A talented group of young musicians who are seeking to revive the musical folklore heritage of the
Arab world, in general, and Syria, in particular.
A common interest in traditional folk songs is what brought the members of Takkat Band together
wherein they re-present old traditional songs in their own unique musical way; that is what they
call: “from another perspective”. They do so with all the due love, respect and appreciation to the
original owners of those songs.
Members of Takkat Band say: “Our mission is to gain the love and respect of people to our new
project. Through this love of millions around us, our mission now has become to revive the Syrian
folk song in particular and the Arabic one in the near future as we bring those songs alive to the
current generation wherein many of this generation do not know about it”.
