The hospital I’m going to gave me a list to follow (I’m in Kingston). I believe the clinic book is something that the public hospitals all across the island issue.

Oh the baby tshirts yep we all had to buy that type here as well in Fiji islands when in the hospital. Everything white and colors pink cream for girls and blue green darker colors for boys
All take bags suitcases to hospital maternity ward even thermos mink blankets pillows cups plates spoons knifes forks for eating
Here we take our own stuffs when in hospital only thing hospital provide is the bed and medicines and medics
Even some take their owm mattresses

If is very sad that you guys have to bring your whole house with you.i would like to know what happened to the money that the government should be providing to these hospitals so that mother does have to go out of their way to find these things. Hi swaggy. A clinic book is issued at the health centre when you go for antenatal checks. But since you went privatley, the records your doctor gave you will work just the same. No need to worry about a clinic book. Just take the records your Doctor gave you.

If you're going to a private hospital you don't need a fan.Ask Erro to take your mea if lt's St.Ann Bay Hospital you will be giving birth.My daughter had baby there two years ago.Treatment was good,food left much to be desired.Errol soon have a new baller on his team. We're not very far away.Just up the road.Remember to rinse everything.

Colostrum is what comes out first immediately after giving birth. It has TONS of nutrients for the baby. It is high in antioxidants & antibodies to build the babies immune system and protect them from sickness.
Hi Swaggy, you are well prepared. The only thing I would suggest some labelling of the items. You can write " Baby Stevens" on the baby items.
I went private 2 times, and I got the maternal record book / clinic book.. I think u should enquire about it... safe delivery

We put dettol in our bath water. It's good for disinfectant small cuts and bruises.

Hey hun, you only get clinic book when you do your check ups and a clinic or public hospital, private doctors don’t use a clinic book, my private doctor didn’t give me anything either had to do research on look on TH-cam to see what other Jamaican moms brought with them

Buy some chemise Swaggy They come in long sleeves, sleeves, and without sleeves. It's the best thing to use, especially when the time is hot. Plus it won't be too close to the navel string to irritate it. Also, ensure that you get the diapers that cut around the navel string until it falls off. The Olive oil is to clean off the baby because we don't bathe the baby until after their navel string has fallen off. I got a book when I was pregnant with my daughter 9+ yrs ago at the clinic. I guess you won't get that same book if you go to a private doctor throughout your whole pregnancy since it is only used and issued by all government facilities. I know a lot of people who went to private doctors, but when they are close to delivery their doctor will send them to a clinic where they get checked biweekly then weekly and the nurse will send them to the closest hospital to them with a letter to book them in for delivery. Don't sweat it just relax and just talk to God and leave everything in God hands🙏💯🤗❤️🇯🇲🇨🇦

Leave it with Errol. Just bring in your Delivery Room bag. I can't believe you have to provide every single thing to the hospital?? Especially in the Delivery Room? Taking in your own Epidural!! I'm really shocked? Praying that baby will arrive safely and you both will be safe and well so that you can go home soon afterwards. XXX

Why would they need to fly home? She is having the baby in Jamaica at a hospital near to where they live.
A normal birth is always the best Swaggy..Its quite uncomfortable but the healing process is super normal....As someone in health i'd always advise on normal birth except its health reasons are concerned.....All the best and safe delivery hun.

Hi Swaggy, you are basically good with what you packed. Just bring one days supply of everything. Errol can bring in things in incrementally as the need arises if you stay longer. Remember space is limited in hospitals and there is a lot of pilferage happening there. Try to relax your body and mind totally before your due date so that delivery may be spontaneous and quick. Anxiety and stress will only complicate things. The card that you were told about is what is given to mother's who attend prenatal clinic at the Government Centres. If you attended a private clinic, the papers your OBGYN gave you will suffice. It contains all the info re the progress throughout the pregnancy. Same as what the clinic card has. Please omit the Dettol, (it is too harsh) bring a bottle of Savlon instead. It is used for Sitz Bath after delivery. Have a safe delivery and a healthy happy baby. @758 🇱🇨🧑🍳

Swaggy I have got 3 children so just bring what the doctor told u to bring to labour's room, keep the rest of u things in the hospital room if u r not in a private room ask some one good to watch the suitcase until u r back, stop the worrying don't stress u self u r going to be OK safe delivery to u and baby angel.
