    Thank you soooooo much for sharing this! I read his book, Living with the Himalayan masters’ about 25 years ago and for me it was life changing. It inspired me so deeply that I went on to ordain as a Buddhist monk. Accidentally finding this video this evening has been wonderful and watching the great teacher has brought me great joy. I am grateful. 🙏😁❤️

    I pray to the divinity in you.I think you are the first vital thing in my life to cry for.I had been craving for worldly possessions so far.Master please incarnate yourself to help me liberate myself.You are the bestest and the most polite master I've ever heard and seen..Hope I find place in the feets of a guru like you....

    Many great points in this talk that don't usually get mentioned. Preparation for example. Lately my meditations haven't been as effective as they were few years ago. I realize the reason is I lived a much simpler life then. It was easier to have a quiet mind as I had less work, less deadlines. I realize that now, as a preparation for meditation, I need to set these things in order so they don't bubble up as anxious thoughts when I sit to meditate. Break up the work tasks into segments that I do on specific times, so I know I get it done in time (thus no cause for worrying thoughts).
    Also setting up the _motivation_ to meditation. Which for me can be contemplating on impermanence (the short time we have to live).

    What most people don't understand about the cheek slapping is the context of the time. He says slap one cheek and give the other cheek, at that time in history a master over a slave could only slap a cheek on one side of the face. If you give the other cheek and he slaps you again he now considers you an equal and you have THE RIGHT to fight him as an equal, not as a slave in bondage. This is actually a very brave quote, it means that you are taking a stand for yourself and not accepting slavery, it also a sign that to let it go once, but the second time is different. It is NOT complete submission. Most of the Bible is parable that no one understands because they read it from a modern language stand point.
    And I say this as a person that has left Christianity but chose to study it very deeply before I left. What I have said is an explanation of that passage from a historical context. You cannot have an unconditionally loving God that has so many rules about how you pray, the name you address God, etc. There is no unconditional love in the Bible. That is why I left. To have to call a God a certain name to protect their ego sounds more like calling up a demon, than an unconditionally loving God.

      The very profound statements like I AM I, I and Father are ONE, It is not i, it is the Father who doeth through me, are very much advaita ( The oneness, or non dual) yet the teachers and interpreters of the bible teachings are on a very literal mode of teaching and missing the deeper truths of these statements in bible...

    Awesome! Let go is the core of meditation. Vedanta is non-duality as Jesus says that I & my father are the same. Today, Quantum Physics attests Vedantic teachings. If you know Vedanta then Jesus teachings are easy to understand.

    If you've had experiences as described through meditation then you can hear the absolute conviction in his tone. It's then becomes interesting to hear the different master's of self give lectures.

    Thank you for this video. The Hindu tradition is a treasure for humanity. So sad to see great Hindu saints like Paramahamsa Nithyananda being sabotaged in their mission of spreading Vedic knowledge by false news. Nithyananda Truth channel exposes the truth about these cases.

    The seems to be the exact opposite of what is taught in Kriya Yoga by Paramahansa Yogananda. In deep meditation, my breath almost stops. I would like to know if others have a point of view here.

    • @kishorem9019
      @kishorem9019 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Xpand2infinity actually your breath doesn't stop, the air from both the nostrils balances each other. So it feels like your breath has stopped.

      Kishore kish; can you explain how several yogis past and present including publicly known mystic Sadguru have stopped all their organs including the heart for long time during deep deep meditation. Technically the 'death' state. This happens without breath obviously. Namaste x

    • @ChristISComingAFTERAnti-christ
      @ChristISComingAFTERAnti-christ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hey friend. As a student of SRF I can whole heartedly express that Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings (which of course is God working through him) is truth. Without any bias I practised lessons as advised and nothing has impacted me more in transforming ones state of being. I too barely breathe in deep states of meditation, as in lucid dreaming or as we all do in deep sleep. This for me is obviously the natural healthy state; not needing to breathe much, being at-ease. Personally, when ever I focus on the breath, that is, allowing it to flow naturally whilst concentrating on it, I find it cannot flow naturally and prevents me from going deep. Certain breathing techniques taught in kriya yoga prior to meditation allows me to forget about the breath and enter deeper states of meditation. I guess we can only go by self-experience, which is authentic truth. Peace and Love x

    What about the pranayama techniques that involve holding the breath?

    • @Sarthaknehavikas
      @Sarthaknehavikas 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Torin's garden ...Pranayama helps in meditation. Pranayama means 'keeping prana, life energy, within limits'. Breathing tech helps to keep our conciousness within ourself. It helps in meditation n peace. pranayama is not a destination but and step to superconcios meditation.

    • @Sid0419
      @Sid0419 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There is no pranayama that tells you to hold your breath. There are techniques around shallow breathing or deep breathing but that's only to cleanse and strenthen your lungs.
