It's a very interesting concept very Castlevania-ish wish Sega would bring this one over here, even if it's still a big escort hassle the whole vampire apocalypse makes it interesting, it does need a bit tweaking like no friendly fire being the most obvious, and items that are able to boost the NPCs health, defense or stamina even if temporally, like maybe create it through alchemy or making them rare so you can use it when in a pinch, a new game plus feature in which you keep some progress and items is awesome it would give incentive to keep playing, I'd definitely buy it.
Somehow i;'ve managed to play it here in brazil. But it's not that bad, with the commands to make them wait and follow makes it easier. Also they will be always trying to stay behind you, by knowing that, it makes easier to control them.

That Twitch transition at the end of the video was very natural and seamless, I'm proud. Usually when people drop their Twitch links, it's pretty jarring in the video, but the way you guys handled it felt like a natural end to the video. I'm proud of you guys!

This game kind of reminds me of another hidden PS2 gem called Zombie Virus (aka The Zombie vs. Ambulance), which is like Crazy Taxi with a similar mechanic of rescuing people and getting them to safety that is in this game. Maybe that's a game you could look into for a future Region Locked episode, as it was only released in Japan and PAL regions along with many other Simple 2000 games.
This wasn't the vampire game I was looking for, but it is amazing. I really want to play this. I'll look to emulate it, or do whatever you did to play it in English. The vampire game I'm looking for, if I remember correctly, takes place in modern times, with some kind of vampire task force hunting them down. If the vampires are shot, or notice the player, the vampire ABSOLUTELY BOOKS IT to the player, with a ridiculous run. And the player has to gun down the vampire, before it gets to them.

I remember this game, bland and boring and essentially a fetch/escort quest from start to finish. I suppose half the reason was not understanding a word of what was going on in the story, (the video is showing a fan translation I assume), but the action and game mechanics weren't crash hot either. Still had no choice but to finish it after blowing my pocket money on an import copy.
I went and brought this immediately after watching this for about £15. I don't own a Japanese ps2, I don't have a region modded ps2 and I definitely don't.. know why I did it
Another game that I probably would have played in the mid 2000s if it would have been released in the west. On the contrary, knowing how arbitrary the rating was back then (and still is today) this game would have never been released here in Germany at all.
Game sounds too innovative and the layers of mechanics that I'm sure most will find punishing even for back then. It still should've been released maybe as a digital game today. P.s some games from that era that critics found to be bad or average, god hand, the club, stuntman, shinobi, tenchu, vampire rain etc. All games with sound gameplay but came out at wrong periods in history so they never took off unless its considered cult classics now.
The period was a golden era for videogame history, simply most of the people that played these gems more years later, were wrong to not approciate them when these games were released on the market.

Instead of scrapping friendly fire, a better idea would be to either include a more intuitive targeting system or adjust hitboxes.

Yeah, I like the idea, but it does look bland, the colors are too dark and monotonous. It looks like a PS1 game with smoothed out graphics.
