I saw them in person this year and you could tell people were enjoying their new stuff but hadn’t heard it, most of them were just waiting for holding on and a couple others
Thanks for featuring TWO of my takes!! • When I said Re_Jaded was one of the two best songs released in the last ten years, the other one is Moon by Myon. • Regarding the progressive house take, I actually meant what you refer to as “commercial house” (what Martin Garrix makes), but it applies to the original variant of progressive house as well. I agree that there shouldn’t be a quota for a genre in a songs list, but I do think that while the lion’s share of progressive house these days is mediocre at best, the small fraction of it that’s truly amazing is still in absolute terms a very large number of songs, due to the sheer size and popularity of the genre. Therefore I feel as though there is way too much quality out there in that genre to not include one. But that’s just my opinion! Yours is valid too, and yes you’re absolutely right that on average, progressive house is going through a rough patch (and has been since 2016). And I agree completely with the Telos take, because that was another one of my own takes as well, but mine was a stronger assertion (Telos is the best electronic album of the decade).
Re_Jaded was a masterpiece in my opinion. The style of deadmau5 that made me fall in love with deadmau5. Out of curiosity, if this isn’t his best track in the last 10 years what is?
I actually really loved his venture into a fairly different soundscape on tracks like Pomegrante, Hyperlandia, and Legendsry while Bridged By A Lightwave and Monophobia are all peak.
I really love the Progressive House tracks (the last two tracks) from Vylet Pony‘s Girls Who Are Wizards, but then I love everything about Girls Who Are Wizards❤
What u said abt cheerleader and rr is fair, but the latter one‘s still my fav song of 2024, ofc that doesn’t mean to much when cheerleader‘s my 2nd fav
You should react, or at least listen to FKA Twig’s Eusexua!! Definitely not the traditional EDM type sound , but way more experimental and kind of focuses on older/more niche and experimental electronic genres like deconstructed club, trip hop, and IDM, with ofc some rave bangers. My personal favorites are the title track Eusexua, Girl feel good, striptease, and childlike things
Pyroclastic's underlying melody reminded me a lot of Monster Hunter Frontier - Kuarusepusu Battle Theme. I mean that in a good way because both are great songs.
About that Progressive house segment, Nigel Good's album had tons of Progressive House on it and was on the Top 10 Albums video. Which being in such a scene where the genre is very disrespected for it's boring non-dubstep in your face future. (I will agree most Prog House released in modern day is VERY cookie cutter and boring). I'm SUPER grateful that it landed on Top 10 albums since it truly deserves it.
13:09 mainstream appeal doesnt always mean its the best, in this case prog house is just easy listening for the general audience compared to most subgenres, and is the most accepted subgenre for radio, so naturally it remains the king bc of the general audience it bags
NERO's Into The Unknown was so slept on dude, not enough people talk about it
I saw them in person this year and you could tell people were enjoying their new stuff but hadn’t heard it, most of them were just waiting for holding on and a couple others
Is it on Apple Music? I can’t find it
@garrettmusic1724 it is on Apple Music!
@garrettmusic1724 it is for me, look for the artist and is should be their most recent release
New resolution for 2025: add more honorable mentions to all end-year lists.

deadmau5 - Re_Jaded and Input_Output are so peak.
the marcix EP was the best of the year for me, a ton of variety with stellar mixing and a fun concept. probably your biggest snub of all time imo
Especially creative for the dubstep genre that gets filled with a bunch of slop
Yeah I agree also, it’s awesome
I really love the Progressive House tracks (the last two tracks) from Vylet Pony‘s Girls Who Are Wizards, but then I love everything about Girls Who Are Wizards❤
HOW DID I NEVER RECOGNIZE THE GRANT BOWTIE FOR YOUR OUTRO
😏
I did change it just recently
John Summit. The first good dance album since Avicii.
Negative.
@ give me one other example to convince me ? I mean before SoundCup is going to release his album , which will be up on the same sphere
What u said abt cheerleader and rr is fair, but the latter one‘s still my fav song of 2024, ofc that doesn’t mean to much when cheerleader‘s my 2nd fav
MPH - Refraction easily my favourite album of 2024
Wireframe by Paper Skies was easily one of the top 5 albums this year, I'm surprised it wasn't even an honorable mention on your list
Absolutely
Also I think tmbsh by acloudyskye should've made top 10
I AGREE so much
Still think Iglooghost not being mentioned at all is such a snub

I’m a HUGE fan of the album! ‘Striptease’ is one of my favourite songs in a LONG time
Pyroclastic's underlying melody reminded me a lot of Monster Hunter Frontier - Kuarusepusu Battle Theme. I mean that in a good way because both are great songs.
NCS have new album with Geometry Dash:
Kovan & Electro-Light - Skyline Pt. II
Before Skyline Pt. II:
Teminite & Chime - Duckstep
Promisse Land by Vintage Culture is a masterpiece.
I‘m constantly going back to Stardust in the Universe 😅 I think if we ignore the nostalgia value of Comet, it is the best dubstep track of 2024
My 3 favorite eps of 2024 were The Pilgrimage by Stasys, Metamorphosis by ennoia, and Meaning’s Edge by Djrum.

I think Dream Eater definitely deserved a spot on the best songs list
11:30 spinning is literally goated?? neither of those two top spinning
Also a good one!
My hot take is that people give monstercat too much credit. I dont think most of their releases are THAT good
13:09 mainstream appeal doesnt always mean its the best, in this case prog house is just easy listening for the general audience compared to most subgenres, and is the most accepted subgenre for radio, so naturally it remains the king bc of the general audience it bags
Vylet Pony's branding does not do it for me at all. The music is good otherwise.
Can anybody recommend some progressive house or techno albums? (Really want to listen to some new records, not trolling here)
Dreamstate - Kelly Lee Owens is not the best of 2024 but very underrated!
Cameo
I thought Telos was awful.
Still think GNX should’ve been here
This is an EDM channel why would a rap album with no EDM production be on any EDM year old best of list
Because if you watched the original video honorable mentions exist
@@mattnic001 go watch the top ten videos again
