they voted for not someone from a different party which got more votes.
Joel Mahon It also makes it far too based on geography, SNP would have far less seats which would be a good thing as having a party representing the UK who's only interest is for one small country (relatively in terms of population) is completely wrong.
Joel Mahon Places like Northern Ireland would only get like 1-2 seats though and although that represents the amount of people that actually live there they are their own country (or whatever) and have their own identity and should definitely get more of a say than just a normal sized city in England
Joel Mahon Just an FYI, under Proportional Representation the Conservatives would still have the most seats in parliament after the election last week, and with UKIP's 81 seats would easily form a majority coalition which would be more right wing than a pure Conservative government. Meanwhile the SNP would be down to 30 seats, Greens 20 odd along with the Lib Dems, NI and Wales parties even less. You do understand that UKIP are the most right wing party in the UK and the closest thing we have to the US Republican party, which is further right wing still. Absolutely nothing would change, apart from local government would be totally unworkable and would either not exist at all or as Cameron said, a load of constituencies would end up with an MP in place they didn't vote for.
>It's gonna be hot In Vegas or LA maybe, but not in SF. Bring a sweater or a light jacket with you when you visit the city--it can get pretty nippy, especially if the fog decides to stick around.
Evil_ 92 And when smaller areas end up disproportionately affecting the results compared to the votes of larger areas, it affects the needs of everybody.
When you come to San Francisco come down to San Jose and get a burger and milk shake from Fosters Freeze. They have so many choices of Milk Shakes, like Raspberry, blue berry, I think even banana. It's also a REALLY great burger, I suggest a double or even a triple. Fun fact you know the movie the Postman, and he's in that town and they have that dance, and that lady is like I want your baby. The dance scene took place at a Fosters Freeze!
Ideas for while you are in California and Vegas: 1.Take Trott to Alcatraz and throw him in a cell and then make his walrus ass swim back to shore. 2. More gun shooting in Vegas, because the last time you guys were out there it was so funny to watch. 3. Find something totally worthless and take it out to the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop and try to sell it to see if you end up on an episode of Pawn Stars. Lulz.
Places to eat and pig out while in San Francsico: check out Taqueria Cancún in the Mission District for some quality Mexican; for amazing hot dogs, take a look at Underdog located in Inner Sunset; Saigon Sandwich in the Tenderloin for kickass Vietnamese sandwiches; there's also Super Duper if you want something simple like a burger, in the Financial District. Food trucks are pretty common, some are good, most aren't. Maybe avoid the Tenderloin at night, especially with those accents; bit rapey of an area. Also, bring a light sweater since it gets chilly here. Hope you guys do a meetup.
You guys have to get a boat trip under Golden Gate Bridge, It is amazing. How I enjoyed it much more on a private boat that my friends own because then u can get a better view and get to see it longer. So, if u can then hire a boat.
Where I live in Canada, each seat in parliament is representative of roughly the same amount of people. Considering so much in Canadian government is derived from Britain, I am shocked to discover that you don't implement the same system there. For shame Britain, for shame. The student has surpassed the master.
Holy shit!!! I'm so excited that you guys are coming to the US! If you really are coming the vegas (I live in vegas) it's really hot and dry heat. So if you have allergies be prepared to feel them. For non expensive fun you can go to Fremont street where there is some street performers and container park where there's a giant metal praying mantis that shoots fire. And there are some show you can go to if you have the money. At Excalibur casino they have a dinner and a show deal where they give you a whole chicken to eat with only your hand. It's a knightly show with sword fighting and that shiz it's pretty cheesy but I like it. Of course you can just walk down the strip. Oh and at Fremont street there is a big zip line you can go down. I would love to come and meet you guys here in vegas. Anyways you probably won't see this but yeah that's my two cents worth.
When you go there, Americans won't understand your humour. Take selfies at regular intervals so as not to scare the locals and say 'oh my god' profusely at the beginning of every sentence. Don't mistake Canadians for Americans, you may start a war. If you see any Russians just smile and try not to prejudge them based on their country's current actions. Other than that, have a nice time.
Was Ross thinking of playmobil? I thought of that plastic when I saw it, it's kind of like playdohey/clay like at times, shiny (used for housing, crappy school chairs). Hearing them talk about news has made me want another Hatchat.
- Go to Disneyland - Go on an intergalactic trip to Endor (AKA Redwoods) - Ask Californians "Wine or Cheese" or various questions in German. - Show people the Truth of the Golden Hand - Go all in the casinos - Be yourself
I don't think you will be able to find a big bag of coke. Here in America coke only comes in cans and bottles.
Now, if you want some Heroin we got plenty of that...
giggletycoon Is frightening in the dark.
Error404 - Channel Not Found might be fun for a lark.
Darchus08 look out, in the water there might be a shark.
Joe PittyFool We have milk bags in Wisconsin too.
In a Hotel at Vegas, book a crap room but slip the guy at the desk 40$. Trust me. It's beautiful.
AtHD why?
GEM4sta he comes and blows you later? not sure.
GEM4sta Because he works at the desk of a hotel in Vegas ;p
He'll book you a nice fucking room for cheap. Didn't think I'd have to explain.
Pauli Jokela Sarah's reply made it clear they are ordinary business jackoffs lol
If you've got a bit of time in Las Vegas, go hiking out in the Valley of Fire State Park. The heat is wonderful if you've got enough water and there are beautiful red rock formations to climb everywhere.
I love Trials so much
Zonaloxx I love Trials and your Profile pic! :D
IndieMarkus Thanks, your profile pic is awesome too! :D Did you make it?
I'M GOING TO BARGE INTO THIS CONVERSATION BY SAYING I LIKE TRIALS
MertsyUniverse I ALSO FELT THE NEED TO INTERRUPT THIS PLEASANT CONVERSATION AND SAY, I RATHER ENJOY THIS GAME ABOUT MOTOR CYCLES!
TheOdd101 GREETINGS FELLOW INTERRUPTER! MANY THANKS TO THE GLORIOUS FELLOWS AT HAT FILMS FOR PROVIDING US WITH AN EXCUSE TO TYPE IN CAPS
I just imagined Dodger and Hat Films for Friend Zone and exploded all over the place

If anything, come up to Santa Cruz, which is along the way to San Francisco, and visit the boardwalk, the mystery spot, and the redwoods!
Samuel L. Jackson's Fish Ive always wanted to go to to a Dodgers or Giants game if I ever go to Cali. They should probably try that
Samuel L. Jackson's Fish are you talking about the coastal redwoods cuz those are just big trees. the sequoias are the stupid big redwoods.
That trip sounds amazing. I'm excited to see the footage. When Sjin, Lewis and Turps went to San Fran they followed a trip advisors list on things to do and see there. Maybe that will help you.
In Las Vegas go to the stratosphere, as there are some really cool rides on top of it, that hang of the building!
Hat films should do a wine or cheese survey while they are in LA/E3 since that's where everyone tends to do surveys and are most likely to get people to respond. Plus it would be Facking hilarious.

Im told Vegas has firearm ranges where you can shoot fully auto machine guns. I feel smith would get a rager for that.
'Leaving Las Vegas', Smith. The film where Nick Cage leaves Las Vegas...
It is a bit out of the way, but I travelled from L.A to San Francisco a few years ago, and Yosemite National park was probably the highlight. Then the obvious stuff like hiring bikes on Venice beach and Santa Barbera is fun for a day. Also make sure you go sea the seals in San Fran xoxoxo love you

eating anywhere on Fisherman's Warf in SF, there is also an Irish pub called Durty Nelly's that I would recommend
If you guys don't go on Jetskis in LA, I'll be disappointed.
giggletycoon there are plenty of jetskis in England, I've ridden them in Devon
Jetskiers are the bane of everybody elses life (who is on the water).
True! My step-dad is a surfer and is forever complaining about Jetskiiers
In a city called Rancho Cucumonga there is a restaurant called Slaters 50/50 and you can get all different types of burgers. Such as ostrich or kangaroo or buffalo
You could stop by Solvang, a quaint little Danish-inspired town between LA and SF.
The guy telling you only pick tracks you like is crazy, I do however dislike the way you guys always choose tracks that go from left to right, so predictable, so boring.
And why do they always have to ride bikes or quads? ADD SOME VARIATION TWATS.

Yep you guys wrote the definition for long distance. Perhaps the only ones that can one-up you, are Russians on the Trans-Siberian highway.
Lisa99913 6hr drives are the bread and butter of visiting relatives around Australia

I'm heading over to LA in June too. Heard great things about in'n'out
If you're going from L.A. to San Francisco, stop at Pismo Beach, and then at San Luis Obispo. SLO's a college town, pretty nice there.
The KA show at MGM Grand in vegas is worth a watch I enjoyed it, was like avatar before avatar.

Come visit Santa Rosa, absolutely beautiful and only about an hour from San Francisco. Plus it's wine county so just go wine tasting
What to do in LA? Stunt lads.
In Vegas, go to the Harley Davidson restaurant on The Strip. They sell 3 foot tall Margaritas.
I'm doing pretty much the same road trip but with my school in November, but our trip will probably involve less drinking
Hat Films! Once you get to San Francisco you should take a quick Bart (or metro if you want to call it that) over to downtown Berkeley and take a walk around!
I think you should go to the Grand Canyon, but that's a pretty long ways away. Definitely have to drive on the Golden Gate Bridge in SF.
There is a few places in Las Vegas where you can rent full auto and vintage firearms. Maybe rent some quads and go play in the desert somewhere.
Disneyland, of course. The Griffith Park Observatory is beauitful. Also please try to do a meet up if you can! It'd be really cool to meet you guys :)

That "LOL!" at 14:17 :D
My uncle, Tim Archuleta, is a Sushi chief in San Francisco. The restaurant is Ni Bar. It is very good and he comps a lot of meals.
If you're going to San Francisco, cycling to Sausalito is pretty cool, you go across the golden gate
You guys should go to Monterey Bay, its really cool and just south of San Francisco, a good stop in-between LA and SF. It also has on of the best aquariums in the world.

That last track was super badass. Reminded me of Mass Effect 2!
Definitely eat at in and out. It's a great fast food place. Check out the secret menu online too!
i can only recommend the BigShot in Las Vegas and the "Ripley's Believe it or Not" Museum in San Francisco ^^

Go to Griffith park in LA - you can see the entire city :D
artemisbot Yes!^
you guys should totally go out of your way and come to San Diego, and while you are in LA, Six flags magic mountain is pretty damn fun

Pack light clothes and buy sunscreen because when you come it should be around 30-40 degrees celsius, and the air quality will probably be pretty bad. And everything will be crowded because all of the students will be on summer break.
Go to ghirardelli square and the Golden Gate Bridge and Chinatown (that's where you'll find cheap fireworks and throwing knives)
if you guys go to san francisco, you should check out alcatraz if you havent already been there, the audio tour is great and the great burger place there is the super duper burger
That was a fun episode to watch.
I visited California recently and I would recommend: seeing redwoods, going to Venice beach, going to San Fransisco zoo. Here's a few good food places: PF Changs and Bubba Gump Shrimp ( for the forest Gump fans, but they do have good food)
Trott, those blocks remind you of the little brown plastic wedges you found in school to balance tables.
When you guys go to LA, BRING WATER BOTTLES
The toy that the brown blocks reminded you of was lego rope bridges!
at the end of the day even though I hate UKIP I still want proportional representation because that's democracy.
And when I say got more votes I mean as a party overall not in individual constituencies
>It's gonna be hot
In Vegas or LA maybe, but not in SF. Bring a sweater or a light jacket with you when you visit the city--it can get pretty nippy, especially if the fog decides to stick around.
Go to fisherman's warf in SF and try out the restaurant Boudin! You'll have some of the best clam chowder and sourdough bread ever!
FPTP voting is in fact extremely dumb, and I say that as somebody who voted neither UKIP nor Green in the election.
alphaprawns Thats not a fact, thats an opinion.
It's not though as different area have different needs from one another
Evil_ 92
And when smaller areas end up disproportionately affecting the results compared to the votes of larger areas, it affects the needs of everybody.
alphaprawns Yeah let's just have city people rule the entire country like the arrogant jerk offs they are!
Jet Jenkins I'm from a very rural area and even I can see the system is a bad daft.
When you go to Vegas, you should go to a show called coco bongo, you will probably get drunk, but it was great when I went!
Go to the Heart Attack Grill in Phoenix, Arizona and order a Quadruple Bypass Burger. New eating challenge for Smiffy?
more trials bud trot defo should do comps love watchn him play and hear all the bantar from the 3
You should also do a quick Bay Area fan meet up for your resident hatters!
In San Fran, go down to fisherman's wharf and get some clam mofochowder
Alcatraz in SF is awesome, speaking from experience. You should book in advance though.
Living in Vegas end of June early July is the hottest time of the year so prepare to burn really really bad. Just bathe in sunscreen 100fps
'Its tropical conditions it's 30 degrees' anything above 20 is tropical for us British folks
Smith, you're thinking of the movie "Leaving Las Vegas".
I know Sorted just went to LA and did their must-see list based on suggestions. Their last few videos may be a good curated list.
Ideas for while you are in California and Vegas:
1.Take Trott to Alcatraz and throw him in a cell and then make his walrus ass swim back to shore.
I'm here studying for finals and when I take a break I hear you guys are going to LA, San Fransisco and Vegas? Well you can all GFY!!!
Get Trott drunk and just let him loose in Las vagus and just film what happens XD lol x love you guys xxxxx
Vegas*
Where I live in Canada, each seat in parliament is representative of roughly the same amount of people. Considering so much in Canadian government is derived from Britain, I am shocked to discover that you don't implement the same system there. For shame Britain, for shame. The student has surpassed the master.
1. Drive to Vegas, death valley, Yosemite, SF, then back to LA down route 1
2. Test the AC in the rental car before you drive off
Holy shit!!!
LA has Universal Studios Hollywood.
Anaheim has Disneyland, but it's the opposite direction from San Francisco
Btw you can hike to the Hollywood sign without actually breaking the law. It's a nice climb.
Was Ross thinking of playmobil? I thought of that plastic when I saw it, it's kind of like playdohey/clay like at times, shiny (used for housing, crappy school chairs). Hearing them talk about news has made me want another Hatchat.
- Go to Disneyland
- Go on an intergalactic trip to Endor (AKA Redwoods)
- Ask Californians "Wine or Cheese" or various questions in German.
- Show people the Truth of the Golden Hand
- Go all in the casinos
- Be yourself
Here in the great country of Straya 30 degree days a probs perf.
no but really tho, go to silicon valley. it´s an hour outside of san francisco
Marty's home of the combo (hot dog with chili and cheese in a burger)
Best burger stand in LA. Period.
You guys HAVE to visit In-N-Out while you're in Los Angeles! It's a pretty popular burger place and they're damn good.
