As a cheerleader, medic and coaches should be present AT ALL TIMES. The mats aren’t the issue here, accidents in cheerleading is inevitable and the right personnel should be present.
Wala dapat ganyang activity sa school kung hindi naman kaya iprovide lahat.
I was a star flyer like her in hs and wala talaga kaming medics or anything. Kung saan saan nga prumapractice every weekend eh if sarado yung school. Parking lot, local gym, etc. Agree talaga ako dapat laging may emergency medics in every cheerleading practices.

She had her future ahead of her, she was so talented! The parents lost their daughter that they cared, raised, and loved for. Chesy was such an inspiration for so many of us! She was a part of our childhood. So, when I heard the news about this, I cried. It was such a tragedy, it really is. And from what I see, the teacher was just trying to save face and doesn't even sound one bit sympathetic. Money couldn't replace a life. i am so frustrated right now, the way the teacher handled the situation is SO unprofessional. This would have never happened if they didn't do this. They are aware that accidents are bound to happen in cheerleading. First off, they are students. Idk if they're just doing this for PE or for a competition but I'm beyond frustrated about this situation. They should've ensured their safety. Those safety mats looks thin! Those coaches as well are unprofessional for just letting the students do it! They should've stayed BESIDE the student while doing it for extra safety. They can't just expect them to perfect it after teaching them! They're not professional cheerleaders! They handled the situation SO WRONG. May you rest in peach chesy🕊️

Her art was such a huge source of inspiration, especially to young queer Filipino artists like me. This is so angering and heartbreaking. All of this happened because of the school and the teacher’s negligence. They should be sued, they should be punished. A life was lost.

tonight i found out about her passing. it hit me so hard because her animations has breathed life back into my passion in art, and was convinced she would be among the artists leading the animation industry in PH. I pray for her and her family.

Tama po sana mayroong monitoring and close supervision sa ganitong delikadong activity. May medics/ registered first aiders ambulance na nakastandby. Empathy, no more blaming. Saving the life of this student of prime importance in this situation.

In my whole experience sa school simula grade school (Grade 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) Maraming hinanakit ang mga estudyante sa systema ng paaralan natin dito. I mean kahit saan naman siguro, pero eto some of the problems, so that our parents here are aware of the situation on SOME (generally 75% of schools lol) schools.
1. Bullying/Cyberbulling offenders have little to no reprimands, lots of students have killed themselves over the years by this ONE reason itself. Ipagbabati lang sa Guidance office and they'll call it a day like what? (Which 99% of the time makes the bullying activities even worse, even some teachers bully the students).
2. In cases where these events happen where there are accidents or sickness/illnesses strike student/s, there is not enough knowledge to support "First aid" that's done by the school nurses/teachers. Head trauma/injury lagyan lang ng ice oks na, masama pakiramdam haplas haplas lang good to go na, I'm referring to the cases with the most severe conditions are commonly treated as a "normal sick day" most of the time in our public schools.
3. Corruption whether mapa-pera man yan or position sa school. Some teachers will do everything to get promoted/praised or KUMITA (fellow students, you know what I mean) ng extra, which is not entirely the fault (Ehem low salary, ehem late salary) of some teachers but it doesn't justify them doing these kinds of things.
4. Takipan ng baho, OH I'VE HAD MY FARE SHARE OF THIS ONE! Whereas may mga teachers/principals who did us wrong, we complain, and then they GANG UP on us students para manahimik and not cause scandal para di bumaho yung reputation nila.
5. Forced activities without having the capacity to properly engage and execute the said activies. Kulang sa kagamitan, kulang sa safety protocols, kulang sa knowledge about the specific activity serves as a recipe for disaster. AGAIN, it is not entirely the fault of the teachers or the schools. Pero kung hindi kaya yung isang sport/activity na imanage ng maayos, just don't do it. (Example is this, safety mat raw "like oh wow THAT THIN OF A MAT WILL REALLY SAVE US FROM HITTING OUR SKULLS 90KMH DOWN ON CONCRETE FLOOR". These activities serve as experience for our youths but more IMPORTANTLY, an achievement of the school and its organizers/handlers so no wonder they force it so much to look good.
Again, this does not entirely apply to every school in the world, but this does happen, and is often happening. And our youths are slowly realizing it, that's why there's also a decline of interest of going to school (probably just an OBVIOUS speculation)
Marami pa yan, from Sexual Assaults happening inside school premises, favoritism of teachers among students, laziness of school practitioners etc. Just ask the students and they will tell you, majority of them will choose to hide the fact since they want to graduate and make their parents proud cuz they're afraid of the consequences of fighting back. (A very free country huh?) Sooner or later, they will realize these things but it's already too late, like I did.
AGAIN, it is not entirely the fault of the teachers or the schools.? fault ng students? love it
THIS IS HAPPENING NATIONWIDE! Plus the fact that so many teachers are wretched in morals not just in sexual cases but also actively partake in forgery of credentials and academic dishonesty. The fact that many think THIS kind of education is normal? Disgusting. Our entire system needs to be exorcised at this point.
My heart was pounding so hard when I heard the news, I was trying to calm down myself, then at the moment I watch this, I was sweating and I feel so hot even though It's raining and have an AC on, I was waiting for the moment they said that this is her, while I was waiting I was thinking that this is just a lie this can't be true, but the moment I heard her channel's name, my heart sank like titanic, I can't Imagine the artist I used to loved is comatosed and now dead, I can't believe this, this is too devastating

I don't want to blame the teacher for this bizarre accident. However, the way she speaks to the parents sounds very condescending and unapologetic. Imagine the pain of the parents seeing their child in coma and yet that's how the teacher would talk to them. Ni walang sympathy, very insensitive. It may be an accident, but they could have acted quickly on the situation and maybe they have saved the child. If I were the teacher, I would be very sorry to the parents my kasalanan man ako or wala sa nangyari. Rest in peace to the young lady and condolences to the family. Omg, I used to be a cheerleader when I was in high school, back in 1986. As a cheerleader before, we have precautions and we have oir leaders to watch us all the way until we are all done with our practice. I remember wala pang kaming lalaki noonna taga salo; all of us are girls, walang lalaki. This is critical; lalo na hinahagis mo ang tao. We tried to make sure also that Na MGA Sasalo were all alert.
It makes me madder that she doesn't have that empathy for the victim.

the problem here is that these students were imposed to do stunts done by well experienced cheerleaders. Senior Highschool students don't have a proper training for it nor the lifters.. kaya di nila alam maghagis or magcatch ng maayos..please keep safe.. doble ingat po tayo sa paggawa ng stunts.. I'm a cheerleader myself and I can say its a really hard and risky role to play.. dapat maturuan din and mga lifter at spotter sa proper handling at tossing.

Need talaga isama sa budget ng school ang pagkuha ng professional trainer sa mga ganyang activities kasi may mga risky at complicated na routines eh.. Or wag nalang talaga samahan ng lifting or mga routines na delikado kasi wala namang proper training yung mga bata

Naalala ko yung nakita ko sa news few months ago, lalake nacomatose din sa kakahagis sa kanya, ganyan na ganyan din, sumali sa events. Pero nagmilagrong nagising at nabuhay, walang impossible. Pray lang po, at magtulungan nalang sana para sa ikabubuti nung victim!

nung college kami ganyan din,..wala talagang teacher na nagsupervise...at wala kaming safety matts...kami lang mga cheerleader at yung coach nmin..delikado talaga maging cheerleader life risk talaga..this was a lesson learn kaya sa mga student dapat kapag sasali ang kayo sa cheering squad make sure na may mga gamit for your safety.❤️

Well di na talaga mawawala yan, kasi isa yan sa highlights ng cheerleading at cheerdance pero kung walang alam yung teacher or sports coordinator sa cheerleading wag syang magpapakompetisyon ng ganun not unless kukuha sila ng propessional cheerleading coach, kahit magkaroon man ng accident hindi sobrang lala ng injury.

Make the coaches accountable. Sila talaga yung experto sa ganito at sila nag bibigay ng mga heads up sa gagawin. + factor na rin yung coordinator dapat mag bigay siya ng sympathy pero siya pa malakas loob.

Hindi mga totoong coaches un.sabi ng guro mga alumni daw so outsider sila. Kung coaches sila dapat may mga spotters sila pag ganyqng may error nasasalo nila un trabaho ng spotters kahit nga mgq profesionals event lqging may spotters alisto yung mga un lalo na pag nagroroutine na uung mga bata focus nilq andon sa tumatalon sa taas inaabangan nila paglanding.walang spotters tapos yung mat ang kitid pa disgrayang malki talqga yan.

Tbh, una pa lang bat may lifting as part of PE lang? hindi dapat magkaroon ng lifting kung activity lang yan sa PE myghad. I’m speaking as former student dahil noong time namin hindi allowed anv kifting sa cheerdance. Also, ang mga ganyang routine it tool months of training and practices para maayos. Clearly, they did not oversee na di naman trained professionsals ang mga students na yan

Tragic accident....saddening for everyone. I was also heart broken when I found out. It's just so frustrating, it's like they were setting the students up for an accident. Hope nothing like this happens again :( Chesy will be missed, she inspired a lot and helped people through tough times with her art.

Totoo kaya kung tutuusin may kasalanan talaga sya. Obviously hindi fully equipped yung school sa ganyan activities. May accidents kasi talaga na hindi mo pwedeng galawin ang body. Hindi lahat ng accidents pwede i-cpr lalo hindi sila sure kung may rapture. Kaya talagang may kapapabayaan ang teacher at school dyan kahit may waiver pa yan. Kung palpak sila sa safety measures pwede icontest ang waiver sa korte

Advice kung sakali may nakita kayong bumagsak or nabagsak nauna ulo nauna likod batok wag nyong hahawakan at wag nyo gagalawin ang katawan tumawag agad ng rescue ambulance . Sila mag hahawak ng katawan ng tama at idadala sa hospital para maicheck ng doctor kung ano ang tamang gagawin . Yan yung una tinuturo sa medic .
