The author of this manga is a sick fuck yeah. She has a real sense of very macabre humor. She might also be my favorite.

I remember watching it for the first time and.... well I love it as it's own work but Kaiman..... every time he opens his mouth I'm expecting to hear 'Oi Josuke!!'

Dorohedoro was always one of those shows I intended to get into but never got around to. Nows as good a time as any.
It's very good. It stands on its own.
If it helps, I binged 18 years worth of chapters in under a week (don't worry, it wasn't a weekly series).
It outlived 3 publishing houses, so I'm glad it finally got an anime too, plus S2 has a schedule.
Until yesterday I would've never expected you to ever react to Dorohedoro, but I'm so here for it.

What we learned in Episode One. Caiman loves gyoza. There's a printing shop in the Hole. Caiman has nightmares. What we'll learn in Episode Two is still hidden in chaos. That, is Dorohedoro.
I was just wondering if anyone reacted to Dorohedoro enough to search it, and I was not expecting many results, much less results from one of my favorite creators. Dorohedoro is one of those anime where I don't hear much about it, but when I do, its overwhelmingly positive.
And name-dropping Deadman Wonderland in the same video? Now that takes me back.
DHD dropped in 2020 and was one of the biggest sleeper gems of that whole year. Great characters, bleeding style out of every pore, incredibly wild world building. Just a 10/10 in every regard. Rabidly looking forward to the nest season.

Love this show so much. It's as goofy as it is gorey, and as funny as it is dark.
Every time Caiman eats something and says UMAAAAIIIII he reminds me of Okuyasu (aka billion) on the food episode, thats when i realized they got the same voice actor
Oh hell, yeah, my favourite manga, and once it's complete it might become my favourite anime depending on the execution.

This show is so fucking good, it's a very old manga, it's shocking it even got an anime, but you sitting there appreciating the art of the city and your care for the layering (which is similar to the level in the manga)

It didnt went as popular bc people were (and still are) very critical of fully CGI animation, even though it looks great

It depends on the type of magic but you’re correct, a good example (not an anime but it still works) is Dr strange, he needs his hands to do high level magic

Dorohedoro is the best... so glad they're doing another season. Also, this is the first time I've seen Alicia, the prognosticator, stumped by an anime... get used to it, it only gets crazier from here.

so Dorohedoro was a show MAPPA worked on a few years before CHainsaw Man and it really feels like a precurso in some ways. Like they're diferent stories with a lot of differences, but they FEEL simialr enough for it to make sense that MAPPA worked on both.

So this started in 2000 and ended in 2018.
I found it in 2017 ... and binged it over a few days.
I'm hoping the anime lives up, because it is an amazing character series.

couldnt get enough of it, inbought the whole book series after it aired. i just needed to know where it was going.
If you love the detail, I'd really recommend checking of some of the manga art.
It really shows what a talented artist can do when not tied down to weekly deadlines.

I hope Netflix didn't cancel this show cause it's amazing but it has been a long time since the first season and Netflix's track record with animated shows isn't great.
Season two is coming it was announced a while ago that it is in production.

Doroedoro is one of the few good 3d animated animes. The only omes i can think of that are worth anything are land of the lustrous, beastars, and the duke of death and his maid.

It might just be my favorite anime. The characters are all great, and despite being gritty as all hell, it never really turns edgy because of how casual and humorous most of the grim shit happening on screen is.

The manga that made me have newfound respect and fear about mushroom magic.
Also, it is an incredibly imaginative setting with a bunch of loveable douchebags. I loved it from start to end, hope you'll like it too.
the way I'd describe Dorohedoro is that it's a show where noone's a hero/good guy, but not outright villains either. THey're just different flavours of fucked up c:

Idk how alicia feels about dubs, but the dub for this is really good, and personally I think some lines go across a bit better In the dub, small example from this ep, the moment Caimen sees nikaido turned half bug, instead of "look at you, nikaido." in the dub he says "that's not a good look for you, nikaido." Which isn't a big change but I feel it's a better line for his character, just my opinion tho.

This ended up being a weird anime for me. Yes, the plot is also weird, but that's not what I mean. If I recommend an anime, it's because I liked it more than usual. Which usually means I remember a decent amount of it. This is not one of those. I still highly recommend this one, but I remember very little about it.
But... but what if we think the onsie is cute? are we still dead?

Man it's wild hearing the Japanese voices on this series, it's one of the few where the English voice cast is just super good so I watch the Japanese version less.
